The staff at ML are extremely friendly and kind. My mother has only been a resident for a short while but they assisted her greatly in settling in. She very much enjoys the arranged activities and interacting with the other residents. She loves the food and has actually put weight on.

Midfield lodge building is old & could do with renovation work. Particularly bedrooms and bathrooms. My mother's bathroom is very old & in dire need of retiling & redecorating. Staff are caring and look after mum well. The Activities staff are excellent. Always arranging crafts & various entertainments, staff are all very friendly and welcoming.

Our mother who has Parkinson's disease has lived at Midfield Lodge for 15 months, and we are very grateful for the high standard of care she receives. All of the staff ( no matter their role ) are very kind, caring and attentive, always treating her with the utmost dignity and respect. Where any issues have arisen, as nowhere is perfect, the administrator and the management team have been highly approachable in getting them resolved. In addition, the management team provide regular relative meetings plus support group sessions for family which are informative and invaluable for all who attend. We appreciate that we can visit at any time, which adds to the warm, welcoming environment. It is comforting knowing she is in such safe and compassionate hands.

I am very impressed with Midfield. The staff do their best to make a difficult situation the best it can be. There is an overall sense of calm and caring with the needs of residents met with compassion and understanding. The layout of the building is pleasant, clean and without any smells. In fact there are no criticisms I can make.

I like being able to sit in the garden when the weather's good, nothing worse than being indoors on a summer day. When living alone it's a bonus to be able to mix and make friends with other residents. The staff are are very helpful and friendly and I feel safe living here rather than in the detached house, living on my own. The food is nicely cooked, like home cooking.

I thought the nursing and care staff at Midfield Lodge Care Home provided good care to my mother during her eight-month stay. She was kept clean, and meals were provided for her regularly. All staff were friendly, and my mother was checked at regular intervals. I feel all care standards were met. My mother was offered encouragement to get up and sit in the lounge, and activities were offered to her.

My Brother-in=law was a resident at Midfield Lodge for three weeks where he received end of life palliative care. The care he received from carers and nursing staff was excellent. (I would especially like to mention the senior night nurse on duty most nights who went above and beyond). My Brother-in-law was treated with the utmost respect as were we. Anything that we asked for was given with a smile and we seldom had to ask twice. We felt that nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. They recognised when we wanted time alone with him but still made sure they checked that we had everything we needed. The Administrator was on hand and easily approachable to answer any queries we had. Overall we are very grateful to everyone at Midfield Lodge who made this sad time a little more bearable.

What an exceptional Care home!
Where do they find these people?
Every one of these staff were extraordinarily kind and compassionate towards my mother for the four weeks and six days she spent there. She arrived from her previous home with bed sores which they managed to treat and get rid of very quickly.
I live in the USA and from the moment I arrived to visit my mother I could tell she was in good hands. In the last few days as she entered the actively dying stage is when they really shone, providing not only my mother with kind and compassionate care but also my family, explaining the dying process and providing support and guidance and comfort.
After she passed this morning they continued to provide compassionate care and assistance with a beautiful dignified send off from the staff.
Thank you to all the staff.

I will grateful to you all for ever.

From the moment my dear mum was transferred to Midfield Lodge for end of life palliative care, she was treated with the deepest gentleness, care, respect, dignity and compassion. I could not have wished for a more caring, loving space for my mum to transition.

Every single member of staff from senior management, administration, reception, registered nursing staff, carers, cooks, service, cleaning, wellness and everything in between were some of the nicest human beings I've ever had the privilege of meeting, let alone cared for by.

Not only did the staff take the most precious care of my mother, but folded us in their warm embrace and walked us through the 4 weeks of my Mums end journey with such tenderness and professionalism.

I do not think there is anywhere else in the world with so many extraordinary people congregated in one place with just one mission - to ease the pain and suffering of those end days, for the residents and their loved ones.

I am eternally grateful for this.

Mum moved into Midfield Lodge in late March and settled in very well. We had initial concerns about mum going into a nursing home given her severe lack of mobility and loss of sight. However we need not have worried and we cannot praise the care and compassion she received highly enough. Mum passed away peacefully in July as received exceptional care at all times. Also the staff made family members welcome and were there for us at the end. With thanks and gratitude. K and A.

My husband came to Midfield Lodge after a period of assessments at the Hospice. He was very sick with a brain tumour and bedridden. The staff were, without exception, kind, caring and patient. The family was welcomed, given cups of tea and coffee, and because I spent long days there, even had lunch. If I had a small criticism, it would be that the busy staff were not always able to respond immediately to a buzzer, but when I asked for help, it came quickly. End of life was handled sensitively and kindly. My husband received an angel and a heart for his spiritual journey onwards.

My mother came to Midfield Lodge for 2 weeks of respite care following a fall and a stay in hospital. This was a home that we knew by reputation as it has cared for several people in our village. The initial contact was very easy and the assessment carried out with a speed that was impressive. From contact to residency was 48 hours. This was very important to us as the care in hospital was poor and she was deteriorating in every sense. We needed to get her out quickly and Midfield Lodge helped us with this. On arrival she took a few days to settle and think about joining in the activities. Once she did this everything changed, she began to make friends and it was clear to us that she was healing both physically but also emotionally. She had her 92nd birthday there and the staff made her a cake and provided a tea for us all. Overall, the care she received was excellent and if we need her to go into a care home again we would choose this one.

The carers and nurses certainly went above and beyond their duties to help my mother. Such a friendly atmosphere, just one big family, and everyone cared for each other. The food was excellent and made on-site. I was worried about my mother going into a home, as she had Alzheimer's, but she blossomed in there. She loved all of the carers. Excellent care and service. I was always made welcome on my many visits. Thank you to all.
