Clyde Court Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When I first entered the home in May 2025 I was not greatly impressed but my brother needed care as soon as I could find availability, I was also worried about how my brother would react in care as he can be very awkward and hard to deal with, he doesn't like being told what to do and sometimes can
act like a spoiled child, he also had mobility problems and tended to fall frequently and would never ask for assistance and because he led a very active life this problem added to his temper tantrums, I no longer have any worries about him which is great as I have health issues myself, and it all down to the wonderful staff on the ground floor who have turned my brothers life around he doesn't fall now because of special equipment and staff care, does what he is asked because of staff understanding him I can not thank these dedicated staff enough for taking a huge worry of my mind Clyde Court is heaven on earth for elderly care I was so wrong to have doubted it. Thank you to all staff
Reply from Ged Rabinowitz, Admin at Clyde Court Care HomeHi Martin, thanks so much for you kind review, we are so proud of our staff who work so incredibly hard to ensure that every resident receives the best possible care. I'll be sure to pass on these warm words to them.

Abbey Court Care Home

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My husband was only here 2 months (although he has been to 2 previous homes). I found the care was above and beyond expected. Although he was difficult (because of dementia) they handled him so well, with respect and took me under their wing. Informing me on medication and what to expect.
Reply from Sophy Whiting, Home manager at Abbey Court Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It means a great deal to us and to the whole team. We understand how challenging dementia can be for both residents and their loved ones, so we are truly pleased that your husband was treated with the respect, patience and dignity he deserved during his time with us.

Supporting families is just as important to us as caring for our residents, and we are glad you felt informed and supported throughout. Your words about the team going above and beyond will be shared with all staff, who work incredibly hard to provide compassionate care every day.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and for trusting us with your husbands care.

I cannot fault the care that my father has and currently is getting from the staff at Abbey court. All the staff are extremely welcoming to all members of my family and friends who visit.
My father has dementia and has settled in very well which is all due to the care and friendliness from all staff

I want to express my thanks for the delicious meal that I enjoyed with my mum on Mothers Day 15th March. The 2 course meal was served in a prompt and friendly manner. We ate really tender lamb with mint sauce, potatoes, brussels and carrots all cooked well plus plenty of gravy with more offered. We
had a tasty hot dessert with a lovely caramel custard. Congratulations to the chef for a fantastic meal!

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Brother-in=law was a resident at Midfield Lodge for three weeks where he received end of life palliative care. The care he received from carers and nursing staff was excellent. (I would especially like to mention the senior night nurse on duty most nights who went above and beyond). My Brother-in-law
was treated with the utmost respect as were we. Anything that we asked for was given with a smile and we seldom had to ask twice. We felt that nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. They recognised when we wanted time alone with him but still made sure they checked that we had everything we needed. The Administrator was on hand and easily approachable to answer any queries we had. Overall we are very grateful to everyone at Midfield Lodge who made this sad time a little more bearable.

Byng House is a truly amazing nursing home, all the staff are friendly, helpful and reassuring at a time in life when you feel most vulnerable.
My husband was twice discharged from hospital to Byng House and after spending time at home he returned to Byng House for end of life care.
A very difficult,
but most certainly the right decision. I was able to stay with him, he was treated with kindness and compassion.
Heather and Becci provided a safe haven and I thank everyone at Byng House from the bottom of my heart.

The manager was very honest with us when we first met. The new owners are improving the care home, which had got a bit tired. The most important part of the service for me was the care and the staff there. They are first class, they really looked after my dad. He had just lost his wife after 62 years
of marriage and was fragile. When we moved him back home he made a point of thanking them for the way they looked after him. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the care home because of the staff.

My dad Dennis has been in St Oswald's since 15/8/25. From the first day it felt like home from home and has continued to do so. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and the welcome myself and my family receive. My dad originally went for respite following the death of my mum but loves it so
much his stay became permanent. He has never asked to return home. He loves the company and activities and is looking forward to the gardening club. An amazing home.
Reply from Maria Percival, Home Manager at St Oswald's HouseThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. It means a great deal to our whole team to know that Dad has felt at home with us from the very first day. We're truly honoured to have been able to support him, especially during such a difficult time for your family, and it's wonderful to hear how much he enjoys the company, activities, and the sense of community here. Knowing that he chose to make his stay permanent is one of the greatest compliments we could receive. We're delighted he's looking forward to the gardening club too - the team can't wait to see him get involved.
Your kind words about the staff and the welcome you and your family receive are deeply appreciated. Creating a warm, supportive environment is at the heart of everything we do, and feedback like this reminds us why it matters.

Overall, we are very happy with the care our mother is getting.
The biggest problem is our mother not understanding the staff when making conversation with her.
At this time, the activities are very sparse.
In future, when more residents arrive, parking is going to be a problem.
We would like
to give a special mention for Leigh at the care home, for her help and advice. Our mother has really taken to Leigh, and can make a conversation with her and our mother understands her.
