My mother has been a resident at Butterfly Lodge for more than two years now. The staff have always been amazing. This March it was my parent's anniversary and the staff went out of their way to contact my brother and I for photos and a little back story of their lives together. They asked my dad to come up for a special lunch and they decorated my mum's room, had a special table set for the lunch with flowers and had the “jolly trolley” set up with a video showing all of their photos while playing their favourite old songs! We were blown away with this! There have been many other instances like this over the years. Kind, caring, and compassionate staff who work as a team to give the best care possible to their patients.
Thank you very much for your lovely review, it was a very special day.
From the day my wife was admitted she has received 100% top care. Nothing is too much trouble and leaves me feeling fully confident in everything they do. They keep families updated on everything thing that goes on, a truly fantastic care home.
Thank you very much for your lovely review which I will share with the team.
We will forever be in your debt.
The room was warm and comfortable with lovely pictures on the wall. It was always clean and tidy.
We were very fortunate to have Mum placed with them.
We could always ask any questions and were always treated well.
It was a home from home for Mum and she was always comfortable and well looked after.
Thank you again for taking the time to do this review.
The care and attention given to my sister in her time at Butterfly Lodge Nursing Home was second to none. By far the best home any of my relatives were in. The care given and the welcome to guests was always carried out with a friendly attitude and smile.
Thank you so much John, we really appreciate you taking the time to do this review.
Mum has been at Butterfly Lodge since the summer. All the staff are so caring. Nothing is too much trouble. The family are able to visit at anytime and are made to feel very welcome, especially Dad who visits daily. We are kept up to date with Mum's changing needs and progress. There are many activities which Mum is able to join in. The rooms are clean and bright and the food is amazing. When considering homes, we wanted to ensure Mum would obviously be safe but more importantly treated with care and compassion. We are confident we made the right choice.
Thank you so much Nick, I will share this with the team, we really appreciate you taking time to do this review.
My father on two separate occasions boarded at Butterfly Lodge. The first visit was for three months, he was happy, he loved the trips and care team. On many occasions I would pop in and there would always be a member of staff having a chat with him in his room. He liked to stay in his room. On the second occasion a year later Dad was end of life, he stayed for ten days, the care he received was amazing. We moved into Dad's room until he passed, we can't thank Butterfly Lodge enough for everything they did for Dad and us as a family.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, it was a real pleasure knowing your dad and meeting you as a family.
Butterfly Lodge delivers exemplary care to clients. The managers, nurses, and care staff are absolutely wonderful. They are caring, compassionate, enabling and so kind. They treat my client as an individual and not part of a system. My client has improved beyond all recognition. I am so grateful for making my client's life so special and for optimising her quality of life during her remaining days. Thank you.
Thank you again; it means a lot to us you taking the time to do this.
My mother resides at this care home. She's been with Butterfly Lodge for a long while now. She wasn't sure of her surroundings and the people at first and kept asking to go home. A good few months had passed and she settled down quite well. Getting used to the staff and slowly making close friends. She quite liked the activities co ordinator and has built a very good rapport with him. She loves musical activities and showcases her talent with much enjoyment despite her limiting condition. Music makers always seems to be a favourite activity for my mum and obviously was very popular with other residents. She enjoys going outside in the garden. The staff are very caring and fully understand everyone's illnesses and conditions with the best compassionate care. Management are very informative and do contact you with regular updates about your relatives with social media interaction and participation which is brilliant I must say with regular weekly photographs.
Thank you for your lovely review. Mum certainly does enjoy our musical activities! As always, we welcome feedback on how we can improve your overall experience. Thank you.
I am always made to feel welcome by staff who understand how difficult it can be for family members.
Thankyou so much for your lovely review which will be shared with the team.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the staff at Butterfly Lodge who looked after my dear mum during her brief stay there. The standard of care my mum received was outstanding, all the staff were very kind and caring. Would definitely recommend this home with all its activities - five stars.
Thank you for your wonderful review, I will pass this on to the team and it was a pleasure to take care of your lovely mum. Kind regards.
Everyone up here is lovely. Grandad has been here for 3 months and is well cared for by all nurses. They have music on in evening to keep guests entertained. They have a pretend bar in the canteen so the old dears can pull a pint.
Thank you for your kind review, which I will share with the team.
Highly recommend Butterfly Lodge. They made Mum's time there happy and stimulating. She loved the frequent trips out and busy activities in the home. Her first words were always "I love it here" and the staff were friendly and helpful and kind.
Thank you very much for your lovely review. I will share this with the team.
My mother is a resident here and the staff are fantastic with her. She suffers from dementia and has some difficult days which they deal with, with compassion and professionalism. Mum is happy and enjoys her trips out and the many activities later on. Definitely five star, thank you.
Thank you very much for this lovely review. I will share this with the team.
An absolutely incredible home. The care my nan receives is outstanding and I couldn't ask for anymore. The staff also provide support to all my family and go above and beyond to give any help they can. I can't thank the staff enough, for everything they do. It makes leaving my nan that little bit easier, when you know they are being looked after by such lovely staff. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. It does mean a lot to us.
My dear mum received wonderful care at Butterfly Lodge for over a year. The staff are incredibly caring and respectful of residents and they work in the most challenging conditions. I too, was treated well and with compassion, especially as Mum was receiving end-of-life care. The staff were there for me too at the end and I knew they would take care of her. It may not be a glamorous environment, but the care is first-rate, which after all is the main thing anyone needs. Heart felt thanks to all staff.
Thank you for your lovely review, which I will share with the team.
Since my dad has been here after his stroke, he has definitely shown such progress with his speech and interaction. The staff go above and beyond. We always feel so welcome when we visit. So happy that we have the support of such an amazing home.
Thank you so much for your lovely review which I will share with the team.
This is truly, a lovely place. The staff can't do enough and deserve so much credit for all they do for all the residents. Not only do they care for my nan, but they take the time to speak to us, the family, when we visit and just can't do enough. It's a home-from-home for my nan.
Thank you very much for this, it is very much appreciated.
My mum has only been at the home for a couple of months and I am so pleased with the improvements I have seen in her already. Having been so worried about the effect of moving her from another care home, I now wish I had done it sooner. All the staff have been so welcome and friendly since Mum arrived. I feel that my mum is well cared for and looked after and that I am kept up to date with any issues regarding her health. She has been on trips and has taken part in activities, which means so much. I am so grateful to everyone at Butterfly Lodge.
Thank you so much for this lovely review, which I will share with the team. Your mum really enjoys the trips and is great company.
So lucky to have found a lovely home for Mum. Supportive at all times and many activities offered for Mum and other residents to enrich their days. Mum's room is always clean and tidy, just how she would like it. I am always informed of changes in behaviour or illness.
Thank you for your lovely review which I will share with the team, we love having your mum here with us.
Since my mother has been at Butterfly Lodge, she has responded so positively to the excellent specialised care that she is receiving. I live in Australia and recently visited my mother at the care home regularly over a two-week period. I cannot speak more highly of the management and staff. They have been so helpful, welcoming and understanding. I was able to witness first-hand how well my mother is being cared for. She is being treated with love, dignity, respect and kindness. The staff genuinely care for all the residents, each one with their special care needs. I was always made to feel so welcome on my visits to the care home and when I phone, the staff are always so friendly and helpful about letting me know how my mum is doing. It is wonderful that the home organises day trips and activities for the residents to participate in. I am so grateful to the wonderful management and staff, for looking after my mum and treating her with love and kindness. Thank you so much!
Thank you Sally for your lovely review, which I will share with the team. Your mum is so lovely and we are very honoured to have her living here with us.

