My mother has dementia and has been a resident at Silver Trees for over two years.
The carers are kind and attentive and are always welcoming to me when I visit.
Most days the activities team organise a good mix of creative activities, exercise, games, quizzes and live music to enrich the residents' days.
The care home is clean and welcoming but a little tired.
It feels homely.

The management are approachable and are quick to try to rectify any issues.

My Father was resident at Silvertrees for just under two years, during which time the staff that looked after him were fantastic. It's all about the staff - and the carers here are superb - I regularly arrived to find carers in chatting to my Dad which made his time here far more pleasant - Its all about the staff!

Reply from Chris Rees, Area Manager at Silver Trees

Thank you for your kind words. We're very proud of our team, and it's wonderful to hear that their time, conversation, and care made such a positive difference to your father's experience

My Mum has been at Silvertrees since April 2023. She speaks highly of Silvertrees and the nursing and care team despite always having said she did not want to be in a residential home. However due to her medical needs this has been necessary and there are so many positives about Silvertrees - the friendly care team, those that make her perfect tea, those who are kind, the laundry girls who went over and above to find her missing top, the girls for always helping with bits and pieces, the nurses for ongoing diligence, the wonderful varied activity programme, the welcome and hospitality for visitors , the speedy response to queries from the management team, the striving to improve, the seasonal events such as the summer garden party and Christmas meal for residents and families to share together. I could go on. It's not easy having to negotiate the care system but we appreciate everything that Silvertrees is doing. Thankyou.

My Mum was a resident from December 2022 until August 2023. My Dad is currently a resident (since November 2023), so I have been a regular visitor to the home (nursing care floor) for two and a half years.

I have nothing but praise for the Home. There has never been an issue that hasn't been immediately addressed, such as Mum losing her false teeth and Dad losing his hearing aids!

The care staff are absolutely brilliant - nothing is too much trouble. They constantly engage with Dad, who has Alzheimer's and the personal care that he receives is excellent.

The managers are really helpful do an excellent job. They have been pushing through changes and improvements which are appreciated by residents and visitors alike.

Dad loves the food! He tells me that he is very happy to live at Silver Trees and that he feels well cared for and safe. I used to look after him at home and the fact that he now feels like that gives me huge reassurance.

I want to thank the staff for their efforts.

The care for my mother at Silvertrees has been very good. She has been there since November 2023, and throughout her stay I have always felt assured that her needs, physical, mental and social, are being met.
The staff are friendly, kind and considerate. It's always a pleasure to see them.

For special occasions, the staff have always gone out of their way to accommodate and enhance the occasion. I am very grateful for this.

I have been in this care home permanently for around 16 months and my observations are that overall I am quite happy with my care here.

The staff are helpful and friendly and I have a good relationship with the deputy manager, who is a friend to me, whom I can talk to about any problems that I may have. I believe that this care home has a good positive attitude and feeling from everyone concerned, the management and staff.

My mum had 2 stays in SilverTrees, firstly in December as a resident on the general care floor and secondly in January 25 for palliative/end of life care.
At all times, the standard of care Mum received was outstanding. The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to help Mum. The deputy manager was absolutely exceptional and is a credit to her profession. Mum loved being there throughout her brief stay. She loved her room, the food and she really enjoyed the activities.

Mum's end-of-life care was first class. She was well cared for, kept warm and comfortable. We were treated with dignity and kindness at all times.

My Mum has been in this home for 2 years and has been on the nursing floor for 20 months. The care she has received has been wonderful, they show her the upmost respect and respect her dignity. She is bed bound and cannot do anything for herself but is very happy here and knows she is in the best place, she smiles everyday which means so much to us, we visit her a lot, the staff are always so helpful and kind to us too.
The staff are very understanding of her needs both from the nursing staff and management. If we have any problems, which are very few they are sorted very quickly.
Her washing is always done very quickly to a good standard and her room is kept clean.

We are glad she's in this home.

My husband has been in Silver Trees 3 months. He is bed ridden and needs 24 hours care. I've visited everyday and love the way all the staff treat my husband. All of the staff from bottom to top are so caring, friendly and cheerful. This makes such a difference when a person is in bed 24/7. They all make him smile so I know he is well looked after. I would like to thank all the staff and management for making a difficult time a little easier.

My mother has been in Silver Trees since September 2022. During this time she has had some episodes where she has needed medical treatment. Everything was managed as expected.
Normal day to day care has been excellent and mum has been looked after very well in her time there.
Mum does not need for anything and is very comfortable there.
The staff have been very good and the Deputy Manager has been excellent in ensuring mum has been looked after so well. Mum gets on well with her.
We have been very pleased with the care given to my mum that we have just moved my mother in law into the same care home and once again the Deputy Manager made the transfer from the hospital seamless. What a relief.

It is difficult to comment on value for money as private care is very expensive.

My Father has been resident at Silver Trees since April 2024 following a period in hospital. The management and staff have been fantastic all the way through Dad's assessment period and then whilst he got used to his new environment.
The staff continue to look after and care for dad really well. He seems very settled and is in so much better physical health than when he first arrived.
Management are very efficient in keeping me and the family updated with any news or any changes and are extremely approachable. We always receive prompt replies to any enquiries or assistance we need.
The management and staff hosted a residents and family Christmas meal at the care home which was a great few hours. Since dad has been resident there have also been a number of family meetings/updates too.

Very happy with all aspects at Silver Trees.

Our dad was a resident for 4 months. The home went above and beyond supporting us to get Dad out of hospital. We had some issues settling in to begin with as Dad moved in on a bank holiday weekend and it took a few days to get the right equipment set up. However, the carers worked really hard to get to know Dad. Dad struggled with his communication and mobility but the carers were always patient and quick to respond when he needed them. We are very fortunate to live close by so we were able to visit regularly and if Dad ever had any issues we took this to management and these were dealt with. After about 3 months we had to move Dad to the nursing floor. This concerned us but again after the first few tricky days, they got to know him and his needs. We were pleased with the support we received as a family and especially in his final few days we couldn't have asked for more. Overall we had a very positive experience and silver trees made a very difficult time more manageable.

The manager and her team have been incredibly kind and patient with my mother who hasn't been the easiest resident! She wanted to come home after a week but whenever I visit her she has nothing but praise for all of the staff. The management have been wonderful and has always been available to give me advice and to let me know how Mum is doing. My sister looked at 8 care homes before choosing Silver Trees. It was definitely the right choice.
