A caring environment. Good level of cleanliness and good management.

My father’s condition declined rapidly in early 2020. And in the height of the pandemic, he was sectioned. No words for how difficult a time that was for everyone. He was then placed into Sefton Hall and after settling in period, I can say without a doubt, he is very happy and stable. He considers it his home. He continues to surprise us with how well kept he is, content and engaged. I cannot thank (all) the staff at Sefton enough for how caring they are and the hard work they put in. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their services.

All I can say is that Sefton is a fantastic home. My mum has been there since the end of December 2019, and since then, she has improved so much from the great care they give her. All the staff are friendly, welcoming, caring and cannot do enough for their residents. The home is always clean and welcoming. The residents are always occupied with crafts, games and visiting entertainment. I would not hesitate in recommending this home. I am always singing their praises and am so grateful I do not have to worry as my mum is happy, clean, safe and cared for.

In December 2020, during the Covid pandemic, our mum had to be relocated and we chose Sefton Hall to be her new home. We found the staff to be warm, welcoming, and friendly and they responded to our queries readily, however small. We felt reassured that the care and safety of the residents were a high priority for them. Sefton has worked diligently in challenging times and the staff show kindness and compassion. The care home has a homely atmosphere where I feel residents can be themselves. Fun and laughter are much appreciated here and the team works hard to provide an enriching environment with a variety of activities which stimulate the senses eg BBQs, musicians, miniature ponies, crafts, inflatable Olympics and much more. As a family, we feel completely confident that our mum is being given the best possible care.

I was very distressed when my wife was admitted to Sefton Hall. As my wife and best friend for over 60 years it was soul destroying. From the first day, I was overwhelmed with the kindness and consideration shown to me and my wife. Over the last year or so, I have been amazed at the thoughtfulness and kindness shown to us both, even simple things like remembering our names or a birthday cake on her birthday. I have absolute faith that my wife is thoroughly and professionally cared for, by really nice people. Thank you.

My husband was admitted to Sefton Hall in the middle of May 2021, having spent two weeks in the hospital, being admitted from the previous care home where he was a resident. I cannot fault the love, care, help and attention that he receives at Sefton Hall. The staff seem to have unlimited patience and compassion. I admire them! They keep him clean and tidy, even though he does often object to his personal care! Although he is confined to his bed, they make sure that he has a clean shirt on every morning and is always clean and tidy on my weekly visits. My love and thanks to all the staff at Sefton Hall.

I cannot speak highly enough of Sefton Hall, its staff and management. Thank you all for looking after my husband so well.

The wonderful team at Sefton Hall looked after my dad for the last 6 years of his life. We all had ups and downs during that time especially as dads health worsened and his needs increased, the level and complexity of arrangements also increased. Dad was always well looked after and it became apparent to mum and me during his last week with us just how much the staff "cared" for him in more than the sense of following a care plan and going through the motions. They all really cared and were not afraid to show it. The level of emotion shown is something I felt comforting and will always cherish.

I think it is really excellent place to be, all staff are really lovely and treat me well.

I have lived here for the months of December 2017 to the present day. I have found staff excellent, care is good and regular. The food is nice and more than enough. My room is pretty, clean and bright. I am very well cared for. We all live as a family.

I have only praise for the staff at Sefton Hall. I cannot thank them enough for their care of my husband and for the kindness to me which I cannot fault.

Almost from day one, the care that the home had promised failed to take place.

He was continually given food that he did not like even though he had told them what he could and could not eat. We were told he could choose when to have his meals, this is not true, lunch time is 12.30 and tea time 4.30. If he did not agree to go to bed before 7 pm then he would be left.

When he rang his bell a member of staff would appear, they would turn it off and say we will be back in a minute, sometimes this might be hours.

In the 11 weeks my father was a resident he had one bath and one shower.

I visited each day and voiced concerns but these were ignored.

I have written a formal complaint, had a reply saying they would get back to us within 28 days as they take complaints seriously yet 11 weeks and still no reply.

Sefton may be excellent at marketing and promoting themselves but their care is very poor.

He is now in another care home and is back to his old self.

The whole team were absolutely wonderful, treating my mother with dignity and care, being always cheerful with nothing being too much trouble.

The nursing home is as comfortable as possible and the staff are caring and friendly. The food is good but occasionally repetitive.

My nanny has been at Sefton Hall for a few months now and it makes me happy whenever I visit her to see. The staff are always very welcoming to me and really care about my grandmother. She is looked after very well and is making friends with the staff. There is always something going on to keep her occupied. A fantastic place!

I had a one week respite stay at Sefton Hall and the staff were fantastic. The food was brilliant and the service could not be faulted. The hands-on carers, although mainly male, were discreet, sensitive and caring. The surroundings and atmosphere were clean, comfortable and relaxing. I am disabled due to multiple sclerosis and wheelchair bound. I go into respite to give my husband, who is my main carer, a break. I have never really enjoyed going into respite before my visit to Sefton Hall. I now I look forward to my next respite stay, and it will now not only be a break for my husband but an enjoyable holiday for me. Not only is the care home a lovely place but also Dawlish is a wonderful holiday town, right on the beach with a beautiful park and river to visit. Most of the shops and cafes have wheelchair access. Dawlish itself is a lovely place to stay and also has an excellent bus and train service.

My wife came to Sefton in April after spending some time at 2 other nursing homes. I have visited her every day since and judge her care to be excellent. The staff are caring and loving and my wife has settled well into a happy and loving home. I couldn't be happier with Sefton.

Dad's first experience of a care home, he stayed for 10 days. Comfortable room but stuffy in the hot weather. Food plentiful, if somewhat bland. Dad was not encouraged to drink enough in hot weather. Other than that all staff caring, friendly and eager to help. Dad had trouble understanding some of the accents! Overall very pleased with the attention he received. Thank you.

When looking for a new home for my mum, I viewed Sefton Hall, everybody was so helpful and decided I wanted my mum to go there. She was assessed in hospital and they were happy to take her, she went there Friday 13th May. I got there soon after she did, the staff were so good. She took a turn for the worse later that week, they were so lovely every time I phoned on the Thursday evening. When I phoned on the Friday morning the nurse said I should go in. I got there at 8am, everything was explained to me and I was made a cup of tea, later that morning I was made coffee and toast. Sadly my mum died 4 hours later. They were so kind to her and so kind to me that morning, I wasn't rushed out, all staff were brilliant. I have been telling everybody how brilliant Sefton Hall is and I only wish my mum would have had longer there.
