Our dear mum was so content here for the past 8 months, we found her a home full of love.
It was very emotionally difficult to place trust in her care by others to start with but mum showed such contentment it was like a big hug for all of us, she smiled at everyone! She could bring them laughter with her remarks & despair with her falls but they allowed her to keep her spirit of adventure & fun!
Dementia is a cruel disease that can crush everyone, this home gives freedom with safety & joy with fun and made Mum's end of life a happy one & the family at peace.

Thank you so much to everyone of the staff, you all play such an amazing role in this wonderful family home

My experience of Sunrise Nursing Home was outstanding.
The care they gave my Mum was brilliant.
They showed her kindness, compassion, dignity and treated her like she was family.
All the staff were incredible and took such good care of my Mum.
I don't reside in Felixstowe, and they couldn't have been more helpful. Nothing was ever too much, and they always contacted me when they needed to and were very transparent.
I am so grateful to every single member of staff. When Mum got poorly, they not only looked after Mum, but they also looked after me.
They supported all of the family and I am so grateful it was Mums final resting place.
She was happy and very well looked after.

Thank you all so much.

My sister spent the last nine months of her life in the above care home. She enjoyed every moment she spent there they treated her like family and myself when I visited. The staff go way beyond to ensure the people are comfortable the food is good as any restaurant I have ever eaten in. All I can say is a massive thank you to all the staff for making my sister so happy loved and cared for.

We were offered Sunrise Nursing Home after my mother was unable to stay in her bungalow.
Kay the manager, invited me to have a look around and we had the choice of two rooms that were available, we decided on the larger one of the two as we needed to accommodate mums mobility needs.

When I moved mum in, I asked about pictures and decorating, Kay said that this was your mum's home now and that I could do what was needed to make it homely for her. So I provided the wallpaper, curtains and shelves and they were put up on my behalf. If I did have any queries, I would raise them with Kay and she would have it resolved straight away. The carers, nurses, activity coordinators and the handyman were all very caring and approachable, and within a week mum had settled in and was enjoying playing bingo, therapy dog visits and exercise classes. Mum enjoyed the food offered and they were able to accommodate her purée needs. I would highly recommend Sunrise Nursing Home.

Following a brief hospital stay our dad moved to Sunrise Nursing Home for end of life care. During his brief stay. The manager was approachable and very supportive. All the staff were friendly, kind and very respectful towards dad, and to all family members who spent many hours there. Thank you to all, and for helping us through a very upsetting and difficult time.

My Mother moved to Sunrise from a less than adequate care home in Ipswich. Before the move we were invited as a family to visit the premises, to look around and ask any questions we wanted.
The decision was made to move Mum there and from that day she became a member of the Sunrise family.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and Management and we came to look on them as trusted friends rather than staff.
Mum soon made friends and it was a pleasure to visit and find her happily chatting to friends she had made since moving in.
There were obviously times when Mum wasn't feeling at her best and would take to her room. During these times she was afforded as much privacy as was possible within the confines of what was required to ensure her care and treatment.

I never regret the decision to move her there and our family are still close to the Staff even after Mums death In June of this year. I can't recommend Sunrise highly enough.

Currently, my mother is in respite at this home.
The staff are friendly and caring and she reports the food is really good.
But the state of her room is terrible just before her arrival we were told it was a store room.
There's stuff in the corridor outside it. She doesn't have her own bathroom and the bathroom she can use has spare equipment in it and wheelchairs wedged in either side of the toilet.
She does have a sink in a cupboard in her room but cannot use it as there is a leak and has towels under it to soak up the leak.
She has no bedside lamp even though it's been requested several times.
She has blankets but no quilt even though this has been requested.

And her dressing gown was hooked up from a cupboard handle high up making it difficult and unsafe for her to retrieve. When this was pointed out we were told well if she had a fall trying to get it they would know as have sensors in the floor to alert them to fall. Unbelievable.

