The staff are always so kind and helpful. The team that organise the daily events are very encouraging and my relative thoroughly enjoys the art sessions. It always feels like a "family" environment and I know my relative feels safe and comfortable there which is good.

My mother spent two months in Avon Court following a number of falls and time in hospital. The staff were caring and reliable with medications and personal help. They helped to build my mother's confidence and made her feel cared for and positive. She will miss many of the team.

I find that he is being treated very kindly and the staff are very helpful and kind to his situation and love to talk with him. Not only is he being cared for he likes the staff, looks forward to seeing certain members of staff who he can talk sport with plus he likes the entertainment on offer. This is his 3rd home and he is happy here now he has settled in.

The two lovely ladies that are the entertainment team and do the activities have made a real difference to how my nan feels about living here.
They have made her time here much more acceptable and really make an effort with her and make her feel happy.
The home as a whole is full of friendly staff who make it feel like home from home.

It really is lovely.

Several concerns raised with trained nursing staff not appearing to be acted upon or listened to.
Poor communication, often staff contradicting each other or giving wrong information, have been advised by healthcare assistant 'he practically gets himself out of bed and into chair' contrary to physio team's assessment of his abilities.
Notes are task orientated, visiting in the evenings there does not appear to be any staff available to discuss care so you often rely on the notes to see what care has been given.
On several occasions still in bed until gone midday as the staff have been too busy to wash/dress and sit out in a chair. Even though the physio team have advised he is better mobilising in the mornings.
Clothes have all gone missing. Is often wearing other people's clothes.
Room is often dirty, cutlery under the bed for 3 days, found dirty dressing on the floor.

The only saving grace in this place is the excellent physio and OT team, one nurse and one HCA and the food.

I am very pleased with the way the staff look after my husband. I feel it a pity that Avon Court does not have a gardener as it badly needs attention.

Thank you for your review; we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are pleased that you feel your husband is well looked after by the staff, who work hard to provide kind, quality care. Regarding the garden, we do have a contractor who visits monthly to do...

My mum always expressed a lifelong fear of being put in a care home. So you can imagine how difficult a decision it was to do so. But I can honestly say that she settled in really well from the first day (she has now been there for 3 years & 4 months). The staff and management are a fine example of kindness and compassion. Can totally recommend.

Very poorly when arrived but with lots of encouragement and help, I am now up and walking.
Staff very kind and had some good laughs and banter with most.

The highlight of my stay, except for getting mobile, were having the alpacas visit me in my room. Lovely to see and touch. Loved it.

I have been visiting my sister in Avon Court for a great number of years and have always found it very clean and welcoming. The staff are kindness itself, always willing to help and to show an interest in the resident and visitor. I never felt anxious at the end of my visit to leave my sister in their care. I visited at least once or twice a week.
