My father in law has been here since August, and is now a permanent resident.
He is very comfortable and settled here. He is cared for and very well looked after. This is a significant comfort to us. The home is clean, comfortable and constantly being improved.
All of the staff are amazing! Polite and friendly, an exceptional location.

Will definitely recommend.

Staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. The home is spotless and has lovely atmosphere. The location is idyllic, right in the middle of Dartmoor. My grandad is very comfortable and well cared for.

Firstly the staff from the top of the ladder right down to the carers, cooks, laundry etc. Nothing was too much trouble for the care they gave my father for the few weeks he was in their care, kind, friendly staff.

The only thing I would say is some rooms are a little tired, need a freshen up with a lick of paint etc.

My father is really happy at Hart Care and have seen a bit of improvement since he has moved from another care home around 4 months ago.
He receives great care from the care workers and I can see how hard they work when I come to visit the care home.

He has a lovely room overlooking the National Park which gives him a real lift most days.

I visited my friend at the care home on numerous occasions over the last 6 months and found staff very helpful and friendly, with a great service and I could see how well cared for the residents were treated. I also experienced the warmth within the home and the lovely food they were given, with lots of choice.

When I first visited Hart Care Residential Care Home I noticed how friendly and happy everybody was. There is a warm, homely atmosphere, which set me at ease from the outset.
Having visited my parents regularly over the last month since they arrived, I have continued to see a high level of care and respect for the residents.

The public areas and my parent's room are comfortable. warm and clean. The meals look lovely and my parents are now putting on much-needed weight.

Review from Tricia M (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 December 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum has been at Hart Care Residential Care Home for over 4 years now and her experience there has always led her to feeling safe and well cared for. She has praised the carers and other staff on many occasions. In the last year many more positive changes have occurred, including a lot of refurbishment, which have all involved a lot of hard work by staff and management. The home is now looking much updated and even more bright and welcoming, without losing the homely feel I have always found it to have. Staff are kind, helpful and friendly and I feel Mum is in very good hands there.

Communication excellent. Staff know him so well and are able to give me accurate updates. Reception excellent interpersonal skills. He moved into a better soon. Pressure matt installed when he began having occasional falls from bed. Bed lowered too. He feels he is looked after well. I am in regular contact with him and he has never complained. I think the standard of care is high.

My brother was transferred from his previous home to Hart Care Residential this May. His move seemed to be well-handled with minimum fuss, during which the staff kept me fully informed. His room is delightful, he is well cared for, beautifully groomed and seems happy. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and he has regular weekly one-to-one time.

The standard of management, facilities and care provided has improved dramatically over the course of the past year. The care home performed poorly in a CQC audit carried out at the beginning of 2020. However, the owners and the new management have made improvements to all aspects of care since that time. It is my understanding that further improvements are in progress.

As a resident, my stay here has been nearly a year here, maybe a couple of months of that I spent checking other care homes in the local area as my house and doctor was there. Quite a few were similar price-wise but the rooms and beds much inferior. There is a much higher standard at Hart Care that's why I'm staying here. The staff are lovely.

The management and admin staff gave mum a wonderful welcome, including their resident spaniel "Bandit". Mum is being treated with kindness, patience and dignity. All of the staff are well presented, cheerful and very generous with their time. The home is clean and tidy. We were allowed to have Mum's room painted pink to match her room back home. I can't rate Hart Care too highly. They are brilliant!

Initially, we were a little unsure as the home looks a bit tired in places, but we quickly realised that the most important thing 'the care given' is outstanding. All the staff are highly motivated, so caring to my parents. The level of morale and friendliness is again outstanding. Home is kept exceptionally clean. Father has been card for brilliantly (despite his difficult behaviour at times). Would highly recommend.

The staff are kindness itself. They treat the residents as if they were their own relatives. We are delighted that we were able to get a place for my wife who has a variety of medical issues and is given treatment to match her health. You could not ask for more.
