Every member of staff is caring and welcoming. Including kitchen, maintenance, housekeeping who are all helpful and friendly. Nursing is attentive and on the ball with the smallest of issues attended to with utmost care and efficiency. Carers are all exactly that, caring in a professional but loving and caring way.
Activities and entertainment are ongoing, stimulating and delivered with enthusiasm and fun from both internal staff and external providers.
Food and drink is excellent and prepared thoughtfully to high standards.
Importantly Country Lodge is full of laughter, and a loving atmosphere with exemplary care. Not only is it a happy home for residents but also for visiting families and friends which is much appreciated.
My mother came to Country Lodge in May 2024 and has received top class care during the past two years. The staff are very attentive at all times and my mother often comments on how good the home cooked food is. Thursday afternoons are fun in the lounge when indoor bowls are played and the exercise classes are great. I can say hand on heart that my mother is thriving.
I went into Country Lodge for respite care when I left hospital. I found Country Lodge excellent in every respect. The staff were wonderful. When I need full time care I hope to be able to be a permanent resident.
Thank you so much for your kind words - I'm so glad your respite care was enjoyable! Please come again!
The staff are excellent and really care about her. They are always checking on her as she prefers to stay in her room. I know that they will let me know if there is a problem with my Mum's health.
I never worry about my Mum. I live in the West Country so am not on her doorstep. I can phone her whenever I want.
I enjoy visiting her as the staff are always welcoming.
Dear Jose, thank you so much for your encouraging comments - it is a real privilege to care for your mother. We look forward to seeing you soon!
I walked into a game, crossword, the events manager so bubbly. Once I put my gifts down, I got stuck in - not a fan of crosswords, however I had fun with Aunty! Lunch looked amazing, hunters chicken Wow! Everyone tucked in, even Lyla, my dog had some. Feeling very at home. A young operatic singer came to entertain, very inspiring beautiful voice. Aunty sang along - FAB! Cake & tea arrived, delicious - love this place as does Aunty.
Dear Karen, thank you so much for your kind words - they are such an encouragement to all staff. We are so glad your Aunt is happy at Country Lodge!
I would just like to thank you for looking after and caring for my brother. His change of circumstance happened very suddenly. He seems to have adjusted well enough and settled into his new surroundings. I really do want to thank you for the care and attention he receives. You care home has such a welcoming atmosphere all the staff are so pleasant and helpful and the food is outstanding. We have enjoyed a few meals ourselves. Excellent thank you. Set in such lovely surroundings for your residents to enjoy and the entertainments is excellent.
Mum has really settled in well and this is pureply down to how lovely the home is but mainly due to how wonderful each and every member of staff is. It is a nice experience for me and my sisters when we visit as we are made so welcome too. Mum didn't ever want to go into a nursing home but now she loves it which makes us so happy. We 100% recommend.
We found this home back in January 2024. I can only praise all the staff who look after my godmother. It is really a home from home and the care all the residents get is second to none. The entertainment they enjoy are brilliant thank you.
All of the staff are, as ever, kind and understanding. The manager and admin staff are extremely helpful. The hard-working nurses are also very helpful and communicate well. The assistants are always very patient and kind to my, sometimes rather difficult, mum. Place is very well maintained and the food is excellent. Very impressed.
The staff and home is very good and my mum is very happy. Your care staff are a credit.
Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. We really appreciate them.
As Mum passed so unexpectedly, both my sister and I were not there at the moment of transition, so it was of great comfort to us that a number of you stayed by Mum's side whilst she gently slipped away, not just because it was part of your role, but because you genuinely cared for Mum, which was obvious in the upset we witnessed when we came to say goodbye to Mum.
Mum never felt at home in any other care home, but you made her feel totally at home, thank you all so much for everything you did for her, our biggest regret is that we didn't know about this amazing home sooner.
Please keep up the great work and God bless you all.
Thank you for your kind and encouraging words. Your mother was a much-loved resident and will be dearly missed by all. Warmest regards, the Staff Team at Country Lodge.
This beautiful nursing home is filled with love and warmth. The staff are always joyful and this reflects throughout. Our Mother is thriving and happy and this is due to the genuine loving care from all the wonderful staff who openly show their affection to her and from the freshly cooked nutritious meals which Mum loves, and now enjoys food! As relatives, we are made welcome and a part of the Country Lodge family. We are so grateful, and Mum is enjoying her 'extended' family life. There is nothing too beat it. It is just wonderful.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words. We are very grateful to you.
It's not just the 'big' important things they get right - the nursing home is spotlessly clean, the level of care from the staff is exemplary and the food is well thought out/prepared [even down to really good homemade cakes with afternoon tea]. But for me, it's also the attention to detail, the beautiful garden at the back of the lounge or the way on arrival whoever lets you in always does it with a smile.
Dear Neal, Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate you taking the time to review us.
It is a wonderful place to visit. I spend a lot of time with my husband. He is end-of-life care. Ther staff and nurses are wonderful and so caring and friendly. I couldn't ask for a better place for my husband and I feel very blessed with the help we are getting.
Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. It is such a privilege to care for your husband.
The hospital recommended Mum needed a nursing home. We are so pleased we chose Country Lodge for our Mum. Outstanding in so many ways! There is such a high standard of care and welfare needs. It is a bonus that the home is set in beautiful surroundings.
Our father spent two months in Country Lodge Nursing Home and had complex needs, but we were extremely happy with every aspect of the home, which we found to be outstanding. Every member of staff was caring, knowledgeable, hardworking and patient. We cannot rate it highly enough. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for your kind words - they are such an encouragement to the team! It was a privilege to care for your father.
We were so impressed with the cleanliness of the whole home, it always smelt so clean, which was a wonderful thing.
Would definitely recommend the home to another person if ever I was asked.
So grateful to them all.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. It was a pleasure looking after your dad.
I moved Mum locally on 15th May 2023 only because the journey is 4 hours each way. The staff were so very helpful in preparing Mum to leave, and in helping me to organise the move including helping me with a personalised care plan for the ambulance crew providing Mum and me with a lovely goodbye and a packed lunch.
The rooms and the gardens and view are second to none. When you are inside you forget you are near the main road and are transported to the landscape with the absolutely beautiful garden in the foreground view. The lady gardener is very friendly and lovely to talk to as is everyone at this friendly care home.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review for us. It was a pleasure caring for your mum and helping you figure it all out. We wish you both well for the future.
My father was treated with great respect and dignity during this period of time and beyond, couldn't have wished for a better nursing home for him than Country Lodge. From the activities to the meals, to the care and to the general love that he got from the home. Although nonverbal you could tell my father found life there very comforting, nothing was ever too much trouble and as a family we are truly grateful to have found this lovely place.
Thank you for leaving us such a great review. It has been an honour to have your father live with us.
My father-in-law has been a resident at Country Lodge Nursing Home for the last six months. During this time the staff have been so kind and caring. They have gone above and beyond to make him as comfortable and happy as possible. Nothing is too much trouble for them and he is treated at all times with care, dignity and respect.
