Whitegates Nursing Home

Despite the restrictions of lockdown, the staff have been enterprising and creative in helping my father adjust to an unfamiliar environment. This helped him find his place. His room became his office and appropriate tasks were found for him. The staff are friendly. I would like to give thanks to the night staff team. The nurses are really good, they will always talk to the relatives. The manager is approachable and gives good direction to her team. Thank you.

A very pleasant surrounding for residents and visitors.

Mum became a resident of White Gates in early December 2020. She had previously been in assisted living accommodation but, although the staff there were marvellous also, she needed increased care due to dementia. Since moving to White Gates, Mum is more engaged, she looks well, safe and cared for. Our constant worries about her have been lifted from our shoulders knowing that she is in a place that understands and caters for her needs. The staff are incredible and have kept in touch with us at all times via text both about Mum herself and in regard to updates for the home generally. They help Mum to Facetime us whenever possible, which is a fabulous advantage whilst we are in lockdown. We were especially grateful to visit Mum over the Christmas period and reassured by the safety measures taken by White Gates. It's early days and we hope Mum will continue to settle in but we cannot thank White Gates enough for all they have accomplished with her. Highly recommended!

My husband has been living in the White Gates Nursing Home for 18-months, and the care that he receives is second to none. The carers are amazing, they are so friendly and really care for all the residents, and there is always a lively happy atmosphere. They have really good entertainment, which the residents look forward to. The home, itself, is always kept so clean. My husband's room is kept to a good clean standard. The chef is extremely good, and the food is very varied. I cannot fault any part of the care that my husband receives from White Gates.

They looked after my mum unit she passed away on the 13th of July. They kept us informed all the time and showed her care and compassion all the way to the end. The showed her dignity as well.

My mother has been shown an extremely high level of care and compassion from all the staff at White Gates Nursing Home, Laleham. They are a very professional team led by the manager, nothing is too much effort for them. My mother was extremely poorly when she went into White Gates Nursing Home, they have nursed and cared for her, and she is improving and growing stronger every day. They inform me of Mum's progress when I ring in. I would 100% recommend White Gates Nursing Home for elderly and dementia residents.

During the last stage of her life when she was confined to her bed and unable to move herself, she always looked so comfortable and cared for and was at peace.

Staff give loving care and support and are friendly and happy and the home has an overall air of calmness, happiness and thoroughness.

My mother arrived at White Gates Nursing Home after 10 weeks in a hospital and the staff improved her condition both mentally and physically. All the time she was there she was always treated with the utmost dignity and respect. Staff were always willing to discuss her needs with me. My mother died aged 101 years old and her end of life care couldn't be faulted.

Overall we are very happy with the care given. Almost all of our interaction has been with the day staff and nurses and I rate the majority very highly. Entertainment is varied and frequent and very good. Majority of staff are friendly and helpful and genuinely care about the residents. Food is of a decent standard and menu is varied and well presented.

My sister has received excellent care for the past 6 months at White Gates. The management, nursing and care staff have been so kind, attentive to her every need whilst also supporting myself and family through some difficult times when my sister has been very poorly. The facilities for residents at White Gates is amazing ranging from hairdressing to Thai Chi and entertainment that is enjoyed immensely by not only residents but also visitors. My sister received a new lease of life and I cannot thank everyone enough for this because it also gave me peace of mind.

Dad is eating and socialising more here than in hospital. The rooms are cosy and any interventions with Dad are on their way to being put in place.

My grandfather found himself in the upsetting position of needing respite care following a period of ill health. He was extremely fearful of coming to stay in a nursing home. The staff were very supportive towards him and to me as he settled in. When I collected him two weeks later he had made some great friends and felt sorry to leave. He can't speak more highly of the love and care he received from the staff. He said that there were always things to do and everyone is encouraged to join in with the activities. Thank you to all the staff for transforming a distressing time into a time of joy.

Mum is well looked after, comfortable and safe which was important to us. We are very happy with our choice. Love, also we can visit any time of the day or night.

Staff are always pleasant and friendly. They communicate well about important aspects of care. I would say, however, that sometimes there are communication problems eg when dad runs out of toiletries.

I feel that the care here is better than at the previous home and while dad was still able to express himself, he also said that he preferred White Gates.

I would recommend White Gates care home for its caring, compassion, and nursing skills. My father was only in White Gates for one week and the lovely carers and helpers were very supportive and treated my father with dignity and respect and also made sure that as a family they supported us as well. They kept us informed all the way through this very sad process as my father was refusing food and hydration and he eventually passed away. They all hugged and cuddled us as we cleared my father's room genuinely upset at his passing. Thank you, White Gates, for all your support.
