The whole team at Frome have undertaken the in-house Evolve Training Academy programme that is based around the Thomas Kitwood person-centred approach to care. This enables them to cater to the needs of the individuals that live there, greatly increasing their quality of life.
Across two separate homes, they have individually designed houses that are tailored for those living in different stages of their own dementia journeys. Separating the homes into smaller houses or communities allows for the team to develop personal relationships with those in their care, which allows them to provide personalised support that empowers everyone who lives there.
At Frome Nursing Home, we understand that no two people are the same. Everyone is unique, with their own preferences, needs and lifestyle, and we believe their care should reflect that. Because of this, our fees are tailored to each person and their individual requirements.
This personalised approach continues after someone moves in. We understand that people’s needs can change over time, and their care and support may need to change with them. If this affects their fee, we will take the time to explain what has changed and talk everything through openly, clearly and sensitively with them and the people closest to them.

Ben is one of our longest serving team members. He's been with us for over 14 years. He started as a kitchen assistant and has managed to work his way up to head chef.
He has twice finished runner at the Veggie for Life Awards, firstly in 2018 and again in 2020. He was nominated for his broad ranging recipes featuring a wide range of flavours from a variety of cultures that offer worldly taste experiences alongside the comforts of good home cooked food.
Ben says, “Everyone should be treated equally and to me whatever somebody wants, they get! Everyone is unique and has different likes/dislikes and it’s those two things that are most important to us at Frome. Alongside this, we like to make sure everyone feels happy and valued!
“At Frome we believe the people we care for, who need a specialised textured diet should be eating just as well as everyone else. I’ll pipe and puree versions of dishes on the Frome menu so that those who live with Dysphagia are able to enjoy just as delicious and aesthetically pleasing food. Our food quality doesn’t discriminate, whatever a person’s individual needs.”
He has also managed to keep our five-star food hygiene rating for the past 8 years!
