The management and staff are a great bunch. They are kind, caring and helpful, always ready to answer questions you have. They have enormous patience with the client, and Miranda House has a happy atmosphere. There is a weekly activity sheet which has something for everyone. Music is played in the garden room for clients to sit and listen, and also watch the birds and an odd squirrel running around. I wish I had known about Miranda House when my husband first had to go into care.
Thank you for your feedback - it means a lot to the team here. We appreciate you taking the time to write us a review, and if there is ever anything more we can do to help, please just let us know.
My dad was only with you a short time but in that time he was treated well and with dignity. The staff I found to be caring, supportive and of a generally high caliber.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're happy to hear that your dad received such great care at Miranda House. As always all staff at Miranda (regardless of position) are respectful, pleasant and kind, not only to their residents but to visitors also. The care our mother receives is beyond reproach. We are always kept up to date on her care. We also have all our questions/concerns answered in a timely manor. For us Miranda House and it's entire staff, are like a second family and we could not and would not wish for a better home for our darling mother. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

When I visit my brother, I am always greeted by friendly and caring staff. He is very well looked after, as are all the residents from what I can tell. His room and the communal spaces are well-maintained and clean. My brother has also been taken out on activities, which is lovely and adds to the quality of care he is receiving. It is reassuring to know he is in a safe environment.
Thank you for your positive review. We're delighted to hear that your brother is receiving such great care at Miranda House and that you feel welcome and reassured during your visits. Your wonderful comments have been passed on to the team, who will be delighted to hear your feedback.

The activities staff have been amazing. They have taken Mum to bingo and Dementia choir weekly, along with choir concerts and many of the tractor runs that have happened through the town. They frequently invite singers to entertain residents and organise arts and crafts, quizzes and other activities weakly. All of this has allowed us to feel confident Mom is being looked after.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We're so pleased that we could offer your mum a place here at Miranda House, and that the team has been able to make such a positive difference. Your wonderful comments have been passed on to the team who will be delighted to hear your feedback.
To all managers and staff of Miranda House, thank you for the second year of the invitation to Christmas dinner to spend with my wife and to the catering staff for a wonderful dinner.

We're pleased to hear you enjoyed Christmas dinner with your wife, it was a pleasure to have you with us. I will pass on your kind comments to the catering team who will be delighted to hear your feedback.
I did not know what to expect, mother went down very quickly to a point where she needed 24 hour care. Right from the start we were made to feel welcome and they spent a lot of time with mum to help her settle in. Full of respect for the staff, the more I visit the more I appreciate the respect and care they show the residents.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, our hearts are with your family during this difficult transition. We know how tough it has been for your mother as well as her loved ones. We're so glad however that she's settling in and feels welcome at Miranda House. She most certainly is,...
The care home is very clean and tidy - all of the staff are friendly. Always welcomes you with a smile on reception is lovely as well. My nan is really looked after and I am very happy and appreciate the staff.

