Overall, we are very happy with the care our mother is getting.
The biggest problem is our mother not understanding the staff when making conversation with her.
At this time, the activities are very sparse.
In future, when more residents arrive, parking is going to be a problem.
We would like
to give a special mention for Leigh at the care home, for her help and advice. Our mother has really taken to Leigh, and can make a conversation with her and our mother understands her.

The pre christmas carol service was superb, quite loud in the Lounge too loud for some so the wonderful staff and manager went off and came back with chairs for us and put us in the corridor in view of the local band. Sitting next to my wife, I saw that she was now enjoying herself - even trying to
sing along with the band. The staff at all times were very attentive to make sure my wife was okay - 'she was'. I've never seen her smile so much. Following the carol service, we went into the dining room where a finger buffet had been laid out, such a wonderful sight so much to choose from - the kitchen staff had prepared for a taster - needless it was a wonderful day, my wife really enjoyed it, never seen her smile so much in years. Thank you.
Reply from Thomas Joseph, Manager at Cherry Grove Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt message with us. We are truly delighted to hear how much you and your wife enjoyed the pre-Christmas carol service. It means a great deal to know that our team were able to respond quickly and make you both comfortable, and that your wife was able to relax, enjoy the music, and even sing along. Hearing that you saw her smile so much is incredibly special, and it is moments like these that our staff work so hard to create. We are also very pleased that you enjoyed the finger buffet and that the kitchen team's efforts added to what sounds like a truly memorable day. Your kind words will be shared with all the staff involved, who will be very proud to know the difference they made. Thank you once again for your lovely feedback. We are so glad the day brought such happiness, and we look forward to welcoming you both again soon.

I would highly recommend the Cherry Grove Care Home for their excellent standards of care and welcoming atmosphere. There is a large bright reception , lounge, dining area, several courtyards, a hairdressing salon and a laundry. There are many activities organised by the staff such as music and games
and everyone is encouraged to join in. The Care Home offers a high level of medical care with a nurse available 24 hours a day which is very reassuring. I have found that the nurses work very hard with the local doctors surgery to meet the resident's medical needs - the nurses have helped my mother to manage her pain effectively which has improved my mother's quality of life enormously. Also the carers have assisted me in choosing a suitable wheelchair which has enabled my mother to move more easily to the dining room and hairdresser. All the carers are so kind and gentle and make every effort to make things easier for the residents.

After recently moving into Cherry Grove Care Home, I am extremely pleased with how well my mother-in-law is settling in.
The Care Home have been absolutely great. They are so supportive to her and our family, and nothing is too much trouble. She is happy there, and is eating really well. Cherry Grove
staff keep me informed about every step of her care, and go out of their way to help.

From the moment my dear mum was transferred to Midfield Lodge for end of life palliative care, she was treated with the deepest gentleness, care, respect, dignity and compassion. I could not have wished for a more caring, loving space for my mum to transition.
Every single member of staff from senior
management, administration, reception, registered nursing staff, carers, cooks, service, cleaning, wellness and everything in between were some of the nicest human beings I've ever had the privilege of meeting, let alone cared for by.
Not only did the staff take the most precious care of my mother, but folded us in their warm embrace and walked us through the 4 weeks of my Mums end journey with such tenderness and professionalism.
I do not think there is anywhere else in the world with so many extraordinary people congregated in one place with just one mission - to ease the pain and suffering of those end days, for the residents and their loved ones.

What an exceptional Care home!
Where do they find these people?
Every one of these staff were extraordinarily kind and compassionate towards my mother for the four weeks and six days she spent there. She arrived from her previous home with bed sores which they managed to treat and get rid of very
quickly.
I live in the USA and from the moment I arrived to visit my mother I could tell she was in good hands. In the last few days as she entered the actively dying stage is when they really shone, providing not only my mother with kind and compassionate care but also my family, explaining the dying process and providing support and guidance and comfort.
After she passed this morning they continued to provide compassionate care and assistance with a beautiful dignified send off from the staff.
Thank you to all the staff.
I will grateful to you all for ever.

