My father has been at the home for two and a half years. He settled in really well which was a worry to begin with. The staff are welcoming and have always been available for a chat and update. During the Covid-19 pandemic they have arranged Whatsapp calls for myself and sister with my dad, which had been reassuring during this period. The home has a good reputation locally, and friends who have visited, have commented on the good vibes at the home.

I am so happy with the home and the staff there. My elderly uncle has been with them for six months and has received first-class care.
The manager is particularly wonderful! Her office door is always open, and she’s there with a beautiful welcoming smile and time to listen for however long it takes. Every staff member I have spoken to have been well informed and happy to discuss him and his needs.

We’re very happy to have him there. Excellent.

My husband was in the home from 24th April 2014 and died in his room on 27th September 2019. He was looked after by all the staff extremely well.

During the month of August, my mother became very ill with a chest infection. The care and treatment given were of a high standard and it was quickly recognised that my mother was not improving and would need hospital admission. My mother on returning to the care home was efficiently cared for by all staff. My mother is now feeling a lot better and to being out of her room and moving around.

My mother is happy and well looked after. There are plenty of helpful staff around if you need anything, they are happy to help. When we had a party for my dad's 80th, the home provided transport and a carer so that she could join us. They are wonderful and caring.

My mother was a resident at the home for over a year.
During her time there, she was very well cared for, treated with the utmost dignity and listened to by staff members.

Any concerns regarding mum's health were picked up and acted upon straight away. I would have no hesitation with recommending this care home.

We were very pleased with the care my mother is receiving. The home is always clean. The carers and nurses are attentive and kind. There is regular entertainment in the lounge. The activity staff are very good at keeping a cheerful atmosphere going and even had some of the residents up on their feet dancing at the Haloween party. The manager is very friendly and approachable and has a hands-on attitude, which benefits the home. My mother is very happily settled.

I can highly recommend this care home. All members of staff are truly dedicated to the wellbeing and safety of those in their care. Nothing is too much trouble. As soon as you enter the home you feel the genuine warmth and notice staff intermingling with the residents in the lounge. Activities every am and afternoon. No effort spared to ensure all have a good time, especially on special festival yearly dates. For me personally, it was the hardest decisions to make concerning my husband (together 58 years) to go into residential care. I cannot thank all the staff enough who make it feel like a large happy safe family home. I can now sleep at night without any worries knowing my husband is in good hands. If he is unwell he will have the best nursing care.

Mum has been a resident here for three years. Having been severely let down by her previous care home we were naturally apprehensive. Her previous "care home" was a new build and this home has to compromise to fit within an older building. The aesthetics however soon become irrelevant as the residents are truly cared for here.
When Mum was mobile, she was able to move around as she wished and was supervised well as she was at high risk of falls. Now she is relatively immobile she has to be hoisted and spends much time in bed. Her skin, which is at risk, is immaculately cared for.
The manager is easily contactable and happy to discuss any concerns and act on them in a timely manner. The nursing team are good at informing the family of any medical changes. The carers are cheerful and respectful as they go about their, at times challenging, care of my mother.

It is thanks to the team at the home that Mum's condition has been stable for so long.

My husband has resided at the home since November 2016.
The staff at the home I have found to be very caring, they make friendships and love the people they care for. The manager will sort any worry you may have.

The nurses will keep you updated on all medication, blood tests and results.

Thank you for your kind comments concerning the staff and care provided at the home. I am very proud to support the team. It is often that we focus upon the negative feedback, however, I am really looking forward to sharing this experience with the team.

My mother became a resident when her care home could no longer meet her needs. My initial impression of the nursing home was very positive. As I got to know the manager and staff, I appreciated more fully how lucky I had been to secure a place for mum. Her room was comfortable, bright and cheerful. Every time I visited, she looked clean and very well cared for. Her medical needs were assessed and optimum management put in place. For the first time in many months she smiled and, whilst she didn't join in any activities due to her advanced dementia, she was certainly enriched by the warm and happy atmosphere in the communal areas. The staff are all highly professional and treat the residents with respect and kindness. Mum was only at the home for six weeks but her end of life care was faultless and I was encouraged to stay with her for as long as I wanted with countless offers of tea and biscuits. If I ever need nursing care, this would be my first choice.

The manager and staff were very good care providers for my late mother.
My mother enjoyed the music and entertainment which I’ll always remember her by. She lived and died surrounded by music and singing she was born in Vienna.
Apart from an occasional hiccup, the staff and manager were there to provide support. I was reassured, which was always appreciated with open communication.
The tea and biscuits were welcome after a long drive and I enjoyed spending time with my mother.

She stated she was cared for and I do hope that the home continues with high standards.

I cannot praise the manager and her team of wonderful staff enough.
The care they provided for my lovely mum was second to none. Always so thoughtful and they had time to talk to us family members and make us feel welcome at any time.
Mum passed away yesterday and the end of life care provided was so sensitive towards her and us.

It is a fabulous retirement home and I recommend the home highly. I cannot thank them enough for looking after my mum so well and caring for her so well.

I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone who has a family member who has dementia to go there. They are very caring, supportive, helpful and the staff are very wonderful with the residents. It's clean and very tidy, it's got a very good atmosphere about the place. It also has a lot of activities which the residents can get involved in.

Lissy VergheseJob Title:Care Home Manager

Welcome to our beautiful Edwardian Country House in the middle of Ashdown Forest close to Uckfield, East Sussex.

We pride ourselves on having a warm, welcoming and homely environment, with beautiful safe outside spaces.

We support individuals with a high standard of care, including 24-hour nursing care. This enables the people we support to live their lives with dignity.

After gaining my nursing qualifications in India, I moved to Wales and began my career in care as a nurse. I moved to Coniston Court 10 years ago, achieving my level 5 in Health and Social Care Management along the way. Following a short space in time as a nurse at the home, I progressed to the position of deputy manager and then finally to home manager in 2014.

I believe that having a passion for caring for others and ensuring individuals are treated with respect and dignity are the key foundations for great care. As a team, we work hard to support our residents to live the most normal and fulfilling lives possible, and we do so as one big happy family.

I’m incredibly proud of my team. We have an excellent working relationship and the support for each other makes each day at Coniston Court special!
