I'm impressed with the quality of care and the whole environment. Particularly, I would highlight the social activities, medical care and quality of food. The staff are uniformly pleasant and upbeat, and take a personal interest in the residents. We really enjoy going for walks in the well-tended gardens,
and we have used the little room in the garden for private parties. My mother-in-law rates the food highly, especially the home-made soups. The staff are courteous, well trained and encouraging. We feel lucky to have found this residential home with its superior ethos.

The care here is consistently fabulous. My father has severe Alzheimer's been here for just short of 2 years and throughout he has been lovingly cared for - and we also feel supported and cared for when we find it tough. Dad has been settled and content from very early on and his challenges are managed
intelligently, thoughtfully and reflect his changing condition.
The events are varied and inclusive and residents are included and it is evident that the who team at the home understand and believe in the idea of residents doing as much as they are able as long as they are able. Dignity and respect are key too.

My son has now been at Care for Veterans for 2.5 years and I wouldn't wish for him to be anywhere else. The care is superb. The staff are exceedingly friendly and accommodating. My son is a complex case and unable to communicate but the staff all talk to him as normal, and have gotten familiar with
his nuances, as if they were his family. The home itself has a wide range of facilities, and although he is unable to participate with all of them, he is always considered. They have in-house physio and the team there are commendable, working with him and helping him to improve. Communication from the team is excellent, with ourselves being kept abreast of his progress. Although my son is unable to attend the dining room, I have noted how well it is laid out and feels more homely, with residents even able to have a glass of wine with dinner. Even the facilities management team have a personal approach, always saying hello direct to my son and engaging with him. Couldn't wish for better.

Care for Veterans is a wonderful care home. They really do care about the residents welfare and wellbeing. My mother has led a very active life and Care for Veterans has provided stimulation, through a timetable of events in the social hub, physio therapy session and gym classes. They also provide other
health care support linked to the NHS, as well as beautician treatments. They actively seek feedback which is acted upon promptly. As you walk around the home staff always great you with a smile, including the reception which runs efficiently. My mother has a chance to go on regular outings and attend community fayres held for seasonal occasions.

From my initial approach to Care for Veterans Worthing and through to my Mum being accepted into the home both my sister and I have experienced a warm, caring and friendly response.
As a veteran myself, Gifford House was my first thought when the issue of Mum going into care arose and particularly
as Mum had, in times past volunteered there. The assessment was carried out very quickly and there was no issue with Mum being eligible and being accepted.
Although we are only in the early weeks of her residency, Mum has benefited from exceptionally attentive care and compassion in a very clean environment. All the staff we have met have been lovely and the nursing care she has received has improved a long-standing issue which is an excellent result.
I can only say that we as a family are very pleased thus far and more than satisfied Mum is in good hands.

My husband has been a resident for 9.5 years. Throughout that time he has received very good care.
All the staff from the nurses, carers, facilities team, caterers, therapists and administration staff are all pleasant and helpful.
As a family we are all welcomed with smiling faces and the home is
really a very happy environment.
The catering is of a good standard with a number choices for each meal and the dining room has seen recent improvements.
The number of recreational activities recently has increased for residents which is welcomed.

My Mum has recently become a resident. From our initial viewing to see whether we thought it would be a good place for Mum, we were very impressed. The home has such a lovely welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors. My Mum has been made to feel so cared for - she said all the staff have
been so kind and can't do enough for her. Even though she has only been there for a few weeks now, our family have seen an improvement in both her physical appearance and cognitively, as she has more daily activities to participate in. The activities are tailored so that all abilities can join in.
My daughter has a background in care and says it's the nicest home she's ever been in!
