I have been going into Avon Court for many years as a visiting Christian Minister and was pleased when my mother was offered a bed there. Staff are always friendly and polite, premises are always clean and tidy (no bad smells!) and a good range of activities on offer to keep residents motivated and
engaged.

My mother is there for physio after a stroke. She is well looked after and likes the staff. Weekends feel a little flat over there, few staff about and nothing going on.

Mum is really happy and settled at Avon Court. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and give mum wonderful individual attention and care. The entertainment is excellent with singing and craft activities which are well thought out. I attended one session of a singing activity and all residents and

My mother spent two months in Avon Court following a number of falls and time in hospital. The staff were caring and reliable with medications and personal help. They helped to build my mother's confidence and made her feel cared for and positive. She will miss many of the team.

I find that he is being treated very kindly and the staff are very helpful and kind to his situation and love to talk with him. Not only is he being cared for he likes the staff, looks forward to seeing certain members of staff who he can talk sport with plus he likes the entertainment on offer. This

The two lovely ladies that are the entertainment team and do the activities have made a real difference to how my nan feels about living here.
They have made her time here much more acceptable and really make an effort with her and make her feel happy.
The home as a whole is full of friendly staff

Several concerns raised with trained nursing staff not appearing to be acted upon or listened to.
Poor communication, often staff contradicting each other or giving wrong information, have been advised by healthcare assistant 'he practically gets himself out of bed and into chair' contrary to physio
team's assessment of his abilities.
Notes are task orientated, visiting in the evenings there does not appear to be any staff available to discuss care so you often rely on the notes to see what care has been given.
On several occasions still in bed until gone midday as the staff have been too busy to wash/dress and sit out in a chair. Even though the physio team have advised he is better mobilising in the mornings.
Clothes have all gone missing. Is often wearing other people's clothes.
Room is often dirty, cutlery under the bed for 3 days, found dirty dressing on the floor.
The only saving grace in this place is the excellent physio and OT team, one nurse and one HCA and the food.

The care my father in law receives is outstanding.
Every time I visit everyone is very friendly and make me feel part of the home. Food is fantastic - staff fantastic - entertainment is fantastic.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Mitchelo has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Choosing to work in the care sector because she has a passion for people and knowing each as an individual, Mitchelo closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Mitchelo remarked: “Going home with a smile on my face, knowing I have achieved my goals to provide quality-centred care for my Residents.”


Mitchelo has also achieved much outside of work and enjoys spending time with her family. Her proudest achievement is being a mother and still managing to enjoy her work.