In November 2023 the time came for my mother to move into a care home, due to her dementia deteriorating. Leaving her in a new home not knowing how she would be cared for was very hard as I wanted the best care for her. 7 months on and although my mother has deteriorated, the care, kindness and dignity of all the staff has been amazing. It's like a big extended family and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much.
Thank you, Beverley, for your kind words and recognition of the team at Miranda House. The care from the heart and services we deliver to all our residents and families is extremely important to us, so it's lovely to hear this gives you reassurance. Thank you again for your review and your feedback will be shared with the team.
The home and staff are excellent, they make us welcome when we visit. There's not much there to entertain my husband as he can't do much, picture books or magazines would be good as he doesn't read. I'm going to sort a TV or radio as he likes music but not a lot of noise. All the staff deserve medals for the wonderful care they give.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for your kind words about our home, the care your husband is receiving and the team at Miranda House. Your feedback has been shared with the team.
Unfortunately the decor is not good. I do know that the home is getting a face lift but my mother's room is in dire need of decorating. I was told over a year ago that oy was going to be done but now has come to wait! This is not good considering how much it costs.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for your kind words about our team at Miranda House and the care your mother is receiving. We value all feedback and I will be in contact to work with you to find a suitable solution with regards to your mother’s room.
My mum has been a resident of Miranda House now for a few years, and although initially, she found it very difficult to settle and understand what was happening, due to dementia, both staff and management have been extremely patient, caring and empathic, and as a result, she is now settled and comparatively content. Communication between staff and relatives is well-established and always professional, everyone is very approachable and happy to answer any questions we may have. Although the home environment is a little outdated it is great to hear that plans for refurbishment are just around the corner. The food cannot be faulted and is always to a high standard and suitable for the age and abilities of the residents. What is most important for us as a family is knowing that Mum is safe and well cared for, and the compassion and genuine fondness are shown in abundance by the staff, I cannot thank all at Miranda House enough for everything they do in what is a very difficult and challenging job.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for your kind words about our home and recognition of the team at Miranda House for the care your mum is receiving; it is lovely to hear that she has settled in and feels part of the family. Your feedback will be shared with the team.
I have been a regular visitor to Miranda House for almost a year. I have always found the staff to be very professional when undertaking their work that I am able to see. It is reassuring as a relative to know a loved one is being cared for by a good team. My only negative comment is based on weekend access. There are no front-of-house staff at weekends and visitors are reliant on other staff being able to allow access. On two occasions, no one has come to the door so I have been unable to see my wife. I am fortunate that I live very local to the home but I know some visitors come from further afield and this would be very frustrating if it happened then.
Thank you Derek for taking the time to leave us a review and for your kind words about the care your wife is receiving at Miranda House. We take reviews of our services very seriously as they help to inform our continuous improvement plans, all your feedback will be shared with the team.
I'm happy with what I have seen and the garden looks nice to sit in, in warmer weather, and the carers seem friendly enough and my uncle seems happy enough too.
Thank you for your positive review! We're glad to hear that you're happy with what you've seen and that the garden looks nice. We strive to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for all of our residents at Miranda House and it's great to hear that our staff are friendly and that your uncle is happy. Your comments have been passed on to the team. Thank you again for your feedback.
My husband was rejected by care homes throughout Wiltshire because he needed one-to-one care, during his three months stay in hospital with Parkinson's, dementia and delirium. He was very agitated and depressed. He was assessed by the deputy manager at Miranda House who agreed to accept him. From his first hours at Miranda House, he has not needed one-to-one care and he is calm. The staff are kind, understanding and respectful. I can't speak too highly of the care my husband receives at Miranda House.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review, Marion. We're happy to hear that your husband is receiving such great care at Miranda House and is now feeling calm in our care. All comments will be passed on to the team and thank you again for the review.
He has settled in so fast and although he wants to come home with me, he also wants to stay. I am so delighted, thank you Miranda House.
Many thanks for your positive review, Julie. We're happy to hear that your husband is receiving such great care at Miranda House and we are also delighted to hear that he has settled in well, such a joy to care for. The team were thrilled with your feedback.
Can't thank all staff at Miranda House enough. The improvement in my dad is amazing. Everyone is so helpful and happy. Food is amazing, it is so clean in the home.
I would like to thank you from myself and my team at Miranda House for your kind words after your review of our home. Our goal is to always ensure that all of our residents and their families are supported throughout their stay with us.

Meet the Team (1)

I have worked in elderly care since 1987 across only five different homes during this time.
I have mainly worked with dementia residents during my time in the sector. I enjoy the aspect of moving homes forward with the team to ensure that our residents have a meaningful and safe environment to live in. I believe it is important to make sure that relatives are also part of that journey.
I want to be a familiar face out and about at Miranda House and will be actively involved in getting to know all our residents and working with the team to ensure I bring cohesiveness to the home.
At Miranda House, care from the heart means our great team ensures our residents and relatives are cared for as if they were our own family, always going that extra mile. The team also looks after each other, true teamwork. For us, caring is always ensuring you are doing your best for everyone. Giving the time to listen, chat, and always being compassionate.