Mum moved into Midfield Lodge in late March and settled in very well. We had initial concerns about mum going into a nursing home given her severe lack of mobility and loss of sight. However we need not have worried and we cannot praise the care and compassion she received highly enough. Mum passed
away peacefully in July as received exceptional care at all times. Also the staff made family members welcome and were there for us at the end. With thanks and gratitude. K and A.

My husband came to Midfield Lodge after a period of assessments at the Hospice. He was very sick with a brain tumour and bedridden. The staff were, without exception, kind, caring and patient. The family was welcomed, given cups of tea and coffee, and because I spent long days there, even had lunch.
If I had a small criticism, it would be that the busy staff were not always able to respond immediately to a buzzer, but when I asked for help, it came quickly. End of life was handled sensitively and kindly. My husband received an angel and a heart for his spiritual journey onwards.

My mother came to Midfield Lodge for 2 weeks of respite care following a fall and a stay in hospital. This was a home that we knew by reputation as it has cared for several people in our village. The initial contact was very easy and the assessment carried out with a speed that was impressive. From
contact to residency was 48 hours. This was very important to us as the care in hospital was poor and she was deteriorating in every sense. We needed to get her out quickly and Midfield Lodge helped us with this. On arrival she took a few days to settle and think about joining in the activities. Once she did this everything changed, she began to make friends and it was clear to us that she was healing both physically but also emotionally. She had her 92nd birthday there and the staff made her a cake and provided a tea for us all. Overall, the care she received was excellent and if we need her to go into a care home again we would choose this one.

The carers and nurses certainly went above and beyond their duties to help my mother. Such a friendly atmosphere, just one big family, and everyone cared for each other. The food was excellent and made on-site. I was worried about my mother going into a home, as she had Alzheimer's, but she blossomed
in there. She loved all of the carers. Excellent care and service. I was always made welcome on my many visits. Thank you to all.

Mum was in Midfield Lodge Care Home for approx 18 months. I found the staff were excellent, kind and caring. The managers and nursing staff kept me well updated of any issues. If I wanted to know anything they were always there with an open door. Also, there is a good choice of lunch menu. When Mum
passed away I couldn't wish for any better support than I received from all the staff.

Our dad was admitted to Midfield Lodge following an extended stay in Hospital. Dad's dementia had taken a nosedive and our concerned family was immediately comforted by the huge amount of care, kindness, support and dedication shown by the whole team. Even though Dad couldn't communicate in the usual
way any more, the staff managed to work out what a lovely fella he was.
They've also shown great friendship to my mum who visited several times a week as she was missing dad at home so much.
Sadly Dad's journey ended earlier this year and the beautiful calm and kind manner in which Midfield managed his passing has been truly comforting to our family. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful last 4 months of his life - thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My mother has dementia. It became dangerous for her to stay in her flat. She was confused. This home has taken such excellent care of her. She has settled in and enjoys the activities and is making friends. The room, although small is beautiful with an en-suite bathroom. The care staff are exceptional
from the admin to the manager and activities ladies and the carers and nurses. I could not be happier with the way my mother is taken care of. I love the way the courtyard is totally safe and a beautiful place to sit in. I would recommend Midfield Lodge.

I found this home to be very good with looking after my dad, in his final months. He moved here from his previous care home that had to close and I can say the care and friendliness were 100% better than the previous home. They treated him as if he was a family member, respecting his wishes and left
him alone when he wanted this. The food was excellent, even my dad said it was fine, which was a compliment from him being a chef in the past. I could happily recommend this home.

My brother received excellent care. The staff were friendly, sympathetic, and caring at all times. The layout of rooms around a courtyard means staff are more visible, reducing isolation for the bedbound. Thank you to all.

My Mum went into Midfield Lodge for 8 weeks following a 6-week spell in hospital. The staff were incredibly compassionate and competent. The end-of-life care she received was first-class and addressed all her needs. We are very grateful for all the help she received at Midfield Lodge. We considered
a number of care homes and we were very pleased with our choice of Midfield Lodge.

Cannot praise Midfield Lodge enough. As a visitor, I was looked after, offered refreshments and tea/coffee.
My wife's last days were made more bearable by the fantastic treatment she received.
