I am pleased to see new staff in senior roles as I felt standards had dropped in recent months. I certainly have faith in the new staff. The carers as always are great, though I feel some could benefit from more training in positioning of residents in chairs/wheelchairs as I frequently find my husband
in a poor position. Glad there is a new lead chef too, as the food has been rather poor.

My wife attended on a one week respite break, suffering from dementia.
She was well looked after and I would have no hesitation in using the service again.

My wife has been a resident of Woodside House care home for just over 8 months and I cannot speak highly enough of the treatment which has been afforded her.
The staff have always been attentive and efficient and mindful of my wife's condition.
I believe we owe my wife's life to the staff at Woodside
because they spotted the first signs of pneumonia when she first arrived in August 2016 and their quick thinking allowed the emergency services to administer antibiotics before the infection was allowed to develop.
Thank you Woodside for looking after my wife so well.

Our mum/mother in law has been in the home since August 16, where we are really pleased with all the help and support we get from the staff when we visit regularly. They could n't be more helpful. She is much safer than living at home, where she was really struggling.

My husband and I have been happy with the care and attention he has received since being admitted in Barchester Woodside House Care Home. I have found the staff to be exceptionally pleasant and approachable and I know my husband feels the same. I have never been concerned about leaving him here and

Mum has been here for 10 days, the place is lovely and clean, all the staff are friendly and helpful. When we asked for staff to take mum to the toilet they did so very quickly - the food looks lovely and the staff are encouraging mum to eat and spend time doing this. All in all we as a family are pleased

My sister has only been in Woodside House for two and a half weeks and so far the care, kindness of the staff to everyone at all times (residents and visitors alike) is outstanding. The food seems very good, the rooms are kept very clean and fresh. The standard of laundry care is excellent. Clothes
all nicely presented when brought back, care obviously taken with them. My expectations of the home has been reached and far exceeded my initial hopes, far better than I could have hoped for in all ways. Thank You.

My name is Sarah and I am proud to be the General Manager here at Woodside House.


I am an experienced nurse and care home manager, having spent many years with both the NHS and Barchester. I love working for Barchester and leading the team at Woodside House in the care and support of residents to provide first-class service that meets their individual needs. We have a truly lovely home and a fantastic team.


My vision is to create a 'home from home' environment, where residents are actively involved in organising events, making decisions, and planning their care.


Our door is always open to visitors who want to experience our family-friendly atmosphere and I am always ready to speak to anyone who is starting to explore their future care needs.

David Jackson

Job Title: Deputy manager Joined: 2024

Hello, my name is David Jackson, and I am the deputy manager/clinical lead at Woodside House. As a deputy, my role is to support Sarah in the running of the home and my clinical lead role is to ensure a high standard of care for our family of residents.


I have been in healthcare in the NHS since 1994 and held many diverse roles within healthcare. I have vast experience in different areas with transferable skills which will allow me to implement high standard care at Woodside House. I am fairly new to the Barchester family and started as a night nurse in September 2024.


I love working for Barchester at Woodside house as there is a great team which feels like one big family. This family creates a warm and caring environment to support and care for our residents and their wider family.

My name is Amy and I joined Woodside House in 2011 as a Registered General Nurse and now I am the Head of Unit for our Willow and Sycamore communities.


I am responsible for ensuring that all of my residents receive the highest standards of care and are treated with the level of dignity and respect that I would want for my family to receive. We have a very experienced team and several of the staff have been here for many years and are great friends with the residents.


We love welcoming new residents and helping them to join our little community, each new person brings their own personality to the mix and it is wonderful to see everyone making new friends as they settle in.

My Name is Nono I have been a Nurse since 2001 originally in my home county of Botswana. I moved to the UK in 2005 and started working in a care home in Dereham. I worked as a Nurse caring for older people before becoming deputy manager in 2012. I moved to Woodside House in February 2023 after hearing of the home's excellent reputation. I have completed my end-of-life enhanced training with the NHS team and I have completed my level 5 Diploma in adult care.

We involve the residents in the planning of our activity calendars and encourage residents to continue with the hobbies that they have enjoyed throughout their lives. We will support every resident to try new things and we love learning from our residents every day.

My name is Kim and I am proud to run the kitchen team here at Woodside House.


I am responsible for providing a top class dining experience and ensuring that the menus reflect the high standards that every resident should enjoy. I am constantly speaking with residents to find out what foods they prefer, the way they like things presented and how I can make every meal a great experience.


Working with the care staff to ensure each resident's unique dietary requirements are met, is just one of the ways that my kitchen team support the health and well-being of our residents. I spend time with each new resident to ensure that my team and I are aware of their preferences and favourites when they first move in to Woodside.

Hi, my name is Scott and I am responsible for ensuring that every aspect of Health and Safety has been observed.

Alice started working in Woodside House when she left school in 2008. She has carried out a number of roles over the years including kitchen assistant, housekeeping, laundry and since 2023 our Administration Assistant. Alice doesn’t feel that any other job could compare as Woodside is like home. She loves being the first face everyone sees when they arrive and loves welcoming everyone to the home that she is very proud to show off.
