Coniston Court Care Home was, for my mother, a home from home, which it should exactly be for the residents when they fear the traumatic move from long-lived homes.
All the staff work tirelessly to provide excellent care.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Mum has been a resident here for several years. It is a very special home on account of the wonderful staff. They are cheerful, kind, caring and respectful. Mum is always clean and they look after her fragile skin so well. I always felt it was the right place for her when she needed nursing care as it still offers a homely feel. The main building is like a big house. It might not have all the modern facilities but it is very welcoming. It is wonderful for all to have the grounds and gardens and the delight of resident ducks!

The love and care shown to my mum and us as a family during Mum's end-of-life was second to none. We are so glad that Mum came to live with you. Keep up the good work, it makes such a difference.

My husband has been in Conston Court Care Home for four years. In that time he has had the best care that they could give. When I visit, he is always clean and tidy. The staff are so good to him and all the other residents. Nothing is too much trouble.

Happy with the care, personal and medical.

The only issue is clothes going missing and I find that my husband is wearing someone else's clothes. On occasions, I find that he is looking to be wearing trousers that are too short.

Reply from Lissy Verghese, Registered Manager at Coniston Court

Thanks Beryl, I will discuss with the staff regarding this concern and will resolve the issues.

Staff are caring and always available to speak to. The range of activities is good and the Facebook page is good as you can see if the residents have enjoyed something. When I visited a week ago it was lovely to see cleaning in progress.

We, as a family, are very pleased with the care my husband is receiving from management and care staff at Coniston Court Care Home. He is more settled and has built a rapport with the staff, we all hope this will happily continue to grow for him.

My mum has been in Coniston Court Care Home since January 2022. The care my mum has been provided is outstanding. In the time she has been here she has gained weight. They have helped her to hold a cup again and spend time feeding her. She seems happy and contented. All the staff are very friendly, caring and helpful.

My father was admitted to the home during the pandemic, so I was unable to visit the home before his admission. I spoke to the home manager, she came across as very caring, told me all about the home and was able to answer all my questions about the care my dad would receive and reassured me my dad would be well looked after. I have only been able to visit my dad twice since his admission, due to the pandemic, I was very impressed with the way the staff interacted with him, they were patient and caring and took time to try and understand what he wanted, heis unable to communicate verbally. Throughout his stay, the manager and the nurses have always kept me informed by phone about any changes in his condition, changes in medication, or if a GP or Psychiatrist was contacted. I am very happy with the manager and nursing staff, my dad is well cared for, kept safe and all his needs are met in a caring, professional way.

The home is very friendly and the staff always keep me or my sister informed of health issues, etc. regarding our father. During lockdown, they managed to What's App us both with Dad which was much appreciated. There is always enough staff around, and they are always ensuring that the residents are eating and drinking well.

At all visits staff are welcoming, friendly and caring. I cannot thank them enough for caring for mum with empathy, dignity and respect, keeping her safe and well through these strange times. I visited mum today under strict Covid restrictions as always social distancing and PPE were provided. Mum was brought through the specially designated area she was spoken to politely clearly and caringly about what was happening and who was visiting, we were left along for our visit although I don't think mum was aware who I was. I chatted to her about our family and what was happening in our world. The visit ended and mum was taken out. I was appreciative of how the whole visit dealt with so thankyou everybody.

Two visits post lockdown in the garden. Well organised, staff attentive, Mum even had her sunglasses on. Being her birthday, staff came out to celebrate with cake and candles and took photos which I received. Very caring towards Mum who responded positively to all the attention. Thank you for making it a special occasion for her.

The manager and the whole team are amazing and very upbeat, especially through what has been an extremely difficult time.
Mum is well and happy and each time I have seen her there is someone with her making a fuss of her. Something she loves!
The home has remained free of Covid-19, an excellent testament to the very high standard of care.

A huge thank you to each and everyone one of you for all your hard work and dedication.

The staff are always helpful and nothing is too much for them. I feel the only thing that I would change is the front door entrance I think it should be two sets of doors as it is now when opened it now lets the cold air in for the residents. The other thing I think is that the residents should be checked to see if they are warm enough every day. Thank you.

Lissy VergheseJob Title:Care Home Manager

Welcome to our beautiful Edwardian Country House in the middle of Ashdown Forest close to Uckfield, East Sussex.

We pride ourselves on having a warm, welcoming and homely environment, with beautiful safe outside spaces.

We support individuals with a high standard of care, including 24-hour nursing care. This enables the people we support to live their lives with dignity.

After gaining my nursing qualifications in India, I moved to Wales and began my career in care as a nurse. I moved to Coniston Court 10 years ago, achieving my level 5 in Health and Social Care Management along the way. Following a short space in time as a nurse at the home, I progressed to the position of deputy manager and then finally to home manager in 2014.

I believe that having a passion for caring for others and ensuring individuals are treated with respect and dignity are the key foundations for great care. As a team, we work hard to support our residents to live the most normal and fulfilling lives possible, and we do so as one big happy family.

I’m incredibly proud of my team. We have an excellent working relationship and the support for each other makes each day at Coniston Court special!
