Addison Park is a single-story building, situated on the outskirts of the market town of Callington. Spacious and welcoming, its unique layout lends itself to a communal feel, whilst having quiet areas for spending time with family, reading or simply watching the world go by.

The management team have built a strong core of both care and house staff that strive to care for each resident as though they are a member of their own family. The relatives are very involved in the running of the home and are always coming up with ideas for fundraisers and activities which further enhances the lives of residents.

All residents are treated as individuals, with a care plan tailored to their specific physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. The team look forward to any enquiries, or arrange a visit if you are looking for a new beginning for a loved one.

My father originally went to Addison Park in 2020 for respite after a spell in hospital. He returned home for a trial period however wasn’t coping well and it was decided he would do better with permanent care. Dad asked to go back to Addison Park and a place was found for him last July, he’s now settled
and happy there, he says it’s a lovely place. Unfortunately due to problems caused by the Covid pandemic I haven’t been unable to visit often or to see Dad's room however I think the staff have coped well with the added problems and done their best to facilitate visiting and help me keep in touch with Dad. I haven’t commented on the food as I haven’t personally seen any of the meals served although Dad has mentioned he thought meals were not as nice as when he first went to the home. My dad can be challenging at times due to dementia but the staff are always patient with him and nothing is too much trouble. It’s a relief for me to know dad is safe, happy, and well cared for at Addison Park.

Dreadful: the building has little, poky rooms with limited washing facilities and narrow corridors. Staff turnover has increased rapidly recently and there is no sense of being welcome when visiting: being turfed out after only thirty minutes is unsatisfactory, to say the least.
But the really dreadful
development is the food situation. The kitchens have been ripped out and kitchen staff dismissed, to be replaced by frozen ready meals heated up in the microwave. Home-cooked cakes with afternoon tea and for birthdays are no longer provided. Don't they understand how important food is to residents who have little else to look forward to? Providers of ready meals may protest that they are balanced and nutritious, but we all know that they taste odd, are too salty, and are mostly mush. My sister loathes them. Furthermore, her food allergy means that there is often nothing whatsoever suitable for her to eat.
This is a dereliction of the duty of care and should be put right immediately.

Dreadful. This place should have been closed down many years ago and apparently, it was in 2015 so not up to scratch now either!
Unprincipled people running the place, have little knowledge of what the patients and their family require. Sadly the wheel keeps on turning and they are still operational
sadly.
Time for everyone to make the noises of close down and allow these poor patients to find a better place to live and endure happier times in their last few months/possibly years of their lives, surely that could have been made available, but seemingly not!

Wonderful, thank you all! The Manager and every one of the staff members at Addison Park are so kind and caring. Could not wish for better care for my parents, who are being pampered 24/7. The home has a welcoming and happy atmosphere, residents seem contented. I'm looking forward to visiting again
soon when lockdown is lifted.

Father was well cared for. He enjoyed the food. The carers were very likable and appeared to understand Dad's well during his respite care.
Good laundry service although some clothes missing. The residents are treated as individuals. Relatives welcomed for visiting.
Downside - building works being
undertaken but acceptable to improve the appearance of the home. The updated parts are looking good.

Found the home to be warm and friendly. Mum has only just moved in so still getting to know everyone. I have a concern around some of her clothes going missing but apart from that, I'm happy with the care she is getting.

The care and kindness of the staff at Addison Park is heartwarming at a very difficult time for us and I appreciate their cheerfulness and good humour.
I realise it is not easy to take on a property that was rather badly let go while you are trying to help folk.
It restores your faith in humanity
when there seems to be so much trouble in the world - I call the news the Doom and Gloom Show!
The cost I find difficult to come to terms with - sorry.

My husband has settled with his severe dementia in this care home. The staff are welcoming, polite and respectful. The home is clean and warm. Always secure, meals are regular, varied menus and can deal with dietary requirements. In house laundry keeps my husband's clothes clean.
I just know that £128
per day, every day is excessive for a 9' x9' room with a commode and sink. So not value for money.

My father was admitted to Addison Park after major surgery and has been unable to return home due to disability. Without exception, management and staff have supported and cared for him unfailingly. Management are easily contactable, Dad has settled quickly and loves having company and is receiving
nutritional, well-balanced meals. Everyone at Addison is friendly and approachable. Knowing Dad is so well cared for is a great weight off our minds and we can visit anytime, even having lunch with him if we want to. Thank you to management and staff.

Excellent physical and mental care of both my father and my myself. Staff are very supportive. Information from the manager and nursing staff is excellent. However, I think an introductory pack is needed.Staff do not wear name badges which makes it difficult when you first come to know who you are speaking
to and some of the routines could be explained. The laundry system needs overhauling, clothes go missing despite being labelled and 3 wool jumpers have been ruined.

I stayed with my mother in her room at Addison Park for the last 9 days of her life. The care that she received there I could not fault, she was treated with care, dignity, and kindness. I could not have found better anywhere else. All the staff showed me kindness and support right from management to
the girls in the kitchen. So from the bottom of my heart, many thanks.

My wife has been resident here for around three years. She has been very well looked after and is happy here. In spite of her lack of mobility, she has had no bed sores or any problems with her fragile skin. There is a low staff turnover, and this enables her to form close and friendly relationships
with her carers. The care is kind and loving and the nursing care is also very good and, when concerns have arisen, management have addressed and resolved them swiftly.

Addison Park is quite a small care home but very peaceful and relaxed. The manager and staff were excellent and really made my father and myself and mother feel at home. The staff really do care and very much showed it to my father, he did say if he ever had to go into permanent care he would like to
go there.

My elderly father was admitted to hospital in December and discharged in February specifically to the care of a nursing home, and Addison Park was chosen. His prognosis was poor, he was unable to stand unaided, couldn't speak much and whilst in hospital, the nurses had to feed him. At Addison Park he
was looked after and coaxed until we have reached the point where he is eating, walking with a frame, which is what he did before and is ready to leave. In fact, he can't understand why he needed to be there! Without the care he received from Addison Park I think this story would have had a very different ending.
As I write this the building is being improved and a new roof is already in place. I believe other work is underway.
