My mother was a resident at NLC for 2 years until her death in April. As a family, we have nothing but praise for the care staff, they are amazing. They work so hard to ensure that residents are given the best possible care and entertainment. Mum’s wish was to die at Northleach because she would be
looked after by people who cared about her and were kind to her and where she felt safe - her words. Mum’s death was dealt with in such a kind and sensitive way, with both Mum and us, her family, feeling very supported. We were also very touched that the care staff were represented at her funeral, that meant so much to us. The staff all deserve our heartfelt thanks. Every one of them plays their part in making Northleach Court special.

In the short time that my father was a resident at Northleach Court, the care from every member of the team was outstanding. In the last few days of his life, they went above and beyond for both my father and me.
I can't thank you enough.

My father was in Northleach Court Care Home, from April 2023 to January 2024.
I found all the staff to be kind and very caring, everything that could be done was done. Also, there was much kindness shown to me on my visits to the care home. I always felt the staff, went out of their way to be helpful
to Dad and me.

We had to find respite care for my dad at very short notice and were fortunate that Northleach Court had a room. From the first meeting with the team to his moving in took 3 days which is very impressive. Whilst he was in the care home for just over 4 weeks the level of care he received was outstanding.
He was made to feel welcome and looked after. He enjoyed the food, especially the 'hot lunch'. His medical needs were taken care of. From when he went into to when he came out, was night and day, he had regained weight and confidence. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to help him. The only slight issue is that the home is currently undergoing renovation - this wasn't a problem when he was there however when completed it should result in the look and finish of the building being equal to the quality of care provided. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to others.
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Director at Northleach Court Care HomeIt was a real pleasure having your father living at Northleach albeit for a short time - we hope to see him again. In the meantime on behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank you very much for your most generous and detailed review.

My husband was in Northleach Court Care Centre for the period of April 2023 to December 2023. I felt he was respected and was given the chance to carry on everyday life as far as he could. His clothing was always clean and he looked as smart as he was used to. When he was ill I was advised of any problems
and was consulted about his ongoing care. His change in awareness was dealt with on a regular basis and any challenging moments were dealt with in a gentle fashion. I was able to visit on a regular basis and never felt in the way or not wanted. Given that I had wished to care for my husband myself I feel that Northleach Court looked after his complex needs as well as anyone could.

I wish to express my family's profound gratitude to all staff at Northleach Court Care Centre for the highly professional and attentive care provided to my mother during the last weeks of her life. It was clear, from our first visit, that all those who worked in the home shared the same ethos, which
was manifested by the staff's dedication to doing everything possible to keep the residents safe, as comfortable as possible and valued as individuals. Our interaction with all staff involved in my mother's care was highly commendable. Our views were routinely sought on how her needs could best be met, and we were confident that no effort would be spared to bring solace to her, during her final days with us. The ministration of gentleness and kindness, which was always conspicuous, was also extended to us, her family, whenever we came to spend time with her. Northleach Court Care Centre is a special place. The staff are inspirational in their commitment to others, and we regard ourselves as being very fortunate to have had their greatly appreciated support during a very difficult and painful period.

We really appreciated the kindness and professionalism of all the staff at Northleach Court Care Centre who cared for our mother over the last few months. In particular, we would like to thank the team for making Mum comfortable and providing such excellent end-of-life care for both Mum and us as a
family. This made her last few days into a positive experience.
We agonised about sending Mum to a nursing home, but we were so glad that she came to you. You deserve your recent 'good' Care Quality Commission judgement; we would have given you the highest accolade. You give loving, sensitive care, trying your best to ensure even the most reluctant resident finds ‘joy’ in most days.

