Care Homes Owned by Maven Healthcare One Ltd in Renfrewshire

Both my mother and father were residents at the home each between 2 and 3 years in residence. During this time I got to know the staff very well and what struck me was the genuine care and concern they showed towards each resident. Kindness and patience were evident everywhere. I toured several homes in the Newton Mearns area, many of which had all the bells and whistles, but none had the feeling of family and warmth that Westacres offered. The staff provided individualized care tailored to the needs of each resident and came up with creative approaches to put a smile on my dad's face during a difficult time in his life. There were daily activities and lots of encouragement to join in. The social aspect really helped my mum's wellbeing and the support of the staff and her friends at the home really helped her cope when my dad passed away. Knowing they were cared for so well in the home helped put my mind at rest as I live out of the country.

I spent a considerable amount of time at the home during many of my visits from abroad. My father and mother-in-law were both residents at Westacres for several years.

My lasting impression is of the warmth, compassion, and empathy shown by all members of staff. An example was when my father-in-law passed in the care home, the staff went to great lengths to not only look after my mother-in-law but also other family members. We witnessed countless acts of kindness including a young carer late at night, pulling out his guitar and soothing a distressed resident through music.

When my mother-in-law moved in, the social support available enhanced her quality of life despite her worsening condition. She loved to join in musical events and was known for her dancing. She got involved in everything from baking to art to gardening.

Moving into a care home is not something anyone wishes for but we couldn't have asked for better care or a more homely, supportive environment than Westacres.

Caring and attentive staff that are always on hand. My wife has severe dementia but I feel that my wife is in good hands and is being looked after well in a peaceful environment

All staff do everything in their power to ensure that residents are completely cared for, challenged and live as active a life as they are able. Many staff even use their own spare time to enhance the environment for residents. It is like residents are living with family.

I take my dog Skye into Eastwood Court once a fortnight. She is a therapet, so we visit any residents who like dogs. This service is organised by the activities team. I find the care home staff extremely friendly and organised, communication and flexibility with our visits is key, and works on both sides (mine & theirs). I am escorted round the home, as the safety of everyone is paramount. The best part of our visits is seeing the residents' positive reactions to Skye (all smiles & laughter)!

My mother has been a resident at Eastwood Court Care Home for a few years now and our experience has been excellent. The staff are consistently caring, helpful, and attentive to her needs. It is clear that they prioritise the well-being of their residents. Communication with our family is great, and we feel very lucky to have found such a dedicated team to look after her. In addition I would like to add the management team always go the extra mile to help.

My mother sadly passed away after almost 4 years at Eastwood Court. Her care has been nothing but exceptional and exemplary. The love and care provided by all the staff involved has warmed my heart. It has given me peace. She did not pass alone even though I could not get there in time. I was kept informed at all stages of her last few weeks. I can only thank each and every one of the staff. Don't underestimate the difference you all make. You made a difference to my mother's life, and indeed mine too. Thank you, from my heart.

My dad is in Eastwood Court, he is being well looked after, staff are very attentive with him. They are also great at keeping us as a family well informed.

Absolutely relieved that my gran is now being so well looked after. It has been a journey finding a caring environment for my gran. The staff go beyond their role in ensuring my gran is clean, supported and cared for like a family member instead of a resident. The clinical lead is fantastic in communicating with us...regular updates are conversed in a friendly caring manner at all times.

My father-in-law has been a resident of Eastwood Court for nearly 10 years and I could not be happier with the standard of care he has received. The staff are so kind and he is incredibly well looked after. Activities are varied and fun and he very much enjoys meal times. My family credits Eastwood Court for improving my father's quality of life.

My mother has been in Eastwood care home for just over one year. My wife and I have found that my mother has received excellent care. My mother is very fussy about what she eats, and if she gets something she doesn't like, they will change it without any fuss. They are very accommodating. I tend to visit at sporadic times and I always find the staff accommodating, and her room spotlessly clean. The staff can't do enough for her and I am incredibly grateful for her excellent care.

Cannot fault this care home, they provided exceptional care for my uncle during his time at Eastwood Court. The clinical lead went above and beyond to ensure his needs were met and the family were made to feel welcome each time they arrived. If needed, I would use this care home for any other relatives requiring care away from home. Highly recommend! Thanks again all.

I'm very appalled at the duty of care regarding my mother-in-law. I went to visit she was covered in bruises, when I asked the staff no one could tell me why, nothing was written in her care notes or marked on her body map sheet. She has to drink out of a sippy cup and again she is sitting with a cup of tea. When I mention to staff they say they don't know. The staff is atrocious and it is always pass the buck. No duty of care whatsoever, the assistant manager fobbs everything off and the manager just doesn't care and can't be bothered coming to meetings either regarding these issues. Absolutely disgusted at the stage I wouldn't even trust them with my dog. A horrible place should be shut down!

Permanent care staff and agency nurses are generally excellent. However non-regular agency carers can be poor due to inexperience, unfamiliar with resident's needs and sometimes appear to have a poor work ethic.

My mother has been very happy here and the staff have built up a good rapport throughout her stay.

The staff are great and do their best to make things comfortable. The dining room is good for residents to have contact with others. Cleanliness is great and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Think the food could be better- more fruit and veg and less chips.
