I cannot honestly write a review without mentioning the care manager. She was the only senior person I ever met or spoke with, despite visiting at least three times a week for a year.
In her care, she and her team of very caring, willing and above all else, very well managed team provided outstanding care to my father right up until his very peaceful death, in his 'home', with those who felt like an extension to our family.
Dad was a very positive and appreciative person, who gave as much as he received at Silver Trees, right up until his final week there.

The standard of care and support that he received was excellent. We know that the care team - under the excellent support and management of the care manager provided us with an excellent experience. Shame about our final management letter! Dreadful!

My father was only in the home for a few days before he died. However, we found the staff to be caring and compassionate, especially the nurse and carer assigned to him.

My mother has been a resident at Silver Trees for some years. Both my brother and I feel that she has been very well looked after and we have no complaints at all.

She has never been an easy person to deal with very strong willed and determined but the staff are to be praised for the way they have coped with her varied mood swings, that said we are grateful for the dedication of the staff all of them.

Extremely attentive to rapidly changing needs of my father who required a great deal of RGN Nursing care during the final weeks of his life. Having received a terminal cancer diagnosis as a fit 76 year old his mental and psychological management were equally well supported. He died in comfort knowing that all his needs were being taken care off and felt loved and respected.

Overall Experience

My mother lived in the care home for nearly five years. Her room was of a good quality and was kept clean and generally tidy over the last few months the care home seems to have had a more settled staff who seem genuinely friendly and caring and did their best to keep my mother happy and comfortable. The quality of nursing care was also excellent. Out main issues were minor: TV being left on but facing away, TV tuned to pop music, newspaper left out of sight/reach. This may possibly be due to temporary/weekend staff rather than the regular carers? The general administration seems poor: the office is frequently unmanned and telephones unanswered. I am also concerned at the number of people who know the door entry code. (myself included). Practically this is useful but a security concern.

My 95-year-old mother went into Silver Trees for the first time in April 2016 for a week's respite care to give us an opportunity to take a short holiday. She was apprehensive. I found the staff, without exception, to be friendly, caring, helpful and flexible. My mother was reassured and well looked after, despite not being an easy patient. We would be happy to repeat the experience.
