I would like to express that we are very satisfied with the care and cleanliness of Oake Meadows Nursing Home where my father has been a resident for the last 7 months or so! All the staff that we have come into contact with over time have been very friendly/professional and always welcoming! Also, I would also like to mention the fantastic housekeeping that a particular staff member and his family do, he and his wife and daughter are always friendly and happy, and do a brilliant job! Thank you!
Regards.
The care and support given to my partner during his time at Oake Meadows was amazing. All of the staff were kind and caring. Myself and my family were always made to feel welcome, and I always knew that my partner was well cared for. His final days were made as comfortable as possible for him, and he was treated with the utmost respect at all times. S,o thank you to all the staff at Oake Meadows; you are truly amazing.
Thank you, Avril, for a lovely review. I know the staff will be very happy to know that you appreciated the care they gave your partner.
My dad 92 came to Oake Meadows Nursing Home, Chestnut Unit in August 2023 we were very sceptical as the home he had come from had been the wrong type of placement. All I can say is that we need not have worried as my dad settled very quickly. This is down to all the amazing staff at Oake Meadows treating Dad with amazing care and looking at him as an individual and not someone that just has dementia and wouldn't know any better. The staff are amazing and I have to single out one staff member as her support for myself has been without doubt invaluable. Nothing is ever too much trouble. My dad's stay at Oake Meadows was always temporary until a care home nearer and the right placement was found. I know Dad will miss Oake Meadows and as a family, we will too. I cannot thank all of them enough as they have made a very difficult time for our family easier than we could have ever imagined.
Kind, friendly staff. Very caring and considerate. They looked after my cousin, who was diagnosed with a terminal illness, for three years until he passed away. The staff did a wonderful job and made my relative as comfortable as possible during his time at Oake Meadows. Very impressed and very grateful. Thank you everybody.
Mum was transferred to Willow unit at Oake Meadows Nursing Home following a long stay in hospital. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment she arrived. Unfortunately, Mum was very poorly and passed away after only a week, however, the end-of-life care she was given was outstanding. All of the staff showed compassion and care and ensured Mum was respected at all times. The staff also went above and beyond to support us as a family. My niece and I spent the majority of the week by Mum's side. They provided us with refreshments and even bedding to make us more comfortable, as well as invaluable emotional support. Having a resident cat and allowing other pets to visit also added to the warm and friendly atmosphere. I cannot thank Oake Meadows enough for making a very sad and difficult time easier.
I visit three to four times a week and have always walked into a calm, chilled environment. I would recommend anyone to view or visit this care home and meet the lovely friendly staff there. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I appreciate all they do for my mum.
My Mum has been living at Oak Meadows Nursing Home since August 22. Since our first meeting the staff have listened, been responsive, been kind and caring. The home has a real home feel about it. One big family. The staff do everything they can to make the residents and families feel cared for.
Members of Oake Meadows team made regular and supportive contact during end-of-life care, enabling my wife and I to time our travel to spend precious moments with Mum during her last week.
My brother-in-law is a new resident. His previous home of residence was not satisfactory, the staff were ill-equipped to help him. Unfortunately, we live in the USA and can only visit annually. Our first impression of Oake Meadows is that the facility is of a much higher standard than his previous. The staff are kind and capable, the home is kept clean and senior staff are very good, very supportive and listen to our concerns. We feel he is in good hands.
My husband has only been in Oake Meadows for 6 days but all staff are so good at helping him to settle, even collecting his recliner from home. Allowing him time to get used to the layout and not forcing him to leave the comfort of his room, many thanks for helping myself adjust as well.
A wonderful care home. Marvellous staff, highly skilled and trained and such an atmosphere of kindness and compassion for all. Thank you will never be enough for their care, skill and expertise. An exceptional place.
We transferred my mother to Oake Meadows from another care home in Taunton. She has been there for nearly two years now. The staff are so kind, caring and compassionate. They know each residents needs and dislikes, always going the extra mile to deliver. Communication is excellent between carers and family. It is a safe warm and clean environment with a family feel. The cat adds to this.
I can't thank the staff at Oake Meadows Nursing Home enough for the care and compassion they showed my father during his recent time in the Sutherland Unit. Dad's situation was terminal when he arrived, requiring intensive personal care, medical assistance and emotional support which he received without fail on a daily basis. It was a great comfort to me and my family to know how well he was being looked after and cared for. Often staff would go above and beyond for Dad and I am extremely grateful for it. Similarly, when my family and I visited (daily) we were also treated with great care and respect and supported emotionally (we also received a constant supply of tea and coffees as and when needed). I cannot fault the service but above all, I will never forget the all-important human touch which made a very difficult time so much easier to manage. Thank you all so much, I am glad to have met you.
My husband has been cared for with great courtesy and gentleness in the last few weeks of his life. I and my family are very glad that we found Oake Meadows Nursing Home for him. We cannot thank the staff enough for their sympathy and support in a difficult time.
I would like to thank the staff of Oak Meadows Nursing Home - Sutherland Unit for the care and love shown to my husband during his nearly four years with you. I could not have wished for a better place for him to have lived out his remaining years. Not one moan from staff about his ‘maintenance’, actually destruction, of the window latches and flooding of bathrooms etc which must have caused so much extra work for them. I was always treated with respect and countless cups of tea. Now he has passed away I feel that not only did I lose my husband but a family. The unit manager whose shoulders I cried on many a time you and your staff are wonderful. Thank you. I shall miss you all.
My friend was accepted as a resident after spending a few months in a psychiatric hospital, he was helped to settle in and on realising it was his forever home, he was delighted. Gets on well with all the staff, and they treat him with dignity and respect.
My mother is on Sutherland Ward as she has dementia. We were worried that she would be lonely and unhappy in a home, but she is so well cared for. and when we visit she always seems very well. I am very happy with the care she receives on Sutherland Ward. I have found the staff to be very kind and caring.
The staff are always very caring, patient and helpful to visitors and residents alike. If there is ever an issue with the resident, I am always notified promptly, along with details of how the issue is resolved and what further action, if any, may be required. My brother has been a resident for nearly three years, and I have always been happy and satisfied with the care he receives.
Based on infrequent visits during lockdown to my father, I have always found the staff, especially in Sutherland, to be committed, friendly and professional. I am glad my dad is being looked after by such a great team, who do not just meet his needs but genuinely care for him.
Excellent care and friendship.
