Overall Experience
Eagles Mount care home provided excellent facilities for all residents. The staff are most polite and helpful at all times. The rooms are spacious and well-presented with quality fittings and decoration.

The food, breakfast, lunch and supper are also good with many varieties of meat, fish, chips and vegetables etc. The in-house chef will also serve any of your requirements. Prescriptions are dealt with excellently by the floor supervisors. In general, this care home meets all of the professional service requirements.

Overall Experience

Pre-booked a visit for today (26/3/22), upon our arrival we were greeted by a very harassed unkempt member of staff (extremely poor representative of what I understand to be a luxury care home). She advised we could not visit because of a Covid outbreak. No phone call had been made to us beforehand and having had a 1.5 hour journey this was extremely upsetting., particularly as the resident was expecting us and looking forward to our visit. Having read the guidance in full dated 22/3/22, I am not convinced that they were correct in their actions. We were not offered any option, e.g. a pod visit, window visit, etc. which the guidance suggests could have taken place. I appreciate the difficulties that they have in dealing with Covid but the resident we were there to see is bed bound and therefore not mixing with other residents - we were Covid negative so there was no genuine reason to refuse the visit!

Reply from Juliana Brasil, Associate Director of Digital Operations at Eagles Mount Care Home

We are sorry to hear of your difficulties when visiting Eagle's Mount. We completely understand how frustrated you were when you couldn't see your friend. I confirm that an investigation into this matter took place. Unfortunately, when you booked the visit, you didn't share your contact details...

Since Nanny was admitted to Eagles Mount in February 2021, it's been really hard not being able to see her face to face. However, pod visits have been great. Finally, the lockdown has lifted a little, and we have been able to see Nanny in-person taking all necessary precautions. We have been made to feel extremely welcome and had an extremely enjoyable visit. The best part of the visit was seeing Nanny give her great-grandson his birthday present from her, and we have some lovely photo's of them together.

It has been very difficult because, since my mother entered the care home, we have been governed by Covid. Despite this, the staff have pulled out all the stops to make sure relatives have good contact with their loves ones. Communication is excellent. Health and safety of everyone is the top priority. The resident are treated as individuals, and all the staff care about them as people - not a number.

From the admission with the deputy who reassured me and Mum that she will be cared for, I have been able to look after my own health knowing Mum is 100% safe and well cared for. The deputy has helped me deal with social workers and guilt around placing Mum into care.
