The Glen Care Home is a 52-bed nursing home , for those over 65, with a very homely atmosphere and plenty of personal attention.

The home offers nursing and residential care in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, where the physical and mental well-being of each resident will be catered for, providing a warm and welcoming environment with highly qualified nursing staff giving professional care at all times. The home also specialises in dementia care and is registered with the Care Quality Commission and is rated as ‘Good’ (February 2022).

The home is situated on the edge of the village of Evercreech in a large landscaped garden, close to the A371 road and within three miles from the regional centre of Shepton Mallet. There is a regular bus service to and from Shepton Mallet and Castle Cary which runs throughout the day.

The Glen is a friendly and caring home, which really supports residents and their families. All the staff are professional and supportive. Dad has been a resident for only 9 weeks and has made great progress following a long stay in hospital. I'm very happy with how Dad has settled in. Thank you too

I always feel comfortable and welcomed when visiting The Glen. There is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All the staff, in whatever role, are polite and helpful, even going out of their way to assist or answer queries. The care that they give is consistently thoughtful and they take the necessary
time to provide what is required in a kind and compassionate way. My husband has told me that he is content there, and I know that he receives what is necessary in homely surroundings.

I have visited The Glen Care Home many times when visiting one of the residents who is my client. I have always found the staff at The Glen to be very helpful and caring to my client. She has lived at The Glen for 2 years and is very happy there. The Glen could do with a private meeting room, as when

When visiting this month, I found all the staff very pleasant and welcoming, they take time to say hello and also include mum in the conversations as well. The home is working great with all the new improvements. Any concerns you have are quickly resolved. Also, find following their activities on their

I am immensely impressed with the friendly and caring nature of the all the staff here. The manager and admin staff are very responsive and helpful as well. They recently enabled us to have a family celebration on site and couldn't have been more helpful and thoughtful. I visit regularly and the
place is always clean and tidy, the staff well-turned out and the residents well cared for. There are a range of communal spaces for residents to use, and on the ground floor everything is on a level so easy to move around. The site is in a lovely rural location, with gardens and big trees visible through big windows with lots of natural light. That is particular good for those residents who cannot easily be moved outside during the summer months.

The Glen Care Home has very helpful and friendly staff who always make you feel welcome. Set in beautiful grounds its always a pleasure arriving there. My mother is very well taken care of by all the staff and they do their very best to make sure she's comfortable. She now has regular nutritious
meals which is a relief for me! I would have no hesitation in making a recommendation.

I visited here today 4th of March. I was very impressed with the cleaning of my friends room and all the cleaning throughout the building. Some residents were enjoying the sunshine in the garden with excellent caring staff. They had a quiz that the activity people ran and they enjoyed making pancakes.
I have worked in several homes. And was very impressed. The residents seemed well cared for. I noticed that in staring activity the category said don't know but I do know I was very pleased they do definitely do activities. Congratulations on a lovely home.

It is always a pleasure to be able to comment on the efforts, caring and compassion of others. This nursing home is definitely a gem amongst many homes. Situated in idyllic grounds, the quiet charm of an old country house, the staff are exceptional. Going above and beyond to help where they can to
assist loved ones and their family members. It is a difficult role, and exhausting, but family requests are upheld and follow through is wonderful. I anppreciate all that is done for my sister and myself, she is all I have now, and being geographically challenged this home gives me comfort knowing she is safe and well looked after. Thank you.

Dad has been in the Glen for 18 months, he enjoys the food he has a nice room, the staff are excellent and are always on hand, my Dad has always been treated well, there are lots of activities for the female residents crafts etc but not any for male residents.

Very friendly and caring staff. My mother is healthier and more mobile now than when she arrived from hospital. It's a beautiful old house with lovely grounds, plenty of car parking and close to my home. Always a pleasure to visit.

My experience being with my brother after many years was wonderful.
From the moment I was admitted by staff, and directed what to do, sign and proceed upstairs, was friendly and caring.
Apart from the lift breakdown (!), taking him on a trip around the wards and kitchen was fun.
A thorough discussion
with the duty head was enlightening, putting me clearly in my brother's situation.

The staff at The Glen are absolutely fantastic. They clearly care for my dad and look after him so well. There are daily activities and a couple of fairs a year bringing in the local community which is so important for those who can't travel. Given his level of needs, he could not be in better hands.

My dad has been a resident since February 2023. He feels so at home, he does not want to go out for a meal with the family. He is in his comfort zone but not institutionalised and his mind is still sharp. He does go to organised events and is taken swimming on an organised basis as part of the facilities
provided -what a treat! He feels cocooned and safe when he is taken out.
The management takes their duty of care very seriously, but The Glen is run like a family. Nursing and GP's attention is very high-grade. Any needs are addressed urgently. I meet most of the staff on visits and they are so friendly and caring that I can see why Dad is so happy there. The food is good and the atmosphere is always friendly. All this gives comfort to the family that Dad is always 'safe' and in the best place to see out his years. All credit to the manager and her loyal staff.

I felt very well cared for in a very pleasant environment - thank you.
The only thing that wasn't so good was the difficulty in manoeuvring the hoist for the commode or bed/wheelchair in a rather cramped room.

I am a highly experienced and motivated healthcare professional with a proven track record of providing excellent care and support. I started working at The Glen Care Home in 1999 as a care assistant and have worked my way up to a Home Manager through various roles within the home.


We have a fantastic team here at The Glen and for us, it's ensuring our residents are happy and cared for with the utmost respect and dignity they deserve. I use my knowledge of the local area to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and am always keen to involve the local community in life at The Glen.

I am a dedicated and talented registered nurse with suitable qualifications, skills and a plethora of experience to be deputy manager for The Glen Care Home. During the 16 years at The Glen, with the last years as Head of Care, I have acquired far-reaching knowledge of care standards and health & safety legislation and have gained extensive experience in working with vulnerable adults and people with special needs including mental and physical disabilities.


I can effectively lead, train, supervise and motivate a team to deliver the utmost care and professionalism to all our residents and their families consistently. High standards of care are achieved through placement assessments and risk assessments for residents, formulating individual care plans and ensuring that these are met by the team.
