My dad Dennis has been in St Oswald's since 15/8/25. From the first day it felt like home from home and has continued to do so. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and the welcome myself and my family receive. My dad originally went for respite following the death of my mum but loves it so
much his stay became permanent. He has never asked to return home. He loves the company and activities and is looking forward to the gardening club. An amazing home.
Reply from Maria Percival, Home Manager at St Oswald's HouseThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. It means a great deal to our whole team to know that Dad has felt at home with us from the very first day. We're truly honoured to have been able to support him, especially during such a difficult time for your family, and it's wonderful to hear how much he enjoys the company, activities, and the sense of community here. Knowing that he chose to make his stay permanent is one of the greatest compliments we could receive. We're delighted he's looking forward to the gardening club too - the team can't wait to see him get involved.
Your kind words about the staff and the welcome you and your family receive are deeply appreciated. Creating a warm, supportive environment is at the heart of everything we do, and feedback like this reminds us why it matters.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. It's a privilege to care for Dad

Overall, we are very happy with the care our mother is getting.
The biggest problem is our mother not understanding the staff when making conversation with her.
At this time, the activities are very sparse.
In future, when more residents arrive, parking is going to be a problem.
We would like
to give a special mention for Leigh at the care home, for her help and advice. Our mother has really taken to Leigh, and can make a conversation with her and our mother understands her.

My mother has been a resident at Eastwood Court Care Home for a few years now and our experience has been excellent. The staff are consistently caring, helpful, and attentive to her needs. It is clear that they prioritise the well-being of their residents. Communication with our family is great, and
we feel very lucky to have found such a dedicated team to look after her. In addition I would like to add the management team always go the extra mile to help.

My mother has been cared for well. Carers/nursing staff are friendly and attentive. Although she is confined to bed she is kept comfortable and clean and staff visit regularly and check her. Activities are on offer every day and she encouraged to take part. Food is varied and well prepared although
she eats very little. Staff ensure she is well hydrated and safe.

From making contact to view St Oswald's House right through to the care received, I can't fault the staff, they were warm, welcoming, professional and compassionate. The home is exceptionally clean and the food smelt wonderful, the Christmas dinner lunch menu was amazing. I felt at ease knowing my family
member would receive the best care and we were welcomed to visit any time of the day/night. The care provided was exceptional and they were treated with dignity and respect at all times. Would highly recommend St Oswald's.

Cherry Grove Nursing Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The pre christmas carol service was superb, quite loud in the Lounge too loud for some so the wonderful staff and manager went off and came back with chairs for us and put us in the corridor in view of the local band. Sitting next to my wife, I saw that she was now enjoying herself - even trying to
sing along with the band. The staff at all times were very attentive to make sure my wife was okay - 'she was'. I've never seen her smile so much. Following the carol service, we went into the dining room where a finger buffet had been laid out, such a wonderful sight so much to choose from - the kitchen staff had prepared for a taster - needless it was a wonderful day, my wife really enjoyed it, never seen her smile so much in years. Thank you.
Reply from Thomas Joseph, Manager at Cherry Grove Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt message with us. We are truly delighted to hear how much you and your wife enjoyed the pre-Christmas carol service. It means a great deal to know that our team were able to respond quickly and make you both comfortable, and that your wife was able to relax, enjoy the music, and even sing along. Hearing that you saw her smile so much is incredibly special, and it is moments like these that our staff work so hard to create.
We are also very pleased that you enjoyed the finger buffet and that the kitchen team's efforts added to what sounds like a truly memorable day. Your kind words will be shared with all the staff involved, who will be very proud to know the difference they made.
Thank you once again for your lovely feedback. We are so glad the day brought such happiness, and we look forward to welcoming you both again soon.

I would highly recommend the Cherry Grove Care Home for their excellent standards of care and welcoming atmosphere. There is a large bright reception , lounge, dining area, several courtyards, a hairdressing salon and a laundry. There are many activities organised by the staff such as music and games
and everyone is encouraged to join in. The Care Home offers a high level of medical care with a nurse available 24 hours a day which is very reassuring. I have found that the nurses work very hard with the local doctors surgery to meet the resident's medical needs - the nurses have helped my mother to manage her pain effectively which has improved my mother's quality of life enormously. Also the carers have assisted me in choosing a suitable wheelchair which has enabled my mother to move more easily to the dining room and hairdresser. All the carers are so kind and gentle and make every effort to make things easier for the residents.

My mum has been in Elm House now 18 months and loves it.
I myself am a nurse which makes it even harder when choosing a home for a loved one.
However, I honestly cannot fault the care given at Elm House. The staff are lovely and look after my mum so well. And a family we cannot thank them enough.

'Thank you' seem to be inadequate words to truly express our gratitude for the loving care, compassion and professionalism of every member of staff at Byng House. Our much loved father was admitted for end of life care after being cared for at home for many months. We were anxious and hesitant about
this. Within a very short period of time we realised it was the best decision we could have made. His care was exceptional, we have only positive comments for all aspects of his care and will be eternally grateful to the team that carried us through this very difficult and challenging emotional time.

From the moment my dear mum was transferred to Midfield Lodge for end of life palliative care, she was treated with the deepest gentleness, care, respect, dignity and compassion. I could not have wished for a more caring, loving space for my mum to transition.

Every single member of staff from senior

management, administration, reception, registered nursing staff, carers, cooks, service, cleaning, wellness and everything in between were some of the nicest human beings I've ever had the privilege of meeting, let alone cared for by.

Not only did the staff take the most precious care of my mother, but folded us in their warm embrace and walked us through the 4 weeks of my Mums end journey with such tenderness and professionalism.

I do not think there is anywhere else in the world with so many extraordinary people congregated in one place with just one mission - to ease the pain and suffering of those end days, for the residents and their loved ones.

I am eternally grateful for this.

What an exceptional Care home!
Where do they find these people?
Every one of these staff were extraordinarily kind and compassionate towards my mother for the four weeks and six days she spent there. She arrived from her previous home with bed sores which they managed to treat and get rid of very
quickly.
I live in the USA and from the moment I arrived to visit my mother I could tell she was in good hands. In the last few days as she entered the actively dying stage is when they really shone, providing not only my mother with kind and compassionate care but also my family, explaining the dying process and providing support and guidance and comfort.
After she passed this morning they continued to provide compassionate care and assistance with a beautiful dignified send off from the staff.
Thank you to all the staff.
I will grateful to you all for ever.

Been here 6 years March 2026. As I have ticked everything been fine. Some carers when I first came (English) bit odd, but for long time now all Asian carers so lovely always. Management very pleasant nurses to. I sometime have my music very loud and no-one complains so thats another tick to! Animals
recently visit.
Reply from Marion Conway, Registered Manager at Bon Accord Care HomeThank you for your comments, it is always lovely to hear your music playing, often bringing back memories for others. We are happy that the various animal visitors are able to be taken around the rooms, as well as communal areas for you all to enjoy.
