My father had end-of-life palliative care at Midfield Lodge for a few months earlier this year. The staff were compassionate, engaged and friendly. The food quality was good and the rooms clean. There were good activities on offer and a reasonable staff ratio. In difficult circumstances, they did a
valuable, expert and kind job.

The support offered to us as a family at a very hard time was amazing.

The recent refurbishment has lifted the home.
Open visiting and the chance to stay with our relative overnight at this difficult time was just what we needed.

Friendly, caring staff, many of who have worked at Midfield Lodge for some time, made for a great environment for my relative to see out her final months. The level of care was so heartening it meant that the family had no concerns about the choice of care home, knowing that she was in good hands. The
home provided all that we could have asked for, which was especially appreciated as Covid was still an issue to the outside world during her time there. Grateful thanks from the family.

In January my husband had a chest infection, he deteriorated and was taken to the hospital, where he spent 6 days having treatment. The staff's speedy action in getting him into the hospital is the reason he's still here.
I can't thank them enough. His care and wellbeing are wonderful.
He has been
at Midfield Lodge Care Home since May 2022 and I'm thankful he's there. His care has been excellent and the staff are brilliant.

During the four week stay my father in law had for end of life care was fantastic, the senior nurse, night nurse, the care team and the administrator really was all amazing, they was friendly, chatty, always made you feel welcome, and most importantly nothing was too much trouble. The attention, care,
compassion and dignity, given to my father in law and our family during the difficult time was incredible. They always kept you informed and would put you at ease and answer any questions you had.
I cannot thank them enough for how accommodating they was to all the family and how well they looked after us as a family also.
It was lovely seeing the residents interacting with the staff and doing different activities and tasks.
Quite a few of the staff have been at Midfield Lodge Care Home a long time and that says something.

Mum has been very happy since she has been in the home. The care and attention have been very good and have helped Mum to settle in. The activities ladies are particularly patient and do some lovely work with all the residents.

Today's visit was for my mother's hundredth birthday and the staff were magnificent and done her proud.
The staff also arranged for the mayor to attend and Mum was overwhelmed and loved his visit.
Big thank you to all staff who put balloons and cards on display and also to the person who made a wonderful
birthday cake.
I know Mum didn’t want a fuss but she thoroughly enjoyed all what the staff did for her, so thank you.
Thanks to all the other residents who made birthday cards for her.

My mum spent just over 8 weeks here at Midfield Lodge as an end-of-life patient.
She was given all the care and attention she needed and more all within a friendly and patient-focused environment. The care staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble.
Her room had all the facilities needed and
was always kept clean and tidy.

Thank you for the excellent care received by my husband during the last month of his life. As well as catering to his many needs with good humour and compassion, they ensured that he had meals and drinks that he could enjoy consuming. All the staff were friendly and compassionate towards the family
during our difficult times and kept us going with coffee, cake and biscuits and were always ready to answer any questions we might have. Although my husband was too ill to take part in the activities, he appreciated the quiet, restful atmosphere and the ever cheerful staff.

Thanks to the team you are all amazing and Mum loved it there. You were all so kind to her, One member of staff even accepted that Mum called him by a nickname. You do a super job, and one staff member, in particular, is such a special person to her. If you need those socks sorting again just shout.

My husband went into Midfield Lodge for respite in mid November 2021, I cannot praise the staff enough for the care and friendship both he and I received. He sadly passed away in mid January, rather suddenly and the support I was given was remarkable - so kind, caring and total understanding of my feelings.
I cannot recommend Midfield highly enough. Staff are friendly, informative and understanding of their residents and their relative's varied needs.
I have a good understanding of the quality of care, my sister had been a resident for 4 years, and I was impressed enough to ask them to care for my husband as well. Thank you to every one of the staff.

Everyone is friendly and helpful. Food - more than I can consume and always with a choice. The room is excellent and compact and I've an excellent room overlooking the gazebo so I can watch the squirrels and rabbits just like home.
There seems no restrictions on visitors other than the usual COVID
test on entering. The amount of time my visitor can stay is unlimited unlike where my husband is. Brilliant!

Not the smartest of homes, but they do what really matters. The senior nurses lead their team with great emotional intelligence, so the residents are understood as people. This plus compassionate and technically excellent physical care add up to an experience I would recommend.

Our cousin hasn't been in here too long, but we are quite satisfied with his care. Staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful and he is responding to all the care they are giving him here. He is eating and drinking much better.
