Over all time Poldhu has 42 reviews.
The staff made me feel welcome, and have continued to do so. Always polite and considerate.
Afternoon, many thanks for your review and I will pass this onto the Team.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Poldhu Care Home to anyone who needs care in a place that feels like home . Everyone has made Mum and myself extremely welcome . She is treated with kindness and respect and staff always find the time to talk and listen to her .
Thank you very much for you review, we will pass this onto the Team.
We were taken to the lounge to chat with him. Lovely environment with lots of seating , very light and airy.
Staff treated both him and us with huge respect. We were impressed with how settled and calm our friend appeared. It was so nice to feel so welcome and it is clear he is happy and settled.
Thank you so much for all you are doing for him
Thank you for your review. We are please to support you and your friend and look forward to welcoming you again soon.
My father-in-law only spent three weeks at Poldhu but was looked after very well. When he passed away, the staff treated him with dignity.
Thank you for your review and kind words, we will ensure that these are passed on to the team at Poldhu.
It's a beautiful home and the staff are very good.
I would highly recommend it here. There are bits and pieces that sometimes need sorting but overall I couldn't speak highly enough.
Thank you for your review and kind words, we will ensure that these are passed on to the team at Poldhu.
When I left the hospital with nowhere to go, Poldhu Care Home took me in and I have been welcomed every day since. There are a lot of people who don't respect we live here because we live in such a beautiful spot. The staff are absolutely wonderful, everyone from the cleaners to management.
Thank you for your review and kind words, we will ensure that these are passed on to the team at Poldhu.
Regarding activities, it would be great if there were more staff available so that residents could be taken out for a small trip, this does happen but very infrequently and I think would make a big difference.
Overall I believe a good home with caring attentive staff.
Thank you for your review and kind words, we will ensure that these are passed on to the team at Poldhu.
The team at Poldhu have taken great care of my mother who's resided at Poldhu for 10 years now. I have every faith in the fact that every single day she is well cared for, with her best interest at heart, without a doubt. We as a family are so grateful for this and can't thank everyone enough. They have been amazing at setting up weekly video chats with my mum for the ones who live further away and therefore aren't able to visit as often as we'd like. That connection is absolutely cherished. The relationships built between the team and my mum plus with us as a family really matter to us - thank you. Would highly recommend.
Thank you for your review and kind words, we will ensure that these are passed on to the team at Poldhu.
As a family, we cannot thank the wonderful nurses, carers and all staff at Poldhu Care Home for the beautiful way they looked after our dad. He was treated with dignity, love care and respect every minute of the last 3 months of his life. They also took wonderful care of us as a family, nothing was too much trouble. All our love and thanks to you all.
Thank you for review and kind words, we will ensure that these are passed on to the team at Poldhu.
Our very close and dear friend went to Poldhu Care Home for terminal care in October 2023. When we visited the staff were all very welcoming and cheerful to us and more to the point, gentle, kind and loving to our friend, always treating her with the respect she deserved. She was kept beautifully clean and comfortable. The staff responded quickly and efficiently when our friend needed help. It would be hard to see how she could have had better care.
Thank you for your review. I am pleased that you were happy with the care provided. I will pass on your comments to the team.
I am very grateful for the care my dad received in the last seven months of his life at Poldhu. They treated him with kindness and respect and were an immense support to the family during the final days of his life.
Thank you for your kind words, your feedback will be passed on to the team at Poldhu.
My grandad was cared for at Poldhu for seven months until he passed away and I cannot thank the team at Poldhu enough for the care, dignity and respect they gave him. We faced many challenges but the team were supportive at every step and always had his best interests at heart. Their end-of-life care could not be faulted which they provided not only to my grandad but to every family member and friend that visited him. The support and care they gave us as a family during his last days will not be forgotten.
Thank you for your review. I will pass on your lovely feedback to the team.
