To the managers and everyone involved in his care thank you.
Dad has been in Care for Veterans for 3 weeks respite. The staff are especially welcoming and have taken great care of dad. It exceeded our expectations and we would happily use the service again and would highly recommend it. Dad has absolutely thrived during his short stay there.
Thank you for leaving such a lovely review. We are so pleased that your father has benefited from staying with us. It has been a privilege to be able to assist and support him and he is welcome again at any time.
It is a shame that all care facilities are not up to this standard.
Thank you for the care you are giving.
Thank you so much for taking the time to add a review for Care for Veterans. We are so glad that you recognise that the activities and environment provide a welcome and engaging space. We very much encourage a fulfilling home for all of our residents to enjoy as part of our high standard of care.
I can not fault it in any way , the care they give is exceptional, they all go above and beyond their role within the care home , and I know my brother is safe within their care, every single member of staff are professional, happy , friendly and treat my brother as tho he was the only person they care for, he is very happy there . The care home is very clean and always tidy .The food is very good too.
I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit my brother , there is also a lovely family feeling amongst all the staff.
The care home provide a wide range of activities and put on entertainment for the residents, I could definitely not find a better place for my brother to be cared for .
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review for us and for your kind comments. I am so pleased that you are so happy with the care your brother is receiving. I will make sure your compliments are passed onto the staff who provide the care.
I cannot praise the care and support staff at Care For Veterans enough. My mother is very happy at the home and we, as a family, have every confidence that her needs are all being met with compassion and respect. Thank you to all at CFV
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a positive review. Your mum has been with us for so long, she is very much part of the family! I will make sure your kind comments are passed onto the care staff.
My son has now been at Care for Veterans for 2.5 years and I wouldn't wish for him to be anywhere else. The care is superb. The staff are exceedingly friendly and accommodating. My son is a complex case and unable to communicate but the staff all talk to him as normal, and have gotten familiar with his nuances, as if they were his family. The home itself has a wide range of facilities, and although he is unable to participate with all of them, he is always considered. They have in-house physio and the team there are commendable, working with him and helping him to improve. Communication from the team is excellent, with ourselves being kept abreast of his progress. Although my son is unable to attend the dining room, I have noted how well it is laid out and feels more homely, with residents even able to have a glass of wine with dinner. Even the facilities management team have a personal approach, always saying hello direct to my son and engaging with him. Couldn't wish for better.
Thank you for leaving such a positive review and for your kind words. I am so pleased that your son is benefitting from some of the therapies available to him. I will pass your kind comments onto the staff involved.
Care for Veterans is a wonderful care home. They really do care about the residents welfare and wellbeing. My mother has led a very active life and Care for Veterans has provided stimulation, through a timetable of events in the social hub, physio therapy session and gym classes. They also provide other health care support linked to the NHS, as well as beautician treatments. They actively seek feedback which is acted upon promptly. As you walk around the home staff always great you with a smile, including the reception which runs efficiently. My mother has a chance to go on regular outings and attend community fayres held for seasonal occasions.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us and I am so pleased to hear that your mum is enjoying and benefitting from the therapies and activities on offer. Your kind comments will be passed onto the staff involved in giving daily care and organising the activities.
As a veteran myself, Gifford House was my first thought when the issue of Mum going into care arose and particularly as Mum had, in times past volunteered there. The assessment was carried out very quickly and there was no issue with Mum being eligible and being accepted.
Although we are only in the early weeks of her residency, Mum has benefited from exceptionally attentive care and compassion in a very clean environment. All the staff we have met have been lovely and the nursing care she has received has improved a long-standing issue which is an excellent result.
I can only say that we as a family are very pleased thus far and more than satisfied Mum is in good hands.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely comments and I am so pleased to hear that you have noticed improvements with mum since she has been in our care. I will make sure that your comments are shared with the staff who provide care on a daily basis.
All the staff from the nurses, carers, facilities team, caterers, therapists and administration staff are all pleasant and helpful.
As a family we are all welcomed with smiling faces and the home is really a very happy environment.
The catering is of a good standard with a number choices for each meal and the dining room has seen recent improvements.
The number of recreational activities recently has increased for residents which is welcomed.
Thank you for your very positive review - it has been a pleasure to care for your husband, who always has a smile for everyone. I'm so pleased that you, as a family, feel welcomed when you visit. The increased activities have been very well received by residents and visitors alike.
My daughter has a background in care and says it's the nicest home she's ever been in!
A big thank you to everyone who works at Care for Veterans!
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review and I'm so pleased that you have noticed improvements since mum's admission, that is always our ultimate goal. Your comments will be shared with the staff who deliver the care.
Respect from the carers, helpers, nurses, organisers, managers and above respect from the inmates. Veterans has the right ethnic and social mix. I have nothing but praise.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave a review for us. Your comments will be shared with the staff who take care of you. I am so pleased that your experience at Care for Veterans has been such a positive one.
