Everyone is always helpful and friendly. My husband is very happy with you and has been since he arrived three years ago.
He hasn't been well lately and they looked after him with care, he is now much better.

My aunt was very poorly when she went to live at Albert House in January 2023 following a spell in hospital. She took a long time to settle in, didn't always want to cooperate and was in a lot of pain. Between them, the care staff and the medical staff, with the help of the local hospice, managed to
get her pain under control. And thanks to the kind, patient and encouraging staff, she began to get out of bed more and sometimes spend time in the lounge and dining room. She built relationships with her carers, especially her key workers. Rather than getting more ill, she stabilised and I credit Albert House with supplying her with good nutritional food and fluids.
My aunt had a dream though, an ambition to move across the country to be nearer to her equally sick brother. By a miracle, this has now happened and she has moved to another nursing home. Without the Albert House staff getting her fit enough and enabling this move it would never have happened. We are both very grateful.

My father moved into Albert House Nursing Home in November 2021 and was there until he sadly passed away in January 2023. Every member of staff, clinical and non-clinical, gave him amazing care that we thought was second to none. We cannot find any fault but only admiration, especially through the trials
of Covid.
We chose Albert House due to its reviews and CQC rating, along with local recommendations and the shared communication through the app. We could not have chosen better. The staff worked closely with the family to ensure he had the very best care throughout his final months and make sure they and the family could support him throughout.
As a family, we also felt extremely well supported by the whole team, which was always appreciated.
Thank you to everyone at Albert House.

My father-in-law moved into Albert House Nursing Home in Sept 2022, his needs had increased so needed to move from the care home he was in. We all live abroad so it was an incredibly stressful time for us trying to find the perfect place. We had daily Facetime calls which the staff were happy to set
up, nothing was too much trouble. We came back for a visit and could not have been more impressed, the facilities and staff are great, we were extremely impressed with the app, which details all the daily activities, such as what the resident has eaten, done or nurse or doctor visits, this was invaluable to us. Nov, we had a call to say he had declined, we booked flights, got back at 2 am, we went straight to Albert House from the airport, we were with him the whole 5 days until he sadly passed, the care shown to him and us will never be forgotten, they could not do enough for us, the care shown to my father-in-law was just faultless. Amazing place.

Albert House Nursing Home has been very good with their care and support for our two friends who are with them, one of them has now passed away at the end of this month. The staff have made his last days as comfortable as possible, and also have kept us well informed about his condition. They are friendly,
approachable, respectful and caring. The home is clean and tidy always. Residents are well looked after. We have been very pleased with the service they provide.

Dad was at Albert House for the last 4 weeks of his life. He loved it! The care and support was totally person-centred with kindness, humour, and dignity. Everything was top class and Dad felt welcomed and wanted. The owner/manager was so approachable and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.
Dad was always clean and presentable, given a daily shave and his favourite after-shave applied. Huge thanks.

Mum joined Albert House in January 2021 due to declining health and mobility issues. The staff and management welcomed and managed Mum's arrival at very short notice, in the middle of lockdown from hospital. There has been excellent communication throughout the year and they have always been proactive
in their response to the changing levels of Covid. We have been able to visit when safe and are assured by the level of safeguards in place to protect all residents. Mum often comments that she is in the best place and enjoys her room and interaction with the staff. We appreciate all that the staff do for Mum and take comfort in the fact that she is safe and well looked after.

Dad was at Albert House for 4 months. We found the staff to be friendly, professional, and extremely caring. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Visits or phone calls to Dad were welcomed. The phone was always answered. An app was available which enabled us to see exactly what care was being provided
to Dad 24 hours a day. Such transparency was extremely reassuring. Dad’s room was decorated to a high standard and felt homely from the start. His en-suite was easily accessible and fitted with up-to-date facilities and equipment. The home was kept immaculately clean and always smelt fresh. All communal areas were just as homely and there was a pretty, well-maintained courtyard with seating.
Meals were of a high standard and every consideration was given to accommodate Dad’s needs as eating became more difficult for him. End-of-life care was managed with compassion, dignity, and respect. We were able to be with Dad throughout which meant so much. An outstanding care home.

