My mother has dementia which makes her care difficult as she does not understand and is not always compliant , in June she became very unwell to the point the family thought it was end of life , through out that very stressful time we were all treated with the utmost respect, constantly informed of any changes and treated like we mattered !

I could not fault the care that my mother received throughout that dark time , for which I will always be grateful, my mother has made a full recovery and that is down to the care she received

First class service from all of the staff, friendly and most helpful, someone is always available if I need answers to my questions.

My Partner seems happy and secure in his room at Bon Accord. A special mention for Joseph on the night team as he always updates me on how Sam (my partner) has been throughout the night, when I visit most mornings to help Sam with his breakfast.

Been here 6 years March 2026. As I have ticked everything been fine. Some carers when I first came (English) bit odd, but for long time now all Asian carers so lovely always. Management very pleasant nurses to. I sometime have my music very loud and no-one complains so thats another tick to! Animals recently visit.

Reply from Marion Conway, Registered Manager at Bon Accord Care Home

Thank you for your comments, it is always lovely to hear your music playing, often bringing back memories for others. We are happy that the various animal visitors are able to be taken around the rooms, as well as communal areas for you all to enjoy.

Dad has been at Bon Accord for 5 years, first with Mum then on his own since 2023. He is settled and happy, he enjoys his chats with various staff members. He knows he can approach the nursing and office staff with any queries and will be taken seriously and kindly (though he is sometimes slow to do so). He can find the level of entertainment activities frustratingly simple as he is in good shape mentally. He feels safe and is free from the anxiety that troubles him. My brother and I are grateful for the care he receives, as we both live far away.

We are extremely happy with the care that my aunt receives here at Bon Accord. She has been here for almost 2 years and celebrated her 100th birthday here last year. She is safe and content here and I am convinced that the dedication and kindness of all the staff is contributing to her well being. I cannot fault the care that she receives.

Dad is well looked after. The carers and nurses are attentive to his needs and fluctuations in health. I was pleased and relieved that they were able to change his pubic catheter without an issue. The food looks good and the staff pay attention to what dad is eating and supplementing his diet when necessary. A new patient is wandering the corridors but this doesn't cause many problems and the staff are attentive and kind to her.

In my experience the service and level of care given to and received by my mother is excellent. The staff are always attentive to my mothers needs, treating as an individual and letting her express herself. All staff, nursing and care, are very professional yet never lose sight of the individual in their care. When I visit they make what could be a distressing and stressful situation an enjoyable one with an endless supply of tea, biscuits and sometimes Elvis.

I have found the level of care at Bon Accord Care Home, both social and nursing to be exemplary in all aspects.
In addition, the support given by the admin team is very good, making what would be a stressful time less so.
All comments or requests that I have channelled through the care and nursing staff have been dealt within a kindly and considerate manner.

The care my wife has been given at Bon Accord by all staff has made a very difficult situation bearable.

Our parents moved into Bon Accord Hove in October 2018 after Dad had a fall. They had a beautiful room which was perfect for them both as Dad recovered from his fall and it was decided that they would stay, as Mum got more frail. During covid, the reassurance that we had as they were cared for throughout by a dedicated and caring team was amazing! We were very impressed with the sensible and caring way that the rules were applied by the team during the lockdowns, enabling us to 'visit' in one way or another throughout those challenging months. Mum passed away last year and the care and compassion with which she and Dad were treated was exemplary - we were able to spend Mum's last days with her and Dad. Dad has stayed there since, in the same room and is happy and content. The team there keep us well informed of anything of concern regarding Dad's health etc. Dad is now enjoying the various activities that are laid on. Overall, we are very happy with the care that Bon Accord provides.

Reply from Marion Conway, Registered Manager at Bon Accord Care Home

Thank you for your positive comments. It really has been an emotional rollercoaster over the last few years and we are so pleased that we were able to manage the Covid restrictions for you so successfully. It has been a pleasure to care for both Mum and Dad and we are so happy that Dad is well and settled.

Our dad entered Bon Accord Care Home in September 2022, eleven days before his 100th birthday. They pulled out all the stops and baked a wonderful cake for him along with putting up banners and balloons. We were allowed to spend time with him and celebrated with a glass of prosecco. Since then we have been very pleased with his care especially as he has needed medical care just recently. The carers are lovely and although their shifts are quite often on different floors, so that we don't always see the same people, they are very caring and helpful. Sometimes his socks go missing but in the bigger scheme of things that is a minor problem. The answer is to add the owner's name to everything! The welcome at the door is second to none along with the nursing care which is excellent.

Reply from Marion Conway, Registered Manager at Bon Accord Care Home

Thank you for your lovely comments. It has been both a privilege and a pleasure to care for your dad and support your time together. Our care team are allocated to the same floors each shift for continuity, they work three or four days a week so not always available at the time of visits. We are more than happy to assist with name tags if this is requested. Socks are notoriously tricky to track!

I am so glad that we found Bon Accord Care Home. My mum moved into the home in March 2022 after a turbulent 12 months that saw a sharp decline in her physical and mental health caused by Huntington's Disease. She settled in extremely quickly and is so very happy here. The staff are kind, welcoming, diligent and feel like a second family to Mum. They look after all aspects of a person's health - physical, emotional and social. I spend a lot of time with Mum in the home and can see that the nursing and care staff are attentive, meals are prepared with care, the facilities are kept clean and tidy and lots of thought is put into daily activities. The management/admin team are exceptional and has been of immense support to me. When you have been caring for a loved one yourself for a long period of time, it can be very hard to entrust their care to others, but I am in no doubt that Mum is in safe hands here.

Reply from Marion Conway, Registered Manager at Bon Accord Care Home

Thank you for your very kind comments. It is both a pleasure and a privilege to care for your mum and to assist you with your daily visits and outings. I think the smile on your mum's face on those occasions says everything.

My nan was admitted after covid and was very unwell. She is nearly 94 years old. Our family honestly thought that her days were numbered. The team, with the excellent care she received, have brought her back from the brink and she is now able to go home. Best care ever. ten out of ten.

My brother in law has been in the Bon Accord Care Home for over seven years. During this time, his care and treatment have been of the highest standard. Without exemption, staff have liaised with relatives, to ensure that any requests and concerns he might have are addressed. Rooms and all facilities are maintained to a high standard. Visitors are made welcome and I have no concerns regarding his care.

Mum has been extremely well looked after. The staff have kept us informed of any problems. They are all welcoming and friendly. Mum's room is comfy and cosy, with plenty of space and she has her own things around her. Mum appears to be happy and settled, as much as her condition currently allows. I would have no reservations in recommending Bon Accord.
