Words cannot adequately express how grateful our family is for the kind, compassionate and dedicated care given to our mother by the whole team at The Pines. The ambience at The Pines is wonderful and the team somehow manage to maintain a calm, professional and happy atmosphere under difficult circumstances. Our mother was treated with patience and kindness during her seven-week stay and was allowed peace and dignity during her final hours. For that, her family will be forever thankful. I can recommend this clean and pleasant care home unreservedly.

My mother-in-law stayed here for 12 weeks respite while we had her flat adapted and I can't thank the staff and management enough for her exceptional treatment and care. My mother-in-law's health has been declining and when we admitted her to The Pines for respite she was very unhappy and not willing to participate in anything. After her first weeks stay she was like a different person and more like the woman she was. She really enjoyed the social aspect of the home and joined in the daily activities, it was so great to see her out of bed and having fun. She especially enjoyed the resident dogs at the home!

The nursing care given to her has given her a new lease of life and she did not want to return home at the end of her stay, we felt so at ease knowing she was being so well cared for and if the need arises for her to come to a nursing home on a permanent basis the pines will definitely be the one we choose.

I was hesitant to move into The Pines Nursing Home as anyone older would be and also coping with being poorly. I found that very soon, the warm and concern of the Carers was supportive and keen to help you relax. The atmosphere is positive and of course, there are human errors occasionally, that all put right as soon as possible.

Food is an important item option in all care and The Pines staff do adapt and I think care homes should changes their suppliers occasionally for stimulation. Very good altogether.

My mother went into the home last November quite poorly after two stays in hospital and being 92 years old, we didn’t think she would improve but due to the way she was cared for by everyone there, not only did she get better, she was well enough for me to bring home. A big thank you to everyone and all their kindness to my mum. If you are thinking of a home for anybody you will not do better than The Pines.

My mother was a resident for under one year and died at the home. During her stay, the staff were respectful of her and made her feel that they genuinely enjoyed having her as a resident. When she was dying, nothing was too much trouble for the staff to do for mum and for the family.

My sister lives nearby, but as a registered nurse and living so far away in Australia, the high standard of care provided was very important to me.

I have found the staff in every area very helpful, very dedicated and very caring. My mum has taken a while to settle here and the nurses and carers have been very supportive and encouraging. The facilities are good and plenty of entertainment is provided. Mum is encouraged to socialise every day, although she doesn't always take part she is encouraged to!

We knew as soon as we stepped in and met the staff this was the perfect place for mum.
All the staff are welcoming knowledgeable and caring. We knew that mum would feel at home here. The tour of the home was informative and we met staff and paying guests. We were delighted to meet dogs and that dogs would be welcome to visit.

The rooms and ensuites are lovely each with its own front door. The care is excellent. Nothing appears to be too much trouble. Mum loves the food and enjoys the many varied activities that are arranged each day. All the staff empathise with the guests and Gracewell is a brilliant example of what teamwork can achieve and has exceeded expectations.

Overall Experience
My brother spent 3 months in Gracewell of Hove and he was treated with dignity and care. As his health declined the carers showed great kindness and sensitivity. His needs were met with thoughtful and concerned professionalism.
The overall level of day to day management of his condition was dispensed where nothing was too much trouble.

The staff showed genuine kindness toward my brother as a person, not just as a 'case' or 'problem' to be dealt with.

Mum was only briefly in Gracewell of Hove for four weeks in total. She was there after a very stressful period in and out of the hospital. The home could not have been nicer efficient in admissions process welcoming caring, cheerful and professional in dealing with her and they handled her passing away with great sensitivity.

I have been visiting my friend at her home in Gracewell of Hove on a weekly basis since she moved there in June 2016. She seems at home and generally content whenever I visit, albeit with a few minor grumbles each time (e.g that the staff have not made her bed as she would like). The staff are always friendly and helpful and my friend appears to be well cared for. I cannot comment on the management because I have had almost no contact with any of the managers. The lift was out of operation for several months in 2016, which meant that my friend was unable to leave the property for most of that time.

My mother has lived at Gracewell of Hove for over four years. She has Alzheimer's disease. She is very well looked after. All aspects of her care are thorough and professional and she is treated with dignity and gentleness. She is encouraged to join in with social activities and to talk with others. The staff- all of them- are caring, kind and approachable. Family are kept fully informed of any change. My mother's room is very well situated within the home and she is within easy view of staff when they pass by. The room is always clean and bright and properly equipped. Gracewell of Hove is a lovely home with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

A very friendly and homely feel to the home. Plenty of staff on-site all of whom are helpful and professional. A very clean environment. The menu choices are varied and the food is excellent. Residents are treated with respect and no matter when we visit them are always pleasant and efficient. A great plug is the fact there are always plenty of activities for residents.

My mother has been extremely ill over the last year and without the exemplary care and dedication of the team at Gracewell of Hove we would have lost her. The home is more like a hotel, with lovely public areas and mum's room overlooks a busy park which keeps her entertained. We enjoy visiting and are always made very welcome even if it has been a while (I live 250 miles away) with free drinks and meals available if ordered in advance. We hope mum will continue to stay here until her demise as she is finally truly happy and being cared for excellently.
