My brother has been at the care home now for 1 year and he tells me he is very happy. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I like to say, the BBQ was excellent and the staff worked so very hard and I think everyone enjoyed it, well done. About the car park, um?

I am able to spend quality time with my husband and know that he's being looked after and cared for well, it has given me peace of mind that he's safe.

Dad has been a resident at Avon Court since Jan 2025. It was a really worrying time for my mum and me as to whether the care would be good but I can honestly say he is in very safe hands. The staff are so kind and really care about the residents and nothing is too much trouble for them. Dad really enjoys
the music entertainment and it has a really positive effect on the dementia residents. Well done to the Entertainment Team who work really hard to keep everyone happy.

Throughout my brother's care, he was treated with dignity and respect by friendly cheerful staff as were we. We were kept up to date with his progress and treatment at all times. Myself and my family cannot thank all staff concerned enough for making his last days bearable.

My relative has settled well here. Conservatory seems underused, spends a lot of time on her own in her room, says she is lonely. Sometimes small of urine in the corridor. Generally has a good friendly atmosphere. The staff are always cheerful, but could do with larger name badges - easier to read!
We are generally pleased with her care.

This is my first year of witnessing the Christmas atmosphere and festivities in the home. The whole month of December has been a wonderful experience for both residents and family. This was my first visit to my mum since she moved in over the summer. The care staff are exceptional, very kind, chatty and fun with my mum, which is very important to Mum as she is very sociable and has always had lots of friends in her life. The meals are really varied and it was nice to join Mum
in the dining room. Not a criticism but I found the meals being presented for choice a bit confusing for the residents, most of them thought it was dinner time. Mum would always be interested in as much entertainment and activities as she can get, loves karaoke.

My gran has been very happy here. Two particular members of staff have been so helpful and caring, made us feel very welcome and make our visits happy. Their efforts make Granny feel safe, and the activity schedule has been wonderful for her. Her room is kept very clean and tidy.

My mother came to Avon Court in March 2024, after a long stay in hospital due to dementia worsening. She was made to feel very welcome and it has a lovely atmosphere, and we are always made to feel welcome when we visit. It's a happy and safe place for Mum to be and feel reassured she is being cared
for.
As for the 2 activity coordinators they are absolutely brilliant.
What more can I say, the care and consideration and the fun they give my mum is outstanding and Mum loves them. They arrange great activities that keep Mum's mind occupied, busy and she loves the socialisation with other residents.

My husband was in Avon Court from 13/04/2022 until 17/02/2024. I've been very happy with the home, the care and staff were excellent. His room was a little shabby especially the bathroom but on the whole no complaints. Many thanks for caring for him, visiting him almost every day has left a void in

My mother was very happy there, it is a happy place to be. Staff are cheerful and attentive and really get to know residents as individuals. Mum at 93 had dementia and was profoundly deaf but found a way to communicate with her. Mum was treated with kindness and respect, ailments were treated quickly
and appropriately. Staff were cheerful, and did not appear to be a turnover staff, they got to know me and my mum. So glad my mum was happy and cared for.

She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Choosing to work in the care sector because she has a passion for people and knowing each as an individual, Mitchelo closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Mitchelo remarked: “Going home with a smile on my face, knowing I have achieved my goals to provide quality-centred care for my Residents.”
