I find Trevaylor Manor a clean pleasant and very friendly care home. Staff are always willing to accommodate visitors and I enjoy seeing my mum. I don't agree with the costs and how much you have to sacrifice to maintain your loved one in care.

She has lived at Station Villa since the 1970's. The care home has changed hands, continually improving facilities. The atmosphere in this home is just that - a home. She has had a happy, safe life here, which I hope will long continue. She now has some health issues which the staff handle kindly, sympathetically.
Always addressing problems quickly. We have been very lucky to have her in loving safe hands.

Delighted with the way my brother is treated. He seems happy/contented and is always treated with respect. Visiting only very infrequently due to the distance from our house to the care home. I can't answer all the questions. But what I have seen has been exemplary.

Ponsandane has an excellent atmosphere, a great nursing environment and positive and capable staff. We would highly recommend this to anyone needing nursing care in West Cornwall.

My 102 year old dad was admitted to Ponsandane care home in March 2025 following a short hospital stay after breaking

his hip in a fall. The hospital consultant recommended a nursing home as he decided not to get out of bed and did not want to recover.

First impressions were good, the home well managed and spotlessly clean. The transfer from hospital was seamless and undertaken with professional confidence and kindness.

Dad deteriorated in the first week. Nursing staff ensured that he was examined medically by a GP doctor who determined that end of life, palliative care was needed. All was managed in a sensitive and pragmatic way that enabled him to achieve the good death that he wanted. He was excellently cared for throughout his three week stay.

Thanks to all the staff at Ponsandane.

Breage house is a home from home which is the most important thing when you have decided to let go of your family member to a residential establishment. My sister has been a resident for many years and we feel she is treated with respect, dignity and love in a safe environment. We as a family feel
included, we are able to visit anytime to share my sister's home with her and the residents and always made to feel welcome. Management are in regular communication to keep us informed. The staff are kind, thoughtful and very hard working and most recently they have gone the extra mile to take my sister to met our elderly parents who now can't drive, that means a lot, thank you.

My brother had medical issues that meant frequent hospital stays but the home always send staff to stay with the residents so that they have a familiar face at their bedside, and someone who really knows them to liase with the doctors & nurses. I visited in January and it was great to see the benefit
that this was bringing to my brother.

Our daughter has been a resident at Breage House since the day it opened ,and it's grown from strength to strength as the years have passed by ,she is very happy with her home life ,and her housemates ,as it's home from home , the staff are all very supportive in all her needs. The management are always
up to date in her health care packages, , as prescribed by doctors and consultants, her food prep as for her likes ,her hair cuts and manicures .She is taken out and assisted with her shopping for clothing, and daily necessities ,and also local activities, ,ie, circus when in the area ,site seeing, meals out with staff support on all occasions . As parents we are kept completely informed and updated to all her requirements as and when things develop that affect her, we live with the piece of mind that her every need is cared for. The house has an open door policy , parents and visitors can call at any time without prior arrangements to visit the residents, and always made welcome.

The success of a care home rests largely with the care staff and here the team is generally excellent.
It's an old building with its own challenges, but advantages too.
Having once been a grand hotel the public rooms are high and light, with wide circulation spaces. The bedrooms in the old part share
these advantages. The bathrooms don't reflect the price point - these are tired and need attention.
The open door policy, with any time visiting, is most welcome.
The only area of disappointment is the food. Residents should be offered a choice of excellent meals prepared on site. Mum's only consistent complaint is about mediocre meals that are not delivered hot. I have joined her for three meals, none of which I'd be happy paying for.
In summary: Excellent - staff, space. Needs work - Bathrooms, food.

My Mother has been a resident at Ponsandane Care Home since March 2023. The staff are Kind, considerate and approachable.
The food is of a high standard and personal preferences are catered for as far as is possible. There are three large communal rooms for residents to use in addition to a big sunny
dining room. The garden provides areas for sitting out and holding barbeques and fetes in the summer.
There are lots of activities and entertainment for residents should they wish to join in.
Residents, relatives and visitors are always made to feel welcome.
The Home has a high standard of cleanliness and is warm and inviting.
Overall I am extremely satisfied with the care my Mum continues to receive at Ponsandane.

I am delighted with the attitude of all the staff at Ponsandane to my sister. Everybody has been very caring and undemanding. They have all been sensitive to her and haven't pressured her to do anything she is not inclined to or doesn't wish to do. Always happy to engage and have a chat when she wants
to. The first room was a little small, but we were very thankful for it at such short notice. The room my sister is now in with new carpet is truly excellent. Many thanks to you all. P.S. Food and drink and activities not rated as my sister is not really experiencing these. Security is unobtrusive as this is an open-policy home. Value for money... yes all care is dear but this is a comfortable home in a stunning easy to reach location.