My dad was a resident at Poldhu Care Home for seven months until he passed away. He was cared for with dignity and respect. We faced many challenges but he was always treated with compassion and understanding. The end-of-life care he received could not be faulted and the team not only cared for Dad but for the whole family and friends too. The care given by the whole team will never be forgotten.
Thank you for your kind words. All the best to you and your family.
They are all thoughtful, attentive, respectful and kind and happy to help in whatever role they play.
Our thanks to them all for their care!
Thank you for your kind words, we will ensure that your feedback is shared with the team at Poldhu.
Poldhu Care Home is situated in a beautiful setting on the coast of the Lizard Peninsula. However, their greatest asset is their staff who are genuine, caring and nothing is too much trouble. I am confident that my wife who has M.S is well cared for.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review, please be assured that your positive comments will be shared with the team at Poldhu.
My mother moved into Poldhu Care Home in June 2021. She was finding the change from leaving her own home quite challenging at first. With the help of the amazingly caring staff, she is beginning to feel more at home. She loves her room but needs encouragement to socialise with the other residents. I cannot praise the staff enough. They are all very warm and friendly. The highest praise goes to the activities person, who makes a point of including her in all the activities and getting her to leave her room to meet like-minded residents. She is now settling in well, which gives us peace of mind. The home is beautiful with stunning views!
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. I will ensure your comments are shared with the team at Poldhu, particularly Alex in our Activities Team.
My mother has been in Poldhu Care Home for nearly five years, she is 96 and although her memory is not as good as it was, she has reasonable mobility (now with a walking frame) and most of the time, fairly on the ball mentally. The staff are extremely kind, she is always commenting on how lovely they are to her and very caring. The last year has been difficult for us all, but the staff at Poldhu have handled the whole thing extremely professionally, keeping all infection at bay, and helping keep up the morale of their residents - not an easy thing to do in a pandemic. I know that my mother has suffered emotionally from not having contact with me or her grandchildren, and I think the staff are aware of this and do everything they can to support and help in any way they can. The management at the home are extremely approachable and willing to help in whatever way they can. In fact, the whole of the staff have to be highly commended for their work over the past year.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review, please be assured that your comments will be shared with the team at Poldhu.
The Poldhu Care Home is a wonderful care home. Every single member of staff is friendly, helpful and caring. My mum is doing really well there, seems to be very happy and I can see that she is very well cared for. She has improved significantly over the months that she has been there. I would recommend The Poldhu Care Home to anyone.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review which we will of course ensure is shared with the team at Poldhu.
The staff are always polite and friendly. They make you feel welcome. The home is always clean and tidy and the food is very good. The care that is given is second to none. Such an excellent care home.
Thank you so much for your review and kind words, we will make sure that your feedback is shared with the team at Poldhu.
All my family have been impressed when visiting my mum at her home. The staff have been unfailingly friendly and helpful. Currently, the home seems to have coped wonderfully and remains infection-free.
We had a visit last year at the home from a visitor appointed by the legal guardian, and he commented favourably on the clear lines of responsibility and the welcoming friendly atmosphere. I should also comment on the excellent food and wonderful entertainments we have enjoyed there.
My mother always said she would never go into a home but is now enjoying her fifth year there.
Thank you for such a lovely review; please be assured your comments will be shared with the staff team at Poldhu.

Meet the Team (1)

I have worked in Healthcare for over 17 years having qualified as a Nurse more than 10 years ago. After working in different settings, I came back to the care home setting as it is my passion. Being able to support residents and their loved ones, ensuring that they have the best possible experience in our home and feel a part of our community is extremely rewarding.
I thrive in challenging situations and pride myself on my adaptability. I encourage our team to always look for the positives and what we can learn from every situation. This enables the home to constantly move forward and embrace new challenges, it allows the team to grow and feel pride in their work.
Prior to joining Poldhu I previously held the position of Registered Manager at our sister home in Penzance, Ponsandane.