Over the period of time my son has been in care, the staff have come to know him and can quickly identify any health problem. They understand what is "normal" for him and when things are not quite right. I feel this personal knowledge is vital in the care needed for multiple health issues and I continue to be so very grateful for their attention to detail, which makes so much difference to the life of someone so dependant.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave us a review. It is our pleasure to be able to look after your son. I will ensure that your compliments are passed onto the staff who deliver the care.
My brother has been resident in two areas of this care home and has been looked after very well. I have found all the staff to be caring and competent despite his personal physical and mental deterioration.
Thank you for your comments and for taking the time to leave us a review. I am pleased we were able to continue to provide care for your brother when his needs changed and he was moved to another wing. I will make sure that your kind words are passed onto the staff who deliver his care.
The staff are always available to talk to and you can feel the happy work place.
Thank you for your comments and for taking the time to leave a review. Your brother has been with us for such a long time and is so well thought of by all staff. I will make sure your kind words are passed onto the staff who deliver the care.
My Mum moved here 5 years ago after being in hospital for a year. She has been well looked after, with a high level of Nursing staff. All Nurses and Care workers are kind, caring and loving, and initiate Mums needs well, everything is done in her best interest, they know her very well. All staff from Nurses, care workers, receptionists, maintenance and housekeeping are very welcoming and friendly. There are always activities on in The Hub, and entertainment for the residents. The Nursing staff and care workers are very supportive to us when we visit, and always keep us up to date on Mums health as it changes often. The food menu is home cooked, varied and options are always available. This really is a wonderful home for the residents.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review and we are very pleased to be able to deliver the care your mum needs. I will make sure we pass your kind comments onto the staff who deliver the care as well as all the support staff involved in the day to day running of the home.
7 months on - my husband's condition has deteriorated so significantly that he needs 24 hour care. It was evident that C for V was the perfect place for him to move to on a permanent basis & he was warmly welcomed back by numerous members of staff who remembered him from March. Just 2 weeks on, I am more convinced than ever that our choice of nursing home is spot-on for his needs. Nursing care is exemplary. Staff are incredibly kind, thoughtful, friendly, cheerful & professional & the whole organisation has a stand out 'can do' attitude. Nothing seems too much trouble. They have transformed my own life by relieving me of the stress & responsibility of being a carer - I am a wife again. We can't thank them enough
Thank you for your kind comments and I am so pleased that we have been able to assist on both occasions and help relieve some of your stress. Management will ensure that your compliments are passed onto the staff who deliver the care. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us.
I was very well received by the Administrator who explained everything clearly to me and answered all my questions. A couple of months later the health of my brother deteriorated and he was admitted into the Care Home.
He was extremely well received by all members of the staff and he was so well cared for from day one. He is 93 years of age and he is receiving first class attention from the staff who attend to all his needs as his mobility is very poor.
The home itself is very comfortable, is very well run and gives an atmosphere of calmness and serenity.
It also provides good daycare with the emphasis placed on interesting recreational activities for the residents, so good for their mental health. My brother tells me that the catering arrangements are excellent.
In summary, I am delighted that my brother is treated kindly in a very safe environment
Thank you so much for your very kind comments and positive review. I am so pleased that we were able to cater for your brother's needs and get him into the home in a timely fashion.
My husband has been a resident in Care for Veterans for the past four years. During this time he has had at least 3 bouts of sepsis and amputation of his leg. Whenever he has needed medical intervention it has been summoned quickly & appropriately. His day to day care has been exemplary. I have a nursing background so I am in a position to say the care he & the family receive is second to none. We are greeted with genuine love & warmth whenever we visit.
Thank you for this very positive review, It is heartening to know that the dedication and hard work of the staff is appreciated and I'm so happy that you and your family feel welcome when you visit.
Settling down following recent merger with seemingly greater confidence amongst staff. Sometimes get impression residents do not get sufficient support or consideration to compensate for physical disabilities when partaking in group activities. Although relationship with ward staff contributes greatly to my activities as a befriender my feeling is that I lack some suppot from new management team compared to that with previous regime.
Thank you for your review. We are grateful that you are a befriender to a Resident and support that individual well.In our environment we strive to maintain a balance for equal opportunity for all of our Residents and their preferences and needs. A recent Residents survey gathered information...
My husband had been looked after by Care for Veterans from November 2024 until July 2025. The dedicated care from ALL staff was absolutely amazing. They treated my husband with dignity right up until he sadly passed away on Norfolk ward. I cannot speak highly enough of Care for Veterans, they give the best care in West Sussex. I have to say I'm full of admiration for them all.
Thank you for leaving a review. It was an honour to have been able to care for your husband and ensure that his last few months were as comfortable and as dignified as possible. Your dedication towards him was always so evident and we are so glad to have been here for him and for you. Thank you.
