My Mum has been well looked after and I think she enjoys being here. She likes the activities, but as she gets older we have noticed how more vacant she has become and cannot join in so much.

My husband arrived at The Cedars in July after a spell in hospital. We are very pleased with our choice of care home. He is very happy and well looked after by all staff. We would recommend The Cedars to everyone, (we meaning our family).

We have recently made some changes to our catering service to enhance our resident dining experience and have introduced a new “Autumn/Winter menu” offering a choice of appetising and nutritionally balanced meals. The Cedars Nursing Home team seeks regular feedback from residents about the choice of meals served and this helps us to plan our menus, ensuring that all meals offered are appropriate for each resident. If there is anything specific your relative would like to be included perhaps this could be discussed the next time you visit our home, or perhaps you could join us for a meal of your choice to enjoy with your relative.
At The Cedars Nursing Home, there are always activities planned with something in mind for everyone, to keep everyone engaged in, just the way they’d like. Our Wishing Well scheme is really centred around understanding our residents, finding out about their life history and getting to know the things they would really like to do, so that our caring team can help to make their wishes a reality – there have been some amazing success stories across Brighterkind and the team are keen to get going with this in addition to the home’s daily activities programme. Your cousin’s birthday is approaching, in October and we have already planned a party for her and friends to enjoy, which we know she is eagerly anticipating.
If there is anything you would like to discuss further, please do not hesitate to contact customercare@brighterkind.com or pop into the home to speak to me anytime, my door is always open. Many thanks, Maxine Spincer, Home Manager.

Mum sadly was not able to return to her residential care home due to a rapid deterioration in her health. We were offered the Cedars as a place where mum could be well looked after and where we as a family could spend quality time as she was for palliative care. The care that mum received and support we received as a family were amazing. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome at such a difficult time. Mum was only at the Cedars for a very short time but would have loved it if she had been more aware.

Hello,I qualified as a nurse in 2009. I started my career back home in India for a few years before coming to the UK in 2013. I quickly found my passion for elderly care and felt a great sense of achievement when helping others live to their best potential. When the residents smile and see them happy, I know the team has done a fantastic job in enriching their lives.
I have worked as Head of Care and Deputy Manager for a few homes around London and in Hampshire. I believe I can keep up my good work to keep my residents and their loved ones happy & comfortable. I have always made a good relationship with all the multi-healthcare professionals for the well-being of my residents.
I love being out in nature and driving around in my spare time. My little one keeps me busy, the rest of the time.Looking forward to meeting you all.

My name is Michelle. I started my nursing career slightly later in life. I studied at Bournemouth University and after qualifying went to work in Bournemouth Hospital on the stroke unit. I became a specialist stroke assessor nurse before stepping out into nursing homes. I progressed from a senior nurse to deputy, to clinical manager and general manager before joining Barchester. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of nursing and love that you are helping someone at their most vulnerable have the most fulfilling life possible whilst supporting all of their needs where they require it. I am especially passionate about end-of-life care and ensuring that the person and their family have the support and comfort that they require at what can be a very upsetting and distressing time for all.

I am a compassionate healthcare professional with an MSc in pre-registration nursing (Adult Health) and about a decade of experience in the healthcare profession. What I value most in my work is making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents, collaborating within a supportive team and finding purpose in providing compassionate care within a stable and fulfilling career.
Outside of my professional life, I prioritise personal growth and stress relief through meditation, and I’m currently incorporating running into my routine. I also enjoy reading, learning new skills, watching Discovery and documentary films and travelling.

Hi, I have been working in administration for over 10 years. I joined Cedars as an Administration Assistant in February 2022 and progressed to Administrator in July 2022, where I now lead a team of 3 lovely ladies. I am thoroughly enjoying leading such a strong team. Tasks related to administration are often important to keeping a business running efficiently. So, having the responsibility to complete tasks on time and in a quality manner without much oversight is crucial and really rewarding for me personally. Being in administration has many other benefits - I interact on a daily basis with residents, families, staff and the local community which can be really fun.
In my spare time, I love looking after my menagerie of animals, horse riding, and mostly just being outdoors! I also love spending quality time with my two children, who like to keep me on my toes!
