Silver Trees is a luxury 62-bed home set in the sweeping landscape of Somerset. Featuring two dining rooms and four lounges, the home offers a tranquil setting for residents in receipt of residential, nursing and respite care. There are 75 staff members, including a dedicated activities coordinator.

The countryside home boasts a secure garden where residents can enjoy the peaceful countryside in a safe environment. The home sits adjacent to an array of shops and has excellent transport links nearby.

As well as providing high-quality, person-centred care, Silver Trees also places high value on residents’ wellbeing, offering an in-house salon for them to relax and be pampered. There’s also free Wi-Fi access for all.

Residents can also take part in the excellent activities on offer, and there are plenty of opportunities for exciting excursions and trips.

Silver Trees offers outstanding care for its residents. As well as the staff undertaking industry-leading training to help them deliver the very best care, the home also offers virtual dementia training for friends, family and stakeholders. They can join the staff to gain an understanding of how to care for someone with dementia, ensuring that all care is consistent, accurate and delivered with compassion.

Silver Trees uses person-centred software to create digital, bespoke care plans that can be updated in real-time to ensure accuracy and quality, allowing staff to spend more quality time with the residents. They also use innovative technology to manage medication in partnership with Lloyds pharmacy.

Extremely attentive to rapidly changing needs of my father who required a great deal of RGN Nursing care during the final weeks of his life. Having received a terminal cancer diagnosis as a fit 76 year old his mental and psychological management were equally well supported. He died in comfort knowing
that all his needs were being taken care off and felt loved and respected.

My mother lived in the care home for nearly five years. Her room was of a good quality and was kept clean and generally tidy over the last few months the care home seems to have had a more settled staff who seem genuinely friendly and caring and did their best to keep my mother happy and comfortable.
The quality of nursing care was also excellent. Out main issues were minor: TV being left on but facing away, TV tuned to pop music, newspaper left out of sight/reach. This may possibly be due to temporary/weekend staff rather than the regular carers? The general administration seems poor: the office is frequently unmanned and telephones unanswered. I am also concerned at the number of people who know the door entry code. (myself included). Practically this is useful but a security concern.

My 95-year-old mother went into Silver Trees for the first time in April 2016 for a week's respite care to give us an opportunity to take a short holiday. She was apprehensive. I found the staff, without exception, to be friendly, caring, helpful and flexible. My mother was reassured and well looked
after, despite not being an easy patient. We would be happy to repeat the experience.

Mother has been a resident at Silver Trees for the last three years after breaking both hips and becoming immobile. Staff extremely accommodating and always obliging. Home exceptionally well kept, clean and fresh. Visitors welcome at all times! Home well designed with multiple lounges and open areas.

From 1st October 2025 we open the doors to our new Day Service (Activities & Wellbeing Hub) here at Silver Trees Care Home. Monday to Friday - 10am-2pm. If you are interested or know someone that would benefit from our service please contact us. It costs £52.50 per day, inclusive of refreshments and a 2 course cooked meal from our menu.

Alina Tarba

Job Title: Registered home manager

Alina has an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care, and qualified as an RGN in 2015. She started in a junior nurse role, before becoming lead nurse, deputy manager and now home manager. Prior to this, Alina also worked as a care assistant and senior care assistant, gaining essential skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of the home.


Alina adopts a safe and dignified approach to her delivery of care, ensuring the health, happiness and wellbeing of each resident. She leads by example, developing effective teams and a positive working environment, which is essential for both the team and the clients.


She finds Handsale an extremely supportive and rewarding company to work for, who put the safety of both the residents and staff above all else.
