Silver Trees is a luxury 62-bed home set in the sweeping landscape of Somerset. Featuring two dining rooms and four lounges, the home offers a tranquil setting for residents in receipt of residential, nursing and respite care. There are 75 staff members, including a dedicated activities coordinator.

The countryside home boasts a secure garden where residents can enjoy the peaceful countryside in a safe environment. The home sits adjacent to an array of shops and has excellent transport links nearby.

As well as providing high-quality, person-centred care, Silver Trees also places high value on residents’ wellbeing, offering an in-house salon for them to relax and be pampered. There’s also free Wi-Fi access for all.

Residents can also take part in the excellent activities on offer, and there are plenty of opportunities for exciting excursions and trips.

Silver Trees offers outstanding care for its residents. As well as the staff undertaking industry-leading training to help them deliver the very best care, the home also offers virtual dementia training for friends, family and stakeholders. They can join the staff to gain an understanding of how to care for someone with dementia, ensuring that all care is consistent, accurate and delivered with compassion.

Silver Trees uses person-centred software to create digital, bespoke care plans that can be updated in real-time to ensure accuracy and quality, allowing staff to spend more quality time with the residents. They also use innovative technology to manage medication in partnership with Lloyds pharmacy.

My 97-year-old mother was a resident of Silver Trees for nearly two years until she passed away in October 2021. During that time, we found the staff caring and considerate. Silver Trees is a very pleasant care home.

My mother passed away unexpectedly but my comfort comes in knowing that her last 4 years (spent at Silver Trees) were some of her best. She was freed of struggles and strain - replaced by being provided for, looked after and, most importantly cared for - genuinely cared for. No longer isolated in her
own home, she became social, enjoyed joining in activities and fully appreciated all that was done and provided for her.

Mum was a resident in Silver Tress for over 3-years, sadly she passed away in October 2020. As a family, we can only say how well Mum was cared for at Silver Tress; we can't speak highly enough of the residential floor staff and leadership. We felt they all had Mum's best interests ay the centre of
what they do. We visited daily, never having a reason to question the level of care.

Over a trying time the staff, though over the telephone, were so nice and sympathetic. It made me feel as though they were with me.

My mother was admitted in a very poor state and was expected to die imminently. The care she received in the home was exemplary, and she lived for 3-months. Although at times she was in severe pain and confused, the staff - except when other demands precluded it - were attentive, caring and did everything
they could to help her.
I always felt welcome and included in her care, and frankly enjoyed my visits. All the staff were very respectful but friendly and seemed to enjoy their work.

My dad has been in Silver Trees for 1 year and although he says it's not like being in his own home, he is happy and cared for very well. They try their best to make it as homely as possible. He enjoys the food and staff are very friendly. On his birthday, they provided us with a lounge room for family
to visit him, which was brilliant. They also arrange trips out where we can meet them at a location and push him around in a wheelchair, which he really enjoys. He struggles to get into a car so this makes it very easy.

My father-in-law appears to be very content with the care he is receiving. He prefers to spend most of the time in his room although the staff do encourage him without success to join in the various activities that are arranged.
At least he does mix with the other residents at mealtimes. The staff
are very supportive.

My husband seems very happy at Silver Trees, he has vascular dementia. He always looks clean, enjoys the food which is very good and has even put on some weight. The staff are wonderful to him and me. This has been a good move and I wish we had done it sooner.

Silver Trees has been a friendly, caring environment for our mum. The staff on the Residential floor are lovely, particularly one lady who cannot do enough to ensure mum was looked after and also supporting the family.
Communication between her and doctors treating mum was good and we would certainly
recommend Silver Trees.

Our mother had been at Silver Trees for almost a year when she passed away recently. Knowing that mum was being well cared for made a huge difference to our lives. There were highs and lows in terms of her failing health, but the team made the lows a lot brighter than they could have been. They were
unfailingly kind and supportive and dealt with mum with genuine affection, making it as much a place of safety and care for us, as well as for mum. They almost felt like family.

If you are interested or know someone that would benefit from our service please contact us. It costs £52.50 per day, inclusive of refreshments and a 2 course cooked meal from our menu.

Alina Tarba

Job Title: Registered home manager

Alina has an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care, and qualified as an RGN in 2015. She started in a junior nurse role, before becoming lead nurse, deputy manager and now home manager. Prior to this, Alina also worked as a care assistant and senior care assistant, gaining essential skills, knowledge and experience in all aspects of the home.


Alina adopts a safe and dignified approach to her delivery of care, ensuring the health, happiness and wellbeing of each resident. She leads by example, developing effective teams and a positive working environment, which is essential for both the team and the clients.


She finds Handsale an extremely supportive and rewarding company to work for, who put the safety of both the residents and staff above all else.
