It is always a pleasure to be able to comment on the efforts, caring and compassion of others. This nursing home is definitely a gem amongst many homes. Situated in idyllic grounds, the quiet charm of an old country house, the staff are exceptional. Going above and beyond to help where they can to assist loved ones and their family members. It is a difficult role, and exhausting, but family requests are upheld and follow through is wonderful. I anppreciate all that is done for my sister and myself, she is all I have now, and being geographically challenged this home gives me comfort knowing she is safe and well looked after. Thank you.

Very friendly and caring staff. My mother is healthier and more mobile now than when she arrived from hospital. It's a beautiful old house with lovely grounds, plenty of car parking and close to my home. Always a pleasure to visit.

My experience being with my brother after many years was wonderful.
From the moment I was admitted by staff, and directed what to do, sign and proceed upstairs, was friendly and caring.
Apart from the lift breakdown (!), taking him on a trip around the wards and kitchen was fun.

A thorough discussion with the duty head was enlightening, putting me clearly in my brother's situation.

The staff at The Glen are absolutely fantastic. They clearly care for my dad and look after him so well. There are daily activities and a couple of fairs a year bringing in the local community which is so important for those who can't travel. Given his level of needs, he could not be in better hands.

My dad has been a resident since February 2023. He feels so at home, he does not want to go out for a meal with the family. He is in his comfort zone but not institutionalised and his mind is still sharp. He does go to organised events and is taken swimming on an organised basis as part of the facilities provided -what a treat! He feels cocooned and safe when he is taken out.

The management takes their duty of care very seriously, but The Glen is run like a family. Nursing and GP's attention is very high-grade. Any needs are addressed urgently. I meet most of the staff on visits and they are so friendly and caring that I can see why Dad is so happy there. The food is good and the atmosphere is always friendly. All this gives comfort to the family that Dad is always 'safe' and in the best place to see out his years. All credit to the manager and her loyal staff.

I felt very well cared for in a very pleasant environment - thank you.

The only thing that wasn't so good was the difficulty in manoeuvring the hoist for the commode or bed/wheelchair in a rather cramped room.

My mum stayed for a couple of weeks respite after leaving hospital in January this year. From start to finish the care given was brilliant. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Mum has additional nursing needs which were met and dealt with efficiently and with kindness and care. Nothing was too much trouble. Should Mum need to access nursing care again in the future, we would not hesitate to go back to The Glen.

The staff at The Glen Care Home are always so friendly and accommodating, they interact well with the patients and their families. It is always clean and tidy and you can see that the patients are kept safe and very well cared for. Whilst I have been visiting my grandad-in-law I have seen many different activities going on during the day. I would highly recommend The Glen Nursing Home.

Both my parents have been cared for at The Glen, with Dad passing away in October.
I have always found the team to be positive, responsive and very caring. Under the new management, there's a can-do attitude and approach, and I've always felt we are a team in the way we've discussed and made decisions about both parents' care and support.

I feel that nothing is ever too much trouble, and I always get a quick response to emails and calls.

The care and understanding my father has received since moving to The Glen has been outstanding.
All staff members work incredibly hard and have warmly welcomed him. They are an extremely friendly bunch and have not only supported him, but also myself in helping him to adapt to his new home and lifestyle.
The communication is superb and the medical treatment by nurses and carers has been second to none. They have coped brilliantly with my father’s needs and often demanding behaviour. His comfort and welfare is always their main priority.

During a very difficult time for us as a family, I would like to thank all staff, from the cleaners, maintenance staff, carers, nurses, caterers, admin and management for their sense of humour and the warm reception we have received.

The residents are treated with respect and dignity within a warm, friendly and homely environment. A wide range of activities are available to keep people mobile and stimulated. Those who are unable to access the lounges or prefer to stay on their own are offered one-to-one interactions in their rooms.
Visitors are always made welcome and encouraged to participate in residents' care and activities. On arrival, the atmosphere is cheerful and welcoming.

Many of the bedrooms and bedroom furniture need modernising and updating but I realise that this is a continual maintenance need. The maintenance staff are exceptionally helpful and always busy maintaining a large, older building.

My husband was suffering from a terminal illness and he spent his last few months, before he very sadly died, as a resident at The Glen Care Home. He was treated at all times with respect and lots of loving care from his nurses and care workers. Nothing was too much trouble for them and that love and support was also extended to myself and my family when we visited him on a daily basis. The staff are dedicated people and The Glen has a very homely atmosphere. I got to know some of the other residents whilst my husband was living there and they all seemed to be happy and contented.

Whenever I visit Mum, she always seems happy and well cared for. She has never minded complaining about things but rarely does about her time at The Glen Care Home. The staff are always helpful and there appears to be a really happy atmosphere there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Glen to anyone seeking a good quality care home.
