Changing shifts - night to early morning - lack of attention to patients needs; drinks, turning, checking if comfortable.
Staff appear not to have time.

Thank you for taking the time to review our home, we are happy to hear that your overall feedback for standard of the home is good and that you are likely to recommend Meyrick Rise to others.
At the time of changeover, there are day and night teams within the home so that the handover can be given, this is to ensure that correct information for the day is passed over to the team for the day that lies ahead. It is essential that all new team members are present during this time to ensure a good quality and continuity of care. Within this period call bells are answered by both night and day teams and breakfast is in the process of starting. Our night teams have given early morning drinks to those residents who would like to receive one. Before leaving any resident’s room, our teams are trained to ask if they are comfortable and happy; I will reinforce this message at our next team meeting. Our team ratio during changeover times is 1:2. We have increased the activities level of the team from 2 to 3 after this review came in so we hope you will see a varied and interesting programme in the upcoming year. If you’d like to discuss anything further, please feel free to pop in and see me at your earliest convenience.

I attended the Veterans Day which was wonderful.
This was the first time I had seen most of the clients and staff.
The staff were incredible, so caring, getting down to those in wheelchairs, soft words and gentle touches, this also applied to the senior staff.

Veteran's Day, what a wonderful day was had by all. I could not fault it in any way. The manager and staff created a most superb setting for this very special occasion. I have lived in this care home for four years, during which time I have experienced a number of events, which I have enjoyed.

The staff at Meyrick Rise are fantastic, my Grandma loves living in the home. She is always busy engaging in activities or on minibus trips. The very helpful home receptionist has signed me up to the Magic Moments app so I can send messages and videos to Grandma whilst I'm away on holiday which is brilliant.

We moved our 95 and a half-year-old relative into Meyrick Rise, having seen it only 2 days prior to the move.
Our relative was bedridden and was cared for over the 14 months until her peaceful death.
The standard of care, attention, cleanliness, food and general atmosphere can only be described as
outstanding. Staff were friendly and respectful. We had no concerns for our relative.

This was the first time I had placed mum in respite as I needed a break after 2 years of caring for her 24/7. It was difficult to entrust her to somebody else but I need not have worried. I was astonished at the kindness and patience shown by the staff at all levels, from first contact through to departure.
It was better than I could have hoped and made such a difference to my break knowing I need not worry about her as she was in such excellent hands. I cannot say thank you enough! I wholeheartedly commend and recommend Meyrick Rise.

My aunt who has lived at Meyrick Rise for a number of months now and has settled in well, the staff are so caring and will go out of their way to help her.
Food is delicious and I often stay with her for lunch, beautiful!
Activities keep her entertained well and nurses make sure she is well cared
for medically. You can't fail with this home.

Our friend was a new resident but staff all seemed to know him and take time to make life easy for him.
Our first visit to the home, staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were offered drinks and the opportunity to stay and have lunch with our friend. We were told we could visit at any time.

Since the new manager has taken on her role, she does an excellent job. The residents are nicely dressed, the dining room is beautifully set up for the residnets and she is very caring towards each resident.

My dad stayed at Meyrick Rise, unfortunately for a shorter time than we had hoped but during his stay, all the staff were excellent. So caring, professional kind and warm they all welcomed him got him involved in activities and settled him in. The care he received was second to none, from the chef through
to management, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone here goes the extra mile for all their residents and visitors. I would not hesitate to recommend here to anyone. Thank you all for your care and kindness you gave my dad and family.

My father was admitted to the care home following the need for help and care. He is happy and calls it "home" which is comforting to know he feels safe and has a good relationship with the staff both nursing and administrative; also the maintenance team pop in and out as there are fewer male residents.
This in itself shows the caring attitude the residents receive all round. The home is comfortable and clean, the staff are friendly and there are activities for those who want to join in. There is a choice of foods and dad is very happy. The team looking after dad is caring and the supervisor and others are very caring and show genuine concern if things are not quite right. We have no complaints - his room has an ensuite toilet and basin but the need for supervision with showering requires a member of staff to assist each morning, so he uses these facilities to ensure his safety. We are more than happy with the care and the attention to his needs.