My father stayed at Northleach Court for a week's respite, until care at home was put in place as he’s not quite ready to move in as a permanent resident. I was very impressed with all we met while he was there. The office staff were great, very happy, knowledgable and friendly. Dad’s room was clean
and tidy with nice furniture that looked new. Dad was settled in quickly as the nursing staff were so lovely, kind, and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Dad self-administers his insulin under the supervision of the nurses, if they had any concerns, I would get a call and we would discuss them. I was allowed to visit at any time, which helped on the days I work. Dad could have his meals downstairs or in his room. The food looked good and Dad said it was great. They are having lots done to it, so it’s a bit messy where the builders are working, that shouldn’t put anyone off, as the care by far compensates, all the staff are so kind, caring and happy.

Mum passed away in December. I cannot tell you how pleased we were with mum's care, 110% in the last eighteen months, mum was always clean and tidy, her room was so very clean whenever we visited and the staff, well they went above and beyond, used to have to do a two-hour drive to visit mum, tea and
biscuits were always offered on arrival. When she passed, we could not have been more comforted. Thank you to all who were on duty and had cared for mum whilst she was at Northleach Court Care Centre.

We would like to thank everyone at Northleach for the care and kindness shown to our relative. The nursing team were mindful of her vulnerable state of health and did everything possible to make her both comfortable and safe. The care pack online is a very useful, confidential and productive way to
enable appropriate relatives and professionals to have a view of the day-to-day and almost hourly welfare needs without constant phone calls - that notwithstanding when you do need to phone they are patient, helpful and responsive. She had two medical emergencies and they let us know immediately, consulted us and the emergency services and response teams were contacted quickly to attend - when you live some distance from the facility it is vitally important to have that confidence in their communications.

I cannot praise highly enough the care given to my mother by all the staff at Northleach Court Care Centre. I am very pleased with the improved physical health my mother displayed since she become a resident of Northleach Court last August. Whilst she is unable to communicate clearly due to dementia, it is evident that she loves the attention and fuss made of her by the staff and enjoys the activities and
friendly atmosphere. Booking visits are safe and well organised enabling me to regularly visit my mother or take her out for a treat. Thank you so much for taking such great care of mum and finding the moments to make her feel special. You are all awesome!

I am generally happy with the care my dad receives. However, in the last few months, he hasn't had a haircut and his toenails are very long. Although medically, he is being cared for, matters are not being dealt with. I wonder what else. Also, the building works are going on forever, taking away the
full amenity for my father.
Reply from Geoff Butcher, Director at Northleach Court Care HomeThank you for your review - it is very unfortunate that a combination of health issues and externally imposed Covid restrictions have prevented haircuts and the chiropodist visiting until recently. Please contact the manager with all and any concerns. Unfortunately, our building contractor has for financial reasons withdrawn from the contract but we hope to restart works within a couple of weeks.

Dad became a resident at Northleach Court Care Centre over two years ago when his dementia was too hard to manage at home. The building, being very old is bound not to be the easiest to work in for staff but it was the spirit of a place that mattered to us most and they have that in abundance at Northleach
Court which also gave a wonderful sense of freedom to residents and visitors. The care home staff manage an array of dementia patients wonderfully and in times before covid, we felt very welcomed to come and go, join in the entertainment and feel part of the family there. Over lockdown, we felt we were kept well informed and when visits were allowed the home still welcomed us with no complaint even though bringing my elderly mum to visit also entailed more help from them. Plus having to manage residents being brought to special visit areas would, we know have brought its challenges, especially with dad who would not have liked being disturbed from his comfy chair in the residents' lounge! Well done all. Big respect and thank you.

The staff at Northleach have and still doing a fantastic job. My husband has been there for one year now, going from palliative care to how is now, is all down to the fantastic job of all staff dealing with him; he has started to put weight on, eating and drinking well now; I am notified on even the
smallest of things. I have no worries at all about his care, his personal care and eating as they arranged to get a soft diet for him. I know of all activities that go on for all important dates.

It has made life so much easier for me being apart from him knowing how well he is cared for.
Well done, and thank you to all staff.

And good luck with all ongoing renovations
