At first, we were nervous about our dad being admitted to a care home after breaking his hip and a short stay in hospital. Quickly, our minds were put at ease, and he settled in instantly. The carers and senior staff were so caring and considerate, looking after him to a high standard as well as making us feel welcome whenever we visited.

Thank you!

My mum was very happy and settled at this care home. The staff were both attentive and professional in caring for her. She liked being there which is something I didn't think would ever happen. From the senior nursing staff, right through to the carers, cleaners, cooks and laundry staff - all were caring and well-trained. It was lovely that I could take my dog in to visit her, which she loved. They had a variety of activities that Mum could choose to join in, which she did.
Visiting was easy and they never made me feel in the way. I got to know some of the staff and it was lovely to see the same people working there week after week.

My mum had complex care needs which they managed extremely well and kept me informed. Mum's appetite came back and she was chatting and laughing - even on days when her ill health was causing her pain. The staff there have created a sense of community which was wonderful. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

The manager made my sister laugh on her arrival at Pinnex, something she had not done for a long time. Wonderful, I could have wept. We have and are so happy and relieved our beautiful sister is so well cared for and loved by all the staff. They are like family and always look after us too.

We also think the re-decorations being done around the house are fabulous - I regularly show my friends pictures. We have also been able to decorate our sister's room to personalise it for her! We love this care home and the staff, especially the manager.

I was dreading coming in but I am so pleased I did. I absolutely love it here. The staff goes out of their way to be so helpful to do things for you. They are all so good and are willing to listen to you any time of day or night. The Manager is so good with staff and patients alike.

On the whole, caring staff. One or two need renewal e.g 1.5 - 2 hours for painkillers, otherwise helpful and not annoyed at bell pulling. Senior staff should not give a full report and other ideas in full hearing of clients - but I think they enjoy it. I personally don't think this is training for junior staff. The manager has too much to do and should be helped more.

Overall Experience
My father was at the Pinnexe unit from March through to April 2016. He was very sick on arrival but was met by the staff and welcomed into their care. My mother was treated with respect and warmth. No judging took place. She had looked after him, things got so bad medical intervention was called for. He was popular with all the staff, but a few nurses stood out. They treated him like the gentleman he was. The place itself surprised me, as my mother said it was 'a home from home'. All the family were treated well and kept informed.
Although in pain and confused, dad trusted these people and they never let him down. The care he received was exceptional.
It is a pity I cannot name individuals, the staff were guardian angels to my dad right up to, and after his death.
The care home and dementia unit are very well run and clean. Welcoming is the word I would use.

MY family's heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped look after dad. He could not have had a more dignified ending to a wonderful life.
