The Normanhurst Nursing Home has a comfortable, clean, homely atmosphere. The home is adjacent to the Residential Hotel on a corner site overlooking the award winning beaches. Although the nursing home is not on the seafront, some rooms do afford a sea view. However, guests can be escorted along the beautiful Bexhill seafront and the site is only a very short distance from the De La Warr Pavilion, local shops...

Overall Experience

As a family, we find Normanhurst has an exceptionally high level of care. The overall presentation and feel of the building emanate love and warmth. All the facilities are well-maintained and clean. The staff always go above and beyond to provide excellent activities to keep the residents engaged at all times. This, I believe, is key to their success in caring for these vulnerable residents. The staff's overall compassion and care are truly remarkable. They have all become like an extension of our own family. They will do anything to make our family member feel as if they are in their own home. They have all been very accommodating when we have our special requests regarding birthdays and special occasions. We truly feel blessed that we found Normanhurst for our family member.

Mum is eighty-five now and has had various ailments as you might expect. The home has been excellent in obtaining medical attention and keeping me informed at every step.

The staff have always been pleasant, humorous and welcoming.

Overall Experience
I am in general very happy with the standard of care provided by Normanhurst Nursing Home for my mother. She appears to be well looked after and is kept in good health. The staff are quick to inform me if she has any illness and what treatment is being provided.
On the downside, I have had to repeatedly inform the home that her hearing aid batteries are dead, need to be changed, and I have enquired several times what hospital treatment is still ongoing for her eyesight and am yet to receive a response.

In the scheme of things, these are relatively minor issues but could easily be put right to give a five star rating!

Overall Experience

My mother has been in the nursing home since January 2022. When she entered the home she was frail, having been in and out of the hospital with pneumonia and other infections. She was unable to walk with her frame, unable to read as a result of eye infections and very, very low. Today you see a very different ninety-eight-year-old. She walks with her frame, joins in activities, and is reading and doing crosswords. This is all down to the fantastic care she is receiving. I cannot speak highly enough of this experience.

Alison joined the Normanhurst team in 2021 and we were delighted when she later accepted the role of Nursing Home Manager in 2022!
As you can see she is passionate about elderly care and really brings lots of joy to the home in addition to meeting our resident's clinical needs.

Alli, as she is known around the home has been a Registered Nurse for 43 years, she started as a state-enrolled nurse and completed her conversion course in 2000. Before joining the Normanhurst Alli was a senior sister at one of the local hospitals.
