Reviews

9.4 Beaufort Hall Nursing and Residential Home has a Review Score of 9.4 (9.378)

The Review Score of 9.4 (maximum of 10) for Beaufort Hall Nursing and Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Beaufort Hall Nursing and Residential Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.469 for Beaufort Hall Nursing and Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (48 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 4.469

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.909 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beaufort Hall Nursing and Residential Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 6.6 positive Reviews (33 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 6.6 Target = 0.909

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My mother has been in the home for 18 months now, after viewing six homes in Clevedon and some in Weston-Super-Mare, I decided that Beaufort Hall was by far the best.

She was very ill when she was admitted, after a spell in hospital through a fall, but she has come on leaps and bounds. She has put on weight and walks on a frame, and at the age of 103 years old, I think she has done very well.

The care she has received in Beaufort Hall is second to none. She has a nice room, the management and staff are excellent. My mother is very happy, loves the food, has a hairdresser, chiropodist and doctor visits.

Thanks for this feedback. We are delighted with how your mum's health has improved since she joined us and how well she has settled in. Your mum has a wicked sense of humour which we all enjoy and she makes a full contribution at residents and relatives meetings which the staff appreciate.

The home gives extremely good care to my father, and we could not ask for a better place for him to be.
When we are not there, you know they look after him like family.

Thanks for this positive feedback.

My mother is 99 years old, very deaf and very set in her ways. She has been cared for very well by all the staff and management. She can be very difficult at times but that is probably due to her age. I couldn't care for her as well as the staff do and for that, I am eternally grateful.

Lizzie Toms, Director at Beaufort Hall Nursing and Residential Home responded to this review on 25 Sep 2017:

Thank you for your feedback and your positive comments about the care provided by our wonderful staff.

After a 2-month stay in hospital being treated for an infection last year my father was no longer able to walk, therefore his needs had changed dramatically (he was diagnosed with vascular dementia 8 years ago and had been in a 'supposedly' specialist dementia setting for 2 years prior to his hospital admission).
While initially in the hospital it had been inferred to me that my father may not recover.
Twelve months later my father has gone from strength to strength thanks to Beaufort Hall and the care he has received there since November 2016.
What a difference, as although he has not regained his mobility he is very happy (and although Beaufort Hall is not a specialist dementia setting the support my father receives is far superior, proactive and effective than in his previous setting).
He is integrated fully with the other residents, is provided regularly with both occupational and creative activities and most importantly staff who genuinely care about him. Thank you so much.

Many thanks for this feedback. It is great to know how much your father has improved and how well he has settled in with the other residents and our activities programme.

I haven't visited my uncle very often but the care home workers seem conscientious, honest and caring.

Thanks so much for your review Nick.
We always have such a laugh with your uncle - he sang along into a microphone alongside a singer which came into our home this week, organised by our events coordinator and is also taken out regularly when he wants.
Really hope to see you soon.
Take care

My brother has been at the home since May 2017 and has settled well and is very happy. The staff relate well to him and their care for him is very evident. They are always welcoming when I visit.

Thank you very much for your review. We welcome back any feedback and we are glad that your brother is very happy here. He filled the room with joy the other day with his infectious laugh! Take care and feel free to e-mail me whenever you like.

The staff at Beaufort Hall are caring, friendly and very professional.
I live overseas and rely on them to care for my mother and to keep in touch with me regarding her welfare.
I am completely confident that she is getting the best possible care.