Meet the Team (10)

I am a Registered mental health nurse and worked for 30 years in the NHS, I then moved on to be a General manager in nursing/Dementia homes. I am passionate about my job and love to build relationships with residents and their families.
I came to Butterfly Lodge in 2021 and have been enjoying getting to know the residents, staff and relatives. I strive to ensure that the residents have an amazing quality of life with the best care and support from our staff and enriching activities to participate in. As a team, we aim to provide a fun environment where everyone feels valued and safe in an inclusive home.

I have over seven years of experience working in dementia care and joined Butterfly Lodge in 2019 as a Senior Health Care Assistant. Over time, I progressed into a Nursing Assistant role and proudly supported the management team during the COVID-19 pandemic, including working as a COVID Marshal to help keep residents, families and staff safe.
Since 2020, I have worked closely alongside the Registered Manager and was officially appointed Deputy Manager in 2021. I am passionate, caring, and always place the needs, dignity and well-being of our residents at the heart of everything I do. I am extremely proud of the strong, trusting relationships I have built with residents’ relatives and friends, and I believe open communication and compassion are key to providing high-quality care.

I joined Camelot Care in 2004 as a registered nurse. I am dedicated to my role and I am passionate about providing good quality care to our residents. I always have a professional manner with everyone, residents, family and other professionals.

I joined Camelot Care in 2002, I have a customer care background and am passionate about making sure our clients receive the best care possible and making sure all clients and family members feel welcome in the home.

I joined Butterfly Lodge in 2012 as a health care assistant and truly found my calling, I completed my NVQ 3 and became a Senior HCA soon after. I was always looking to gain more knowledge and so when I had the opportunity to undertake a nursing assistant training programme, I jumped at the chance. The course gave me so much more knowledge and understanding or medication management, wound care and care planning processes. in 2015 I was promoted to Nursing assistant and work alongside the Registered Nurse

In my role as dementia Lead for the home, I ensure the team are guided to ensure they provide the highest level of care supporting our residents.

I joined Butterfly Lodge in 2008 while I was still at school working in the kitchen and laundry, when I was old enough I moved over to care and worked as a health care assistant eventually completing my NVQ level 2 and 3 in Adult Social Care and went on to become senior. I undertook further training in medication and tissue viability so I can support the nurses as a nursing assistant

I joined Butterfly Lodge in 2003 as a chef and became head chef in 2022. in my time as head chef I curated a more seasonal homecooked menu as well as working with the dietitian to reduce the need for additional prescribed supplements to tackle weight loss by trialling homemade 'Super Shakes' which have been a huge success. We have scored 5 stars in our food hygiene inspection and in 2024 the whole kitchen team were proud to win the culinary team of the year at the celebrating excellence awards

I joined the team in 2009 as Activity Coordinator, I have a real passion for getting to know residents and take a real interest into their lives before coming to our home, I have built great relationships with residents and their family and friends. we have enjoyed 100s of trips to all sorts of places in our mini bus

I joined the team as head of housekeeping in 2019, I have a real passion for keeping our home well presented, clean and safe and take real pride in this.
