My father was at Hart Care for 4 years, and sadly passed in December. During the time that Dad was there, the staff looked after, and treated him with the greatest of respect. My Dad was always given first class care, and he was always clean and tidy. His bedroom was private, and the food was always well presented, and tasty. Kelly, Karen, and all the staff would always communicate well with the family, and take on board any suggestions we would make. Our thanks go out to all of the staff.

A very successful visit for my husband's birthday. Chef made a beautiful cake enjoyed by all the residents. The atmosphere in the home is calm, happy and very clean. We sat in the gardens, which were sunny and tidy. The staff are brilliant, and nothing is too much trouble.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments especially about the cake which I will ensure to pass on! We are glad the weather was onside for your husbands birthday so that the garden could be enjoyed by you all.

My dad has been a resident of Hart Care Home, Yelverton, for nearly a year. He is comfortable and well looked after. The home has recently been decorated and is in good order. My sister and I take my mum to see my dad most days, and she is made very welcome by the staff.

I have visited my dear friend Steve. Every time I visit, I speak to a lovely lady, who is a receptionist, and she always makes me and my friend Steve very welcome. Which goes a long way. The staff which I have seen are very friendly. I would recommend Hart Care for any body which has to be cared for. So I would give 100% to them. Well done.

My mother has been at Hart Care for over a year. She has dementia and mobility issues. When she left hospital, the doctors told us to prepare for the worst in days or weeks. I'm sure my mother wouldn't still be with us had it not been for the care and compassion provided by the wonderful staff at Hart Care. The atmosphere is more like a family home than a 'care facility'. If you're looking for a place for your loved one, then I recommend you add Hart Care to your short list, go and see them and have a chat.

Thank you so much for such lovely words! We really do try our best to not have a home that feels like a care home to ensure everyone feels as comfortable as possible - no matter how long they stay. I will pass on your wonderful comments to all the staff. Thank you again!

Thank goodness for Hart Care! Wonderful staff that always make us feel so welcome when we visit our dear Dad, it's such a wonderful home, and Dad is so settled there. As a family, it's great to know that Dad is safe and being looked after so well, and we can visit anytime/any day.

I visit the care home regularly, and find the quality of care given is very good in often demanding situations. The cleaning, laundry and upkeep are excellent. The care staff take a lot of trouble with every resident as far as possible. Activities for residents are good, with lots of thought given to physical and mental needs. Management and administration are accessible and responsive, friendly, but always professional.

Review from David L (Partner of Resident) published on 22 April 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My partner suffers from a rare form of dementia (semantic), which can be very difficult to manage but to the great credit of Hart Care manager and staff, they took her in and tried very hard to manage the situation. In the end, it was not possible for her to remain there and has since been to a specialised secure unit. During her short time there, my partner was treated with the most amazing care and respect and they really did everything they could to look after her and manage her condition. The home is well run, very very caring and friendly and I hope one day my partner will be able to return there. I cannot speak highly enough of them.

Reply from Kelly Inglis, Manager at Hart Care Residential Care Home

Thank you very much for your feedback and understanding in what was an incredible difficult time to manage for everyone especially your partner and yourself. We are glad that even though we were not the right place for now that we were able to facilitate a move into a place that is ensuring your partner is receiving the type of help that she needs.

My dad has been at Hart Care Residential Care Home for approx 5 months and can not speak any higher about the staff, management and the care he receives.
I always get a warm welcome when I visit and he really enjoys the activities and meals.

I can thoroughly recommend Hart Care as I have seen the difference in my dad since coming from another care home.

The whole experience up to this point has been absolutely superb. From the manager's initial home visit to every kind word spoken to my mum to the cleanliness of the areas and the respectful consideration of the staff and management. I have the utmost admiration for everyone involved in the day-to-day running of the care home and I know that this is the happiest I have seen my mum, who has been suffering from dementia, in several years. Thank you.

Due to personal reasons, we put mum in Hart Care Home. This was the best thing we have done. She is treated so well that the staff can't do enough for mum or for us. The home doesn't feel clinical but a home with comfort. The team are just amazing.

I was admitted to Hart Care following an operation on my knee/leg as I needed further care. The staff were all friendly and careful and made me feel at home. The help and encouragement I had to help me walk again was really good. The food was excellent. I was sorry it was time to go home.

My mum was a resident at Hart Care for eight weeks approx. In all that time my mum received a high standard of care from all the staff who treated her with kindness and dignity. My mum being a farmer's wife liked plenty of fresh air so being able to go into the garden was really important to her and when a room became available they kindly moved her so she could access the garden. All the staff were very welcoming.

Hart Care Residential Care Home is set in beautiful grounds. The staff are wonderful, kind, cheerful and helpful. I have a small dog and everyone has made her stay a wonderful holiday. In fact, she probably would like to stay here full-time.
The food is very good and tailored to my diet.

Altogether a very enjoyable stay, nothing was too much trouble and it felt more like a hotel stay with friends. This must come from the management.

Friendly and caring and all efforts to make my husband feel welcome. Introduced to the friendly staff, cup of tea provided and questions invited from the staff. His clothes, toiletries were out in drawers for him. The manager came to see all ways well and have a welcoming talk with him and us (my daughters and self). He was told my daughter could bring the beloved family dog to see him which really pleased him. We visited for a few days and were delighted that he seemed happy and settled and indeed has remained so so far.

My dad came into Hart Care Residential Home as a temporary respite following a fall and broken hip and elbow.
The staff are amazing, caring and kind. The home itself is spotlessly clean and fresh! The food is first class and my Dad enjoys every meal. There is often music or coffee mornings and a new activities coordinator has just joined to this will mean more events.

I highly recommend Hart Care and my dad is content, well looked after and happily settled.
