I was extremely nervous being referred to a nursing home, especially as my care was complex. However, I felt completely reassured once I was introduced to the staff and my room. Led by a very competent sister/manager, deputy nurse manager, whose team of nurses, carers, cleaners and catering staff were
the best in my long and varied experience of care I have ever met. They worked brilliantly as a team, nothing was too much trouble. I could go on and on. Head of nurse/sister/manager and her deputies lead a wonderful team by example of dedication, care throughout such hard times, Covid outbreak, norovirus, they worked tirelessly so hard and maintained amazing care. I truly do not know how they managed, everybody pulled together with such kindness and thoughtfulness. I can not thank them enough.

Living abroad and having been restricted to traveling during the confinement period in 2021 I managed to eventually to visit my mother, who has sadly since passed away.
On the very few occasions I was able to visit I found the staff extremely attentive and welcoming. My mother and all the family spoke
highly of the nursing home. One person that will always be in our hearts is the manager, she was Mum's "Angel".

My brother was sent to this nursing home for end of life care. Sadly this was only for two weeks but within that time he was treated with great care, kindness and compassion by everyone.

Our mother was a resident for approximately two and a half years. The staff were friendly and compassionate. They were patient with our mum's obstinacy! The small scale of the home made it more personal. Mum appeared happy and even enjoyed the food. End of life care was sensitive but realistic. All
staff were dedicated and genuinely cared and the whole team was well led. Thank you very much.

Mum tells me they are wonderful here! She had an accident in bed and the staff were very kind 'they changed it and put me back to bed without complaining and walked me back to bed'. They are the cat whiskers (my mother's words). 'A lovely carer painted my nails and made me feel happy, I love it here'.
It is such a pleasure to visit my mother and I feel so welcome! Thank you.

My sister was cared for at Westhampnett House Nursing Home from January to August 2021 while Covid restrictions were in place.
When visiting was allowed under the restrictions we were made extremely welcome into a special area. It was plain to see my sister was well cared for and content in her surroundings.
The manager and all of her staff always went the extra mile and it was comforting for us to know that as my sister's life ebbed away she was at peace, cared for and surrounded by love in a family atmosphere. The considerate loving care we received as a family was well beyond the remit of the home.

The staff provide a high standard of nursing care. They are responsive to my mother's needs and supportive of us visiting and do their very best to accommodate us. They are kind and caring and inform us of any concerns. I am confident that she is very well looked after.

The staff are always friendly and I feel they have done everything they can to keep the residents safe throughout the pandemic. They have started a Newsletter to keep families up to date and in touch with what's happening in the home which we really appreciate. When I visit, there's a special room that
my Aunt is brought to which is very clean and hygienic.

My father spent his final 6 weeks on palliative care at Westhampnett House after being discharged from the hospital. And, wow, what a breath of fresh air the staff are at this home. Even during this very difficult time, the care staff and manager appear to work tirelessly for each resident and also
the residents' families. Top-level dignity and care for my father at all times, with regular updates, especially during his final couple of weeks. The manager is a most wonderful lady and treats families with pure respect and humanity and we cannot thank her and the wonderful team she has working with her, enough. Thank you so very, very much from the heart of all of our family.

My mother was an emergency admission to the home from hospital over 2 years ago. She had dementia, and a history of strokes. She soon settled in, and much enjoyed her stay in the home. She had a very good relationship with all the staff who enjoyed looking after her. She celebrated her 100th birthday
in the home, and died there in June 2020 peacefully.

After visiting several nursing homes in the area for my father-in-law, I visited Westhampnett Nursing Home. First impression was excellent. All staff were so friendly and said 'hello' when I walked past and I observed them assisting residents in a warm, friendly manner. The manager showed me around
and I knew it would be perfect for my father-in-law who had severe heart failure and needed palliative care. The manager worked so hard and managed to arrange for him to be transferred from hospital so quickly, allowing us to take pictures and make it more homely. His room was lovely and the home was spotlessly clean. The first morning they gave him a bath which he loved. Due to the government restrictions (Covid19) we were not able to be with him for his last few days. Again the manager and her team were wonderful and kept in contact with us daily. When he finally passed away, a member of staff sat with him and they made him comfortable and pain-free. I would highly recommend this wonderful nursing home.

The resident died in Westhampnett Nursing Home in January 2020 suffering from Alzheimer's. We had been there for nearly three years and I cannot fault the care that he received. The staff were kind, caring and polite and adjusted to his needs. Previously I had visited at least seven nursing homes in
the area and particularly liked Westhampnett as the staff were so welcoming and the surrounding grounds so beautiful. My only criticism I have is the lack of space in the dining room for the residents, many of whom are in wheelchairs and it is the only space for activities as well as TV.

Staff went out of their way to accommodate my mothers needs. They have been very compassionate and contact the doctor as needed. There could not be enough compliments about the manager and the deputy manager.

My mother was in Westhampnett Nursing Home for just a month where she was cared for perfectly. The staff were fantastic and mum was always so beautifully clean and cared for. The last few days of mums life came so suddenly but she and us were cared for with complete professionalism and dignity. We couldn't
have asked for a better place for mum to spend her last month.

My mother arrived at Westhampnett Nursing Home at the beginning of November 2019 for which would be her last few weeks.
The care and attention that she received was outstanding. All the staff are just wonderful, in particular, the manager who was with my mum at the end, I arrived only a couple of minutes
after. Not only did they show extreme care and kindness to mum, they showed it to myself and my dad as well.
We couldn't have wished for her to be in a better place.
I would also say that the funeral home commented that when she arrived with them "she was immaculate and had quite clearly been very well looked after".
Thank you to everyone involved in my mum's care for those few weeks.

My mother had been a resident at Westhampnett Home for nearly 10 years when she died there peacefully at the end of September. Throughout her time there she has been treated with the utmost care, compassion and dignity. Any medical problems, whether trivial or serious, were dealt with promptly and appropriately,
and if I went away I knew I could trust the staff to look after her with complete confidence.

Having no experience of care/nursing home it was rather daunting for me to choose somewhere for my 94-year-old father. The first few homes offered to me by social services were too far away, an inconvenience to get to easily. Westhampnett Nursing Home was in an ideal position, in an area that we know
well. I was impressed on my first visit, everything was clean, tidy and bright. My father's rooms was very small but adequate but had all he needed. The staff were all very kind, friendly and welcoming.
I am sure he was made as comfortable as possible for his last days. He arrived on Monday 15th July but sadly passed away in the early morning of Wednesday 24th July.

Ginu qualified as a nurse in 1997 and has worked at Westhampnett House Nursing Home as a nurse since 2002.
Ginu was promoted to Registered Manager in 2018 and really enjoys what working at Westhampnett House and says that her role is more than just a job.
Ginu is passionate about individualized care and service delivery and often spends her time supporting residents to ensure that they receive the best possible outcomes.
Ginu leads her team from the front and is very supportive and committed to teaching and coaching her team to perform to the best of their ability.
Ginu creates a homely atmosphere by ensuring she know each resident and team member personally.