We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the facility during this one-week respite. We aim to provide high-quality care in a family-like environment. We have also undertaken a multiyear facility improvement plan which has improved the decor of the rooms and the communal area...

My dad had been a resident of this care home since 2019. It has been a brilliant care home with friendly staff and manager. She always went out of her way to help us with Dad. My mum had been in Sunrise nursing home for the last 8 years. She had to leave her home as she had to have her right leg amputated and couldn’t return home. She was welcomed in by the original staff and said she felt comfortable in the room she was in. The room proved not big enough and straight away she was given a larger room which she stayed in for her remaining years. Since the new owners and the appointed new manager have taken over I cannot fault the home at all. Any problems Mum had were dealt with straight away and we the family were informed. The staff were always friendly and made you feel welcome. Mum passed away on the 19th of April 2024 and the staff were brilliant right till she passed away.

Mum-in-law has been a resident here for over 8 years (until her recent passing) Sunrise has a lovely homely feel and the staff are always happy, friendly and very caring. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her and it has always felt reassuring that she was very well looked after. We as a family were always warmly greeted and made to feel very welcome. The owners and management are super. Always available to discuss anything. The food and meals are very good. Overall a lovely nursing home that I would highly recommend.

When a good friend became unable to care for himself in his home, he was moved from pillar to post, until Sunrise Nursing Home gave him the new home that he needed. Whenever I visited, including garden visits during Covid when possible, I was made most welcome. The staff were, at all times, kind and respectful towards my friend, and I always felt that he was in just the right place. A big thank you to everyone for giving my friend the dignity that he deserved.

My mum has been in Sunrise for 2.5 years and we could not wish for her to be anywhere else.
The care my mum receives is excellent and even when times have been tough they have reassured us, with their normal smile and positivity, that everything will be fine.
Mum unfortunately has dementia and doesn't remember exactly where she is, but feels she's in a hotel, which speaks for itself as to how comfortable she feels.

The manager and her team are all superb and I thank each and every one of them for the way they look after Mum.

I cannot thank the staff of Sunrise enough for the care they gave to my mum. She was only there a short time before her passing (she was very ill), but the staff made her feel very welcome and part of the “family”. The level of care is amazing and the staff are always happy and friendly, no matter the hour of day or night. My love and thanks go out to you all. Thank you.

My brother who is 71 years old Downes Syndrome with dementia was first at Sunrise for I week of respite care after COVID lockdowns. Sunrise had totally given him a new lease on life and he wanted to go back, fortunately, the manager gave him the first bed available and he is so happy there. The quality of care is second to none, daily activities, always clean-shaven, dressed and interacting with residents and staff. He is made to feel so loved in the true family-friendly environment which is extended to visitors and relatives. No appointments needed to visit, no great turnover in staff and regular relative meetings with staff and director to exchange experience and future plans (which is very unusual in my nursing home experiences) truly the signs of happy residents, staff, good management and happy relatives. My family are so grateful for the care given to my brother who is not the easiest person to communicate with as he has little speech and mobility. Thank you Sunrise.

Mum arrived at Sunrise in a very poor state from another care home and I honesty feel that if it was not for the caring staff and management, Mum would not be with us today. She arrived with deep bed sores and very frail. I can't thank them enough for giving us this extra quality time with Mum, they always make you welcome every time the family visit.

The moment we first visited Sunrise we knew it was the right place for Mum. The staff are warm and friendly and the care and understanding they show mum is outstanding. We class the staff as part of our family. We love to visit and our grandchildren are welcomed and love to say hello to the other residents. I would recommend Sunrise with no reservations at all.

The staff here are amazing they go above and beyond to care for their patients. It is homely. You are made so welcome when you visit. The food is very good. They also have mid-morning and afternoon snacks. Mum loved it here and when she became very ill the staff were very good and we knew she was being well looked after. The town centre is so close if we need anything. I would definitely recommend this home.
