I had a wonderful experience at Culm Valley Care Centre during my visit last week. The staff and management were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's truly heart warming to see how accommodating they are to both residents and visitors, even though they're busy taking care of everyone. Their genuine care and dedication shine through, making it such a lovely place.
Culm Valley Care Centre is an incredible care home set in its own grounds next to St Andrew's church. What makes this such an amazing place for both residents and visitors is the truly fantastic staff - everyone is so friendly, professional, caring and welcoming. Both residents and their family and friends are made to feel very special here, and I really feel as if we are all part of a wonderful family. One other point to mention - the meals are all exceptional, thanks to two fantastic cooks!
Lovely and caring staff, they take great care of me. I would recommend this place to anyone. The food is nice, they are very, very good.
We are professionals who have over the years worked in care settings and with the elderly and vulnerable. The working practices of this home are poor verging on dangerous. We have raised complaints and involved adult social care who agreed that our requests, observations and concerns were all valid. In despite of this, no real improvements have been seen. Every visit normally resulted in some form of conflict, just to make sure our loved one was being treated with dignity and respect. The policies and procedures are a farce, that's if any exist at all - still waiting on copies of some they have quoted to account for poor care practices. Our loved one fell five times during his stay - he was on the commode for well over 45 minutes on one occasion.

When the idea of respite care was suggested I was against it. My partner has had 5 weeks in the centre and has been happy and thriving throughout. His carers have been amazing and done everything for him that was a struggle for me. Had it not been for the fact that we needed a permanent placement closer to our home I would have been happy for him to have stayed.
Overall, I felt that Mum’s needs were being met.
I feel like my mum is well looked after and catered for. The staff are brilliant with Mum and I have peace of mind she is happy. I think the food choices are also good and Mum seems very happy with it.
Other than that, as I said before, the home is satisfactory.
There are times when my mum talks about the TV in her room being put on in the early hours of the morning, which she has reported!
