My mother had to move into North Court 18 months ago due to her husband becoming unwell, so initially for respite care. Unfortunately my stepfather never really recovered, and despite spending 3 months in North Court with my mother he passed away. My mother had no option to stay at North Court and there
lies my admiration for staff at North Court. My Mother has been involved in making choices, developing routines and lifestyle, making friends and accepting her life with utmost respect, time and effort from staff. Thank you. She is now happy.

Our darling mother went into North Court Bury St Eds on the 19th January after being in the hospital for nearly 5 weeks. She had a fall and fractured her hip on 18th December. She was in the home for 3 weeks, but sadly she died on 9th February.
The staff at the nursing home were just brilliant. They
were so caring and loving towards mum. She was so happy there!! She had a lovely sunny bright room.
Not only were the staff lovely to mum, they were there for my brother, me and the rest of my family, always asking if we wanted drinks and hugs when we were upset and letting us come and go, to suit the family needs.
As a family, we can't thank and praise North Court Bury St Edmunds enough.

Very welcoming, staff introduced themselves and then went to collect my mother. She arrived in the cafe, happy, well dressed and comfortable in her surroundings. The cafe was clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc. including cakes and cookies baked and decorated for 'children in need'.
The doors were security driven, so I felt no qualms about my mother's safety.

My husband is in care the staff are wonderful to residents and family. The care you cannot fault. There is nothing the staff would not do.
Residents are treated with care and respect, staff never raise their voices to the residents, and nothing is too much trouble.
Help is always on hand to residents,
or family and would recommend this home to anyone.

My husband has Alzheimer's Disease and is in an advanced state. From what I see when I visit he is treated with patience and gentleness. He is always calm, relaxed and at peace. If he were not I would have had to question the care he is given but he is obviously is an excellent relationship with those
who care for him. There is a good atmosphere in the home- a good staff who work well together. I am always treated with great kindness by everyone and they all know my first name, even the odd job man! My husband is always clean and fresh. As he is largely bedridden, great care is taken to avoid bed sores. This care home is, in my opinion, an excellent place in which we can all be confident that those we love are in good hands.

My nan lived at North Court for almost three years. In that time we always found the staff to be incredibly kind and supportive to my nan but also to family members. Although my nan was in lots of pain and was coming to the end of her life she made lots of friends amongst the staff there and even described
North Court like a hotel. All the staff from the manager, events coordinator, care staff, cleaners and laundry people took wonderful care of my nan.

My Grandmother, was a resident of north court for almost three years. The entire time she was there she was loved and cared for by all the staff. They tirelessly went out of their way to ensure her comfort and wellbeing, and most importantly to provide her with much needed companionship. When we weren't
with her we were rest assured she was being treated with dignity, sympathy and respect. My grand mother was always well presented and well fed. Towards the end of her time she became very anxious and developed old tendencies, the staff handled this with patience and understanding which is very much appreciated by they family.

My mother was in North Court for over three years before her death. Throughout that time she received excellent care and I also gained much support from the staff which was greatly appreciated. The staff are friendly and welcoming and show great care and compassion for both residents and their relatives
making them feel like an extended family.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.096)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.096) out of 10 for North Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.211 for North Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.211
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.885 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for North Court Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.385
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
