Excellent care, a very warm welcome and a great family feel every time I come to visit. Always go above and beyond for each person, always have things going on for everyone and the bond between the residents and workers is really special and very nice to see.

My husband has been at Hamilton for a while now and I have no complaints. I am very happy with the care my husband receives, the food is great and I'm always offered lunch. I honestly couldn't wish for a better place for my husband to be.

My mother has been at Hamilton Park for 6 months and is very contented. She joins in all the activities every day, even winning the 10-pin bowling at the age of 102. Her nails are done frequently and at the moment they are sparkly silver, she enjoys the food and seems to eat everything. The best part
of the home is the caring staff, they all seem so patient and kind and retain the residents' dignity as much as possible. Sadly the building is tired, but my mother only sees the care and love she receives.

I understand you are busy however to visit and no carers on the floor at all, with residents alone downstairs is disgraceful and a severe health and safety risk.
Not the first time!

Although my father was not at Hamilton for long, he received the best care from the staff, on visiting they all seemed very friendly and helpful.
The activities and food were great. My only negative would be inside the home especially the bedrooms they could do with updating.
The Manager was always
contactable and quick response.

All the staff are caring and friendly.
From the first time I visited before Dad moved in, the staff were friendly from the get-go. I am so blessed to have a dad in such a wonderful environment where everyone is friendly.
The staff are so supportive of both me and my dad. I cannot have asked nor prayed
for a better place for Dad to live.

Although the premises are old, the care home is very clean and the care given at Hamilton Park is of a very good standard. Cheerful friendly staff who are caring and sensitive to my mother's needs. Good sized bedroom with an ensuite and a nice view of trees. Plenty of activities. The food looked good.
Management is available for a chat if needed.

I can honestly say that my father's stay here was short but sweet. The comfort they brought to him was amazing at his end of life. The manager is outstanding as are the staff, I would like to thank them all for every bit of help they gave me at a very difficult time. I realised that I knew one lady
who has been a carer for so much of her life and now deals with the housekeeping side but to me she will always be a carer. She helped me and stayed with me when I was so nervous about going into the room to see dad when he passed. I was also offered a drink by one of the staff they were all amazing and caring. The young lady in the office was brilliant, I can't thank them all enough. I would highly recommend Hamilton Park to anyone for their loved ones.

On my first visit, I was greeted nicely by all of the staff team and immediately made to feel very welcome (with a cup of coffee). The atmosphere in the dining/living area seemed very relaxed with enough staff evident to meet the needs of the people sitting there. The staff have since kept me fully
informed of my father's care needs, and the manager has taken the time to get to know me and to also have an active role in my father's care. The activities coordinators seem to have a genuine enthusiasm for their jobs, and there always seems to be something happening each time I have visited. I have also been very impressed with the quality of the food being offered at mealtimes.

My brother was only a resident from August 2022 until he passed away on April 29th 2023. During his time at Hamilton Park Nursing Home, his well-being improved noticeably compared with the decline in general condition that occurred when he was largely forgotten about in his own home during lockdown.
He owned his house and was very reluctant to move into care but in his last few months at Hamilton Park, he became 'active' again leaving the depression that settled upon him.

My mum was admitted to the home from hospital for end of life care covered by the NHS. Mum was only there a few days before she passed away so can only comment from brief experience but will say we couldn't have placed Mum in a better care home if we had tried! On Mum's last day, she went downhill fast
and no family could be at her bedside in time to be with her, but the home staff were and they did not leave her to pass alone. Family members were able to be with Mum later that day, they were looked after so well by the staff who provided food, drink, care and comfort to them at a difficult time. I visited the home 5/6 days later to help collect Mum's personal effects and to thank the staff. I found that same concern, care and comfort from them. The home was clean, yes, the decor was a bit tired but in life the service you get depends on the people who provide it, the home staff are diamonds! From experience, I would recommend the home and its staff!

May not be "The Ritz" but most certainly makes up for this in all the important ways. Excellent food etc. but above all, professional and caring staff who actually seem to enjoy their work! The resident that was in the nursing home wasn't in there for long as she was at end of life. The care she received was excellent and dignified. She was kept clean and comfortable, and we were able to bring in photos flowers and CDs of her favourite music to make her room more familiar and homely. Nothing
was too much trouble for the staff that took care of her. A television was provided which made her very happy as she loved watching it.

Mum only moved here four weeks ago but was made welcome straight away. Staff are keen to learn about her likes, dislikes and past life so that they can cater and find activities for her to do.
We have found it easy to talk with staff and they are always cheerful and welcoming.
Mum's room is not
large but it has been freshly decorated with new furniture and flooring.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.782)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.782) out of 10 for Hamilton Park Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.782 for Hamilton Park Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (283 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 331 Ratings = 4.782
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hamilton Park Nursing Home is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered manager Joined: 2023

With over 15 years of experience working in the care sector across a variety of roles, I have developed a strong passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care that truly focuses on the individual. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work closely with residents, families and staff, which has given me a deep understanding of how important it is to create an environment where people feel valued, respected and supported. My approach to care is centred around creating a real “home from home” atmosphere, where residents feel comfortable, safe and able to continue living their lives in a way that reflects who they are as individuals. I strongly believe that moving into a care home should never mean losing independence or the things that bring people happiness and purpose. Instead, it should be a place where residents are encouraged to live their lives to the fullest, maintain their interests and routines, and continue making choices about their daily lives. A key part of my philosophy is supporting positive risk-taking, as I believe that enabling residents to make decisions and take part in everyday activities is essential for maintaining dignity, confidence and wellbeing. By carefully assessing risks and putting the right support in place, we can help residents remain independent while still ensuring their safety. I am committed to building a compassionate and supportive culture within the home, where staff feel valued and empowered to deliver the best possible care. By working together as a team and focusing on kindness, respect and understanding, I aim to ensure that every resident feels truly at home and is supported to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