Mum came to Albert House in 2016 and received excellent and compassionate care until her death in August 2021. She loved joining in with the communal activities while she was able. When she was bed-ridden the care team ensured she was engaged in as much activity as possible. She was never alone and
was always looked after perfectly. The family could relax knowing that the staff's kindness and care were making Mum's last months as comfortable as possible. It is obvious that the home is run efficiently and with every consideration for the comfort and reassurance of the residents and their family. All the staff are open, friendly and very caring - the nurse let me know that Mum was declining and I was able to be with her as she passed. A big thank you to Albert House staff.

My wife was moved to Albert House from another facility during the Covid Pandemic. The staff and management made the transfer as simple as possible for me. We were given a huge amount of relevant information and from the moment we arrived my wife and I were made extremely welcome. The home was warm
and welcoming and despite not being able to stay I was dressed in PPE and shown where she was going to be staying. I was then given guidance on how during the pandemic I could safely see my wife. Initially, this was done from a window that looked out onto the front garden. I felt confident that she was going to be kept safe. The "Care Control" mobile has given us so much confidence, to be able to see exactly how much she is eating, drinking and how she is feeling throughout the day. It's been so reassuring especially as we cannot freely visit the home at this time. The staff, of which there are plenty, cannot do enough for us and the management and leadership is extremely high.

My father in law has been a resident of Albert House for nearly two years now and my wife and I have always felt that he is in excellent, capable and caring hands. The staff and management team are all very friendly and accomodating. This covid-19 pandemic period has been a trying time for everyone,
but Albert House has managed to cope and meet the challenges head-on. Albert House's reliable and consistent stellar track record of keeping residents well cared for and safe - even in the face of this pandemic - is a glowing testament to the dedication, resilience and competence of their staff and management team. Kudos to you all!

My dad has been staying in Albert House for almost two years. I feel so blessed that we have found the right care home and made the right choice. It was a difficult decision to place my 93 years old dad into a care home and I am so glad that we have found the right one for him. My dad is adapting well,
thanks to all the caring staff and management of Albert House. We appreciate all the care and reassurance provided, especially during the lockdown to keep my dad safe and give us peace of mind during the pandemic.

My dad has resided here since March 2019, I couldn’t be happier at the attention and care he gets. Dad was well cared for while he had shingles on the face last year, the recovery took weeks. We couldn’t have handled it if this happened in our care. The staff are very patient and kind, nothing is too
much trouble. There are 7 of us sisters and brother, I can imagine all the phone calls we made during special occasions and weekly contact. We cannot thank the staff enough for all the care which they have given, particularly during the lockdown period. Overall we know he is safe and well looked after.

Albert House provided a warm welcome to Mum when she could no longer return to residential care from multiple hospital admissions. She was alas never to recover and passed away in early June after 4 months stay. The difficult times were a challenge but the regular reports helped to keep the family informed
as Mum became more frail at 95 years, 6 years after severe strokes. She was able to keep talking and regarded Albert House as her new home.

My father has been a resident at Albert House for nearly four years and has received excellent care throughout his stay. He is unable to care for himself in all aspects and totally relies on the Albert House team who interact with him in a thoroughly professional and dignified manner, no matter the
circumstances. The team carefully monitors his general state of health and engages with health care professionals at appropriate times and notifies our immediate family accordingly.
Communication between the home's staff and our immediate family is very effective and we feel that they are very open and responsive to any points we discuss with them. It must be said that Albert House is a bright and joyous environment that is only possible due to the excellent people who manage the establishment and the care team who look after the residents.
Finally, it is good to see the management team continually investing in the property and residents care equipment. I would thoroughly recommend Albert House to friends and family should they have need for such a service.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.070)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.070) out of 10 for Albert House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.682 for Albert House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (15 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 22 Ratings = 4.682
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.388 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Albert House Nursing Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.6 = 0.263
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
