My mam has been in the care home for 16 months. She has previously enjoyed all the activities and events the home up until recently, when she is very poorly unable to do so now. The care staff and manager have been very empathetic to our situation and have offered to get us support in this very upsetting
time. Thanky you.

Fountains Court is a lovely homely welcoming care home and well deserving of their latest CQC rating. Staff are supportive polite and proffessional will help with any concerns or issues. Residents are happy content, they are fed delicious meals and everything inbetween. There is lots of spaces to sit
and relax or just sit in their own private rooms. Well done everyone.

My elderly extended family member was in here and her care was excellent. Nurses and carers went above to make her stay there as comfortable and dignified especially towards her end of life. I would highly recommend this home for any person who needs care. I was always made welcome and the care team
were really friendly and offered refreshments if needed. I was also allowed to take my grandchildren in who were also made welcome

North Court Care Home

from L A (Niece of Resident) published on 30 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

The entrance to North Court is very welcoming as was the young lady on reception. My aunt was in bed and her room is very clean, though a bit sparse. She was very agitated and wanted to get out of bed. The carers came in and I went out and my aunt was changed and assisted to a wheelchair to go and watch
the entertainment in the lounge. She screamed a lot whilst being assisted. The music was incredibly loud which upset my aunt but we stuck it out. I then left and my aunt was waiting to be taken back to her room. I think my aunt spends a lot of time in her room.

Midfield Lodge Care Home

My husband came to Midfield Lodge after a period of assessments at the Hospice. He was very sick with a brain tumour and bedridden. The staff were, without exception, kind, caring and patient. The family was welcomed, given cups of tea and coffee, and because I spent long days there, even had lunch.
If I had a small criticism, it would be that the busy staff were not always able to respond immediately to a buzzer, but when I asked for help, it came quickly. End of life was handled sensitively and kindly. My husband received an angel and a heart for his spiritual journey onwards.

North Court Care Home

from Bella L (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 July 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Moving my mum into a nursing home was one of the hardest decisions our family ever had to make - but choosing North Court turned out to be one of the best decisions we've ever made.
From the very first day, the staff at North Court welcomed Mum with open arms and warm hearts. The level of care, compassion,
and attentiveness they show is simply outstanding. Every member of the team - whether it's the nurses, carers, activities coordinators, or kitchen staff - treats Mum with dignity, patience, and genuine kindness. It truly feels like a second family.
The home itself is bright, clean, and inviting, with beautiful communal areas and comfortable rooms. Mum's living space is always tidy and personalized, and she feels truly at home there. She especially loves the garden and the regular activities - from music sessions to crafts and gentle exercise, there's always something meaningful to do. What's meant the most to us is seeing Mum happy again. Her health is being well managed.

Bon Accord Care Home

from R M (Son of Resident) published on 9 June 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Dad has been at Bon Accord for 5 years, first with Mum then on his own since 2023. He is settled and happy, he enjoys his chats with various staff members. He knows he can approach the nursing and office staff with any queries and will be taken seriously and kindly (though he is sometimes slow to do
so). He can find the level of entertainment activities frustratingly simple as he is in good shape mentally. He feels safe and is free from the anxiety that troubles him. My brother and I are grateful for the care he receives, as we both live far away.

Reply from Marion Conway, Registered Manager at Bon Accord Care Home

We are really pleased to hear that your dad is feeling safe, settled and listened to. Our group activities are planned to reflect a variety of interests and abilities, we try to strike a balance to suit all. While he does enjoy a quiz or bowling from time to time, we have noticed he prefers the musical entertainment and meaningful one to one conversations, including history and sport which are obviously favourites for him. Thank you for your positive feedback, we have taken your comments on board and will make sure his interests remain a key part of our ongoing plans.

Dad is well looked after. The carers and nurses are attentive to his needs and fluctuations in health. I was pleased and relieved that they were able to change his pubic catheter without an issue. The food looks good and the staff pay attention to what dad is eating and supplementing his diet when necessary.
A new patient is wandering the corridors but this doesn't cause many problems and the staff are attentive and kind to her.

Byng House

from John F (Son of Resident) published on 5 May 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My father was discharged from hospital to Byng House for palliative care after a stroke and with an advanced cancer. The care he received was exceptional. From the moment he arrived he was valued as a person. Throughout his two month stay he was comfortable and lived in a lovely room, where his family
spent time with him, talking and listening to music. Each evening when we left, we were sure Dad would be well cared for until we returned.
For two months Dad actually got better and enjoyed talking to staff, having meals in his room and the restaurant, and going to a concert. Then the cancer symptoms worsened and he was re-admitted to hospital. But the following day he returned to Byng House where he was looked after with great skill, and where he passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family a few days later. We will always be grateful to Byng House for providing truly transformational healthcare for Dad, enabling him to be happy despite an enormously challenging illness.

Midfield Lodge Care Home

from Charles F (Son of Resident) published on 29 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother came to Midfield Lodge for 2 weeks of respite care following a fall and a stay in hospital. This was a home that we knew by reputation as it has cared for several people in our village. The initial contact was very easy and the assessment carried out with a speed that was impressive. From
contact to residency was 48 hours. This was very important to us as the care in hospital was poor and she was deteriorating in every sense. We needed to get her out quickly and Midfield Lodge helped us with this. On arrival she took a few days to settle and think about joining in the activities. Once she did this everything changed, she began to make friends and it was clear to us that she was healing both physically but also emotionally. She had her 92nd birthday there and the staff made her a cake and provided a tea for us all. Overall, the care she received was excellent and if we need her to go into a care home again we would choose this one.

My aunt was cared for at Fountains Court for 4 + years and was extremely well cared for with lots of activities etc. Sadly, she died in February, but her end-of-life care was excellent. She had a dignified, peaceful death and was surrounded by loved ones. The manager could not do enough for her or the
family, and the night nurse was amazing, along with the rest of the staff. Thank you for caring for her and attending her funeral.
