A very warm welcome with room all ready for dad - with equipment needed to make his stay go smoothly.

Staff friendly and helpful - nothing too much trouble. Hope to persuade mum and dad will agree to another week's respite soon.

I can only praise all aspects of the care my mother receives at Harnham Croft Care Home it may not be her own home but its the next best thing! All staff are wonderful to her and all the other resident's nothing is too much trouble for them. I live 200 miles away from Salisbury and I have no need to worry about her as I know she is being well cared for.

I would just like to say thank you so much for all at Harnham Croft Care Home do.

As the granddaughter of the resident. I would highly recommend this home to others. The care from the staff is outstanding. All the residents seem happy and well cared for. The facilities are great for visitors and feedback from the staff is great. I can feel assured when I leave her she is in great hands.

Overall Experience

This one of the better care homes that I have been involved with, but it is not brilliant. Most of the staff are kind and caring, but there are one or two who do not have the patience to look after elderly people and treat them as naughty children. The food is plentiful and edible, but bland and unadventurous. There is no curry, spicy dishes, or much use of herbs and garlic, but plenty of stodgy cakes and puddings. Housekeeping can be a bit erratic. Bathroom bins aren't always emptied when they need to be, even when full of used continence pads, although generally, the place is clean enough. Laundry gets lost or is sent back to the wrong resident. Activities are fairly banal. As I said, better than average but not brilliant.

My mother has been at Harnham Croft for 2 years. In that time, we have found the management sympathetic and always willing to make the time to see us, if needed.

The nurses and carers go out of their way to try and engage with my mother, and they persevere when this isn't easy. There are many regular activities organised for residents, and this creates a relaxed community atmosphere. I would be very happy to recommend Harnham Croft to friends.

Mum has been in the home for 17 months and we have been happy to have mum in the home. They are all proactive and the food is very good. There are lots of activities. More than anything we feel mum is being looked after.

Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident at Harnham Croft since June 2015. She has been very happy there and her needs, both physical and overall well-being are consistently met. The surroundings are very comfortable and she has been able to make her room her own. Their philosophy of it being the residents own home has meant that she has a good deal of choice over most aspects of her life. Residents are encouraged to be sociable, but if you prefer not, then it is your choice. There is a wide range of activities available, in fact, there is something on every day. There are also trips out, so opportunities to be involved in the wider community. The residents are encouraged to share their concerns and wishes in a regular meeting with staff so that issues can be addressed quickly. The staff are a wonderful, hard-working group of people who are friendly and caring. The management is proactive and very dedicated to making the home of the highest quality.

Overall Experience

Harnham Croft is a friendly, caring nursing home, which provides sympathetic care for its residents. Recently the home has been comprehensively redecorated to a high standard. Management is firm but the staff all like working there and are cheerful even under the inevitable stress of working with the old and infirm. Nursing staff respond quickly to infections and there seems to be a good relationship with the local doctors. All in all my wife is well looked after at Harnham Croft.

Overall Experience

My husband had a severe stroke six years ago and six months after the stroke came to Harnham Croft care home as a resident. From the moment he arrived he began to relax with the happy atmosphere in the home. During these years he has had excellent care, kindness and first class housing. He enjoys the food which is provided by a very good chef. The events which are organised by the events Manager, which I have included indoors, interactive quizzes and games and very nice outings. The main reason for all these, in particular, aspects is that the manager has given so much of her time and put so much energy into achieving making the home very special and comfortable for all the residents.

Earlier this year, my wife was diagnosed as terminally ill with an inoperable brain tumour. She was admitted to 'Harnham Croft Care Home' early in March for palliative care. This nursing home was the preference of both of us. We were both very grateful for the care, both medical and general, which the staff gave her right up to her death on 12th July 2016. It was a very difficult period for me and I am very grateful for the consideration and care they gave me. The whole team is a great credit to the manager whom I came to regard as a friend.

Overall Experience

Generally my experience of Harnham Croft was very positive and proactive management, caring staff, good facilities, efficient administration and convenient location. The service bought was for respite care for a 94 year old lady who had broken her arm but in every other respect was mentally and physically fit. We discovered that most other residents have varying degrees of handicap mentally meaning there was little companionship available for her which rather than criticism, meant her experience was less enjoyable than might other have been the case. The only other observation regards the telephone system that may be organised so that when phoning in one is not disrupting other carers?

Overall Experience

My mother came to the home for end of life care, suffering from both cancer and a severe stroke. She was confined to bed most of the time and limited to pureed food. She couldn't speak. The care she received was excellent. Mum was kept beautifully clean. She was treated with dignity at all times and I felt no concern about her safety or well-being. On the night she passed away the staff were so kind to myself and did not rush anything. Mum was still treated with the same care and dignity afterwards. The home really did try to give her the best quality of life that was possible.

My mother has been a resident in the above home for 8 years. During this time she has been treated with great professionalism, dignity, care and indeed love. She has always felt safe. She has been in bed by necessity for over three years and when she died did not have a mark on her body. Testimony to excellent care.
