We are absolutely delighted and lucky to have found Harnham Croft as a nursing home for my elderly father. The level of care is outstanding. We have nothing but good words to say about the people + place.

My husband moved to Harnham Croft after six weeks in hospital and ten years of being cared for at home. He was made to feel at home from day one and the staff are friendly, caring and professional.
We have enjoyed two special family visits where the Staff did everything to ensure that the visits were enjoyable and successful.

There is always a warm, friendly welcome for visitors which is much appreciated.

Overall Experience
The home is pleasant, friendly and calm.
My mother is spoken to as an adult, even though she can no longer speak. There is attention to fiddly small matters, important to my mother only.
Everything seems in order and addressed but there is no sense of bustle, which is very important for the residents, as it is their home environment.
The ground floor has a spacious living room with easy access to a terrace with a 'Constable' view of the river. There seem to be activities organised & exercise is encouraged.
The food is home cooked and the current chef a very good cook (I usually eat what my mother will not eat!). Carefully cooked vegetables are served with the main meal.

The current Manager, Stephen, is exceptional. He is unassuming and welcoming. He is calm and quietly present. He genuinely listens. He is a focused, hands-on manager, who clearly leads by example. I often sit and have a drink and read in the reception before I leave and have seen this.

My relative enjoys a comfortable level of basic and nursing care. The home is well managed, clean and the staff are extremely friendly. The resident's spouse is able to visit regularly and at varying times if necessary.

My mother moved into Harnham Croft 10 weeks ago following a serious illness. This all followed her husband's, my father's, death in November. Mum was utterly depressed and didn't want to live. My husband, sister and I visited every home in the area for numerous reasons, but mainly the people we chose Harnham Croft. The staff have been wonderful and have gone out of their way to give Mum all the support she needs. Even the residents have embraced her. My mother is a changed person. Mum laughs and smiles again.

If your loved one has to be in a care home, I am so pleased that my wife was able to reside at Harnham Croft. Always has a friendly and caring atmosphere and a cosy feeling to feel it is home from home. Being able to visit at and when is so valuable and reassuring that all is transparent and that you are able to read daily care records. Good communication to ensure my wife's well-being, she is always clean, well-groomed and calm. The staff are very friendly welcoming and attentive.

Although Mum was only a resident at Harnham Croft for a very short stay the family was immediately struck with the level of care and professionalism we all experienced. It was evident that the quality of management at the home permeated throughout all resident and visitor touchpoints and was hugely reassuring at a very stressful time.

My mother spent the last 16 months of her long life in the care of Harnham Croft and its staff. I cannot in any way fault the diligence, care, compassion and consideration of the staff. In her final week all the staff showed us all the utmost affection and support at what is the most difficult of times. Thank you all, my mother was happy in your care and my siblings and I will always be grateful.

After living the majority of his life alone, it was imperative to find a care home that my uncle would be happy to live in. Harnham Croft Care Home exceeds our and more importantly my uncle's expectations. His room is fabulous and so are the staff. They are attentive and professional. He is very happy with the food. He feels safe.

With a condition like my wife's (Alzheimer's disease), there is no such thing as perfect. That which is in the care provider's power to contract is done to the very best that can be expected, is all I could ask for.
