Very welcoming when arrived, well organised, nice room. Mum was in good spirits, clean and tidy.
Mum enjoys the food and says she liked the staff.

Since the first day our family member moved to the home, we have found everyone helpful, supportive and caring. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Our family member is happy and also well looked after. The staff are always friendly and happy to help.

Mum has been a resident at Hamilton Park Nursing Home for 10 months. Since day 1 her care has been excellent. The staff have taken the time to get to know her and her needs/requirements both physically and mentally. The staff always show care and compassion and treat mum with the utmost respect. If
the care home has any queries or problems a member of staff is always very quick to advise me. I am completely happy with the care mum is receiving at Hamilton Park Nursing Home.

My dad has been a resident at Hamilton Park Nursing Home for many years, there has been many changes over the years, the biggest changes can be seen this year under the new manager who with the support of the staff is working hard to improve the quality of the care all the residents receive, along with
making changes to the environment which were very old and dated before. Sadly, this year i;ve lost my mum. Staff have shown my dad so much kindness and support during this time. Staff are so kind and caring.

My 95-year-old mother has been a resident at Hamilton Park for nearly 2 years. In the majority of that time, there has not been a manager. Even so, the staff have been excellent and my mother, suffering from senile dementia, has been very happy there. There have been a lot of changes recently with
the new manager and it seems a much better organised establishment. Some new staff have joined as well and the care my mother gets is superb. The staff have been very patient with her.
My mother's room, although a bit small is well equipped with: washbasin, wardrobe, bedside drawers, her own comfy chair, her own TV, over bed table and commode. It is well lit and has a large window, with views onto Hamilton Park itself. It is well heated and kept clean and tidy. My mother is well fed, with a choice of menu and in the day-room, she has an allocated chair and can join in with the activities if she wants, which is not very often! There is always a good atmosphere when you go in to visit.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.782)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.782) out of 10 for Hamilton Park Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.782 for Hamilton Park Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (283 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 331 Ratings = 4.782
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hamilton Park Nursing Home is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

With over 15 years of experience working in the care sector across a variety of roles, I have developed a strong passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care that truly focuses on the individual. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work closely with residents, families and staff, which has given me a deep understanding of how important it is to create an environment where people feel valued, respected and supported. My approach to care is centred around creating a real “home from home” atmosphere, where residents feel comfortable, safe and able to continue living their lives in a way that reflects who they are as individuals. I strongly believe that moving into a care home should never mean losing independence or the things that bring people happiness and purpose. Instead, it should be a place where residents are encouraged to live their lives to the fullest, maintain their interests and routines, and continue making choices about their daily lives. A key part of my philosophy is supporting positive risk-taking, as I believe that enabling residents to make decisions and take part in everyday activities is essential for maintaining dignity, confidence and wellbeing. By carefully assessing risks and putting the right support in place, we can help residents remain independent while still ensuring their safety. I am committed to building a compassionate and supportive culture within the home, where staff feel valued and empowered to deliver the best possible care. By working together as a team and focusing on kindness, respect and understanding, I aim to ensure that every resident feels truly at home and is supported to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
