I can't believe the glowing reviews this care home have received recently, I wouldn't send an animal here. While the ownership and management have changed over recent years, the quality of care has continued to decline. Unfortunately the management seem to have spent more effort in redecorating the
home than investing in the training of staff or care of the patients. We recorded several concerns and complaints over the years for our relative, and most recently we became increasingly alarmed at the use of agency staff who were inadequately trained on first aid and patient safety. I would urge anyone needing to send their relative into care to avoid this place, which has a very poor reputation in the community for good reason.
Reply from Dagmara Kaminska, Home Manager at North Court Care Home

It is very upsetting to read your review, considering your last visit to the home was back in December 2024, its rather strange to understand why you submitted the review in July 2025,where your relative is no longer in our care and home was under different management then. Things have massively changed at North Court which is evidenced in many external reports from various professionals and people's feedback. I am really sorry, that you experienced such disappointing feeling at your visit back in 2024, but I can reassure you, our residents are looked after by fully permanent professional staff working up to the highest standards of care.

I must say North Court is changing for better each day. New manager is very hands on and always available if required. My friend has resided here for couple years, staff always treat him well and respectful despite his conditions. I always feel welcomed and offered drinks and lunch, staff are very attentive
and have pure compassion in what they do. I would recommend North Court to anybody that wants to have that family feeling experience and live in a spacious clean environment.

The entrance to North Court is very welcoming as was the young lady on reception. My aunt was in bed and her room is very clean, though a bit sparse. She was very agitated and wanted to get out of bed. The carers came in and I went out and my aunt was changed and assisted to a wheelchair to go and watch
the entertainment in the lounge. She screamed a lot whilst being assisted. The music was incredibly loud which upset my aunt but we stuck it out. I then left and my aunt was waiting to be taken back to her room. I think my aunt spends a lot of time in her room.

Moving my mum into a nursing home was one of the hardest decisions our family ever had to make - but choosing North Court turned out to be one of the best decisions we've ever made.
From the very first day, the staff at North Court welcomed Mum with open arms and warm hearts. The level of care, compassion,
and attentiveness they show is simply outstanding. Every member of the team - whether it's the nurses, carers, activities coordinators, or kitchen staff - treats Mum with dignity, patience, and genuine kindness. It truly feels like a second family.
The home itself is bright, clean, and inviting, with beautiful communal areas and comfortable rooms. Mum's living space is always tidy and personalized, and she feels truly at home there. She especially loves the garden and the regular activities - from music sessions to crafts and gentle exercise, there's always something meaningful to do. What's meant the most to us is seeing Mum happy again. Her health is being well managed.

My Aunty was a resident of North Court. She was reluctant to go to any home and I was anxious. I can honestly say that I can’t praise North Court enough from the time she first stepped in she was made to feel at home and so were we. The care she received there was excellent and couldn’t be faltered
in any way. Every member of staff was always polite and acknowledged us and we could visit whenever we wanted. The activity coordinators were excellent and again included us. I also noticed that on occasions such as Xmas the staff all went above and beyond to make it very special for all the residents, the home was decorated beautifully. I have since recommended this home to people who have asked me about and I seriously couldn’t have received any better care for my Aunty it was outstanding and I can say with confidence I highly recommend the home.

The food is excellent lots of fluids given he always looks clean and smart we are all so happy he is there. We are now able to visit and have lots of laughs

My aunt came to North Court Care Home for end-of-life care which was given with compassion and kindness. Medical support from the local surgery was good and communication from the nursing staff was excellent. My aunt died peacefully and we were very grateful that she did not die in hospital where she
had been for five weeks previously. I'm not sure how we would have felt should she have recovered and gone on to live in the home as the environment is very dated and in need of modernisation. I cannot comment on the facilities and activities as she was bed bound.

My mother has been a resident for two months now. It has taken her a while to settle in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only concern I have is that the food is not very appetising. After having a meal there myself, I agree. Surely, when catering for the older generation an attractive meal
would be beneficial.

My main reason for completing this review is to express my growing concern over the staffing levels of employed carers. There seems to be more and more Agency staff who often speak very poor English and often don't seem to have a clue as to what is expected. Also, the food is not always up to standard
and is very poor.
Reply from Katie Barnett, Marketing Executive at North Court Care Home

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We would like to assure you that any team members caring for our residents have a thorough induction to be familiar with our policies and procedures. We are sorry you feel that the food provided by our home has not met with your expectations. We carried out an unannounced inspection following your feedback and found our varied menu on offer with tasty food available. On the day, our inspector tasted our menu, which included a well-seasoned Spaghetti Bolognese, Quorn Bolognese, and fish and chips. There were plenty of options for desert such as homemade chocolate pudding and ice cream. Our menus are created with feedback from residents, reflecting their likes and dislikes and residents have a food passport to capture this. If our menu is not to our resident's liking we encourage them to talk to our team so that we can note it on their food passport. If you would like to further discuss your concerns, please pop in to see the Home Manager. Thank you.

I took my husband for a week's respite so I could have an operation on my knee. He sat in a room, and no one came and asked if he was ok. No remote for the T.V, no jug of water left so he could have a drink, no food until I said I was going to the shop down the road to get him a sandwich. No drink until
4 pm when I collected him and took him home. The home should be closed down. I wouldn't leave my dog there.

Friendly welcome on arrival at each visit. Care staff are passionate about their residents' comfort and wellbeing and are a credit to the care industry. This year has been difficult but I have found the staff very caring, in very difficult circumstances. They've kept Covid out of the home, by restricting their personal lives. This is a credit to them. It's always warm and friendly. The food is excellent there. Residents always clean and dressed well.
The laundry service is excellent. One doesn't wish for your loved one to go to a care home, and while I was reluctant at first, am quite satisfied.

Both of my parents have been residents at North Court and after difficult decisions were made North Court took over their care with professionalism kindness and the utmost respect at all times. This standard has been maintained over years. My mum sadly passed at North Court and the staff were amazing
and helped us as a family to cope with a very dark sad time. The medical and day-to-day care was done with genuine care and concern. The home is efficient and clean and has a happy atmosphere with nothing being too much trouble this includes all staff from housekeepers and cooks to office and kitchen staff, they all work as a team to make life happy and interesting for their residents and wrap their arms around the families.
