I am extremely happy with the care my mother is receiving. There are always lots of staff around and always ready to help. Her room is beautiful looking out over a garden area and is always spotless. I live some distance away so it is lovely to know she is safe and being cared for. I consider myself
lucky to have got my mum a place here.

My mum was referred to Albert House from A&E after experiencing a fall at home. The nursing care and attention has been superb. My mum is looking, speaking, joking like she used to. Having TLC and attention to ensure medication, food, fluids etc are taken has meant a remarkable recovery has taken place.
Thank you, Albert house.

My aunt reached her 100th birthday in March and I felt she now needed 24/7 care. I knew from previous experience that Albert House would tick all the boxes I was looking for. She has been in care now for 6 months and I have no worries. Management and staff are friendly and caring.

This nursing home is as good as a 5-star hotel. The staff are friendly with a smile and enjoy a joke with you. Food is excellent, always with a choice. Rooms are large with an ensuite, your dignity and safety is at the top of the list.

Mum says she is very happy at Albert House. She enjoys the food, dad is allowed to have meals with her, which he loves and is nice for them both. The staff are so very friendly and kind. There are always staff around, who are all pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Management are
always available to speak to.
Overall, Albert House has not only helped mum but all the family as we don't have to worry about her as we know mum is being cared for and is happy. Thank you.

Mum came to this nursing home originally for respite. It became obvious very quickly that she required permanent care. A place was avaliable at Albert House and mum became a resident. Mum was very happy with the home and staff which made the decision much easier. The staff are extremely caring, helpful
and professional with the residents, and also extend this to relatives to attempt to ease concerns. Excellent caring and nursing facility.

At the moment my family and I are extremely pleased with all aspects of care provided for my father. It is the best my dad has been for a long time. I feel that he is treated with dignity and he seems very settled. The ethos is very calm and all staff are very pleasant.

My parents have been looked after in the last year of their lives by the lovely managers and staff at Albert House. I can recommend their service unreservedly. Friendly, sensitive, professional and proactive.

The private and public rooms are spotless, have a nice atmosphere and feel like a home rather

than an institution.

We had to find a nursing home for my brother-in-law, which could give palliative care. We were very pleased with the care he was given, the staff where all very kind, caring. Treated with respect. Not only to my brother-in-law, but to us as well. If we asked questions, they were answered, his care was
explained with time and care. So that we know what was happening.

My sister-in-law spent the last two years of her life in Albert House. During that time she was unable to walk but the home hoist her into a chair daily, and into the lounge. She was made comfortable and at all times had plenty of attention. The staff were all kind and considerate.

My mother received excellent care for the last six months of her life suffering from Parkinson's. She had been in two previous homes with awful stories to tell, moving her to Albert House and their professional care was a huge relief if only we had moved her sooner. Patients need staff to have patience,
smiles and interaction when changing or feeding, again absent at previous homes. She received this basic need at Albert House immediately which was so important to me. I would have no hesitance in recommending Albert House, they are constantly improving and training is very important to them.

As the person responsible for my elderly friend, I am pleased to say that the care given by the whole team was exceptional. The room and facilities were first class and kept in spotless condition. Being an End of Life resident the care, compassion and medical care could not be faulted and my friend
passed in comfort, painlessly and peacefully. All the staff were very attentive to the residents and visitors and I can not recommend Albert House Nursing Home highly enough.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.070)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.070) out of 10 for Albert House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.682 for Albert House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (15 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.682
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.388 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Albert House Nursing Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.6 = 0.263
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
